Mamababybliss Description

My name is Jessica Drain and I’m married with two boys aged 1 and 3½ years of age. I am a qualified early years practitioner with a foundation degree and have had 12 years experience working with young children and their families.

I chose to become a MamaBabyBliss Teacher as my first and second pregnancies were very different physically and mentally. Having experienced both pregnancy yoga and baby massage with my first I feel this had a very positive impact on my overall experience and I want to help mothers get the very best out of their journey into motherhood. While being able to support both mothers and fathers, my role also allows me to work around my own family, which gives me the chance to enjoy my own children while they are still so young.

We already know that premature babies who are massaged grow twice as quickly as those that aren’t, this is really interesting that it’s now proved that calming music also helps premature babies brain development 💕

Motherhood is a journey and comes with great challenges to women. There is currently a substandard mental health care provision for pregnant women and new mothers in the UK. As many as 1 in 4 women suffer from postnatal depression anxiety or a mental illness during pregnancy or first year of having a baby. The greatest cause of maternal death in the UK is suicide usually when the baby is 6 weeks old. We want to change those shocking statistics.
MamaBabyBliss has a network of ...30 teachers. Through a new project called MamaBabyMERCY, the aim is to enable our teachers to reach out to the most vulnerable communities including, mothers who suffer from perinatal mental illness.
This has come about via this inspiring powerhouse that is Ranji Kent she dedicates her life to supporting families at the most vulnerable times across the world . She is also a children’s nurse in Nottingham . She is part of the Charity Mercy Malaysia UK and she has always been so touched by the work we do here at MamaBabyBliss that she has recently requested that rather than retirement gifts , people will donate to a joint project called MamaBabyMercy that we have created with this charity . Basically , starting in Derby with our MamaAngel Rosie Hibberd , we are looking to roll out a training programme of support that will enable teachers to support Perinatal mental health teams in their vital work by offering massage and yoga to their patients.
In addition Mr Dominic Lawniczak, an Orthopaedic Consultant at Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham is doing the Gruelling Iron Man challenge this Sunday 9th June to raise funds for this project too .
It is incredibly humbling and heartwarming to hear that there are such kind , selfless people out there who want to join our mission.
If you would like to donate to help us make as much impact as possible please follow the link..
Thanks so much and have a great weekend 💕

This morning I am setting off to Brighton for the weekend with a friend to complete a 26.3 mile charity walk for Macmillan tomorrow.
My 5 year old son just came down with this that he has drew me to take away with me. It's me walking under the sky and clouds on my walk and he is giving me his heart 💔
The boy has just made me melt completely. If there is one thing I'm proud of it's the kindness and thoughtfulness that my little man has within him 💓

Did you know our classes aren’t just for babies? We offer toddler classes to. We do yoga and massage to support their development and encourage relaxation building on what we do in baby classes. We also create an environment where explorative play happens because that’s equally important for them to learn and discover. Come and join us and see for yourself....

I know so many of us worry about the world 🌍 our children 👶 and grandchildren will grow up in. It’s great to see some influential companies starting to make some changes. It doesn’t take one big change it takes a lot of people to make a small change and that adds up to a big change.....

A lovely post from our teacher Emma explaining why baby massage is so beneficial and useful for toddlers and children too...

Our bodies are incredible, growing and birthing tiny humans. We need to look after our bodies and allow them to heal. Our Mamabliss Post natal yoga is a great way to start 💕

I have just received this very surprise gift sent to me from one of the mummies and babies that have attended a few of my courses leading up to the point that mum has to return to work.
This has put the biggest smile on my face to know that I have created a space to hold special memories forever between mother and child 🥰💓

I love receiving birth announcements from the ladies in my pregnancy yoga classes. Congratulations to Sarah Haylett on the birth of polly. Sarah completed 2 pregnancy yoga courses and on the last class we all made a joke that the open pose we do will send her in to labour and low and behold the next morning her contractions started a week before her due date and polly arrived safely.
Well done Sarah and I'm so looking forward to getting to meet polly in baby massage 🥰

It is so true you literally cannot pour from an empty cup. ☕ As mums we often neglect ourselves and its important from time to time to find a way to to recharge our batteries and refill our cup to allow us to be the best mums we can. Sometimes that might be a luxurious spa day but often that's just in our dreams. In reality though finding time to sit with a cuppa for 10 mins and take some deep breaths while baby naps, or asking a partner, family member or friend to watch lit...tle one while we have an uninterrupted shower or bath can be really restorative. Whatever it is we encourage you to find a way even if its just a few minutes to relax and refill your cup. You are doing a fantastic job, but its ok to need time for you ☕💜 #youcan'tpourfromanemptycup #refillyourcup #selfcare #rechargeyourbatteries #wellness #selflove #loveyourself #meditation #yoga #mentalhealth #wellbeing #tiredmums #tiredmummy #newmum #mummy #newparent #newborn #mummylife #mummytime #metime #timeforyou #selfcareisntselfish #reviveandrestore #mum #mamababybliss #spreadthebliss #stopandrelax #dishescanwait
