Matlock Farm Park Description

Matlock Farm Park is a family friendly open farm set in a beautiful and tranquil location.
The park has a large selection of animals including llamas, goats, meerkats, turkeys, peacocks, deer, cattle, wallabies, ducks, alpacas and sheep to name but a few.
The pet rabbits are always a favorite with the children along with the opportunity to help feed the young lambs (seasonable). Children will learn about the countryside and have fun alone the way.
Children's parties are catered for and horse riding lessons and pony trekking is also available by advanced booking. There are several play areas too for the kids to let off steam!
There is also a lovely licensed cafe serving homemade meals and snacks.

What a brilliantly organised Children’s party venue; that’s amazing value for money.

We celebrated our son’s 5th birthday here on Sunday with 11 of his friends/family and it was great from start to finish. Phil kept all of the children interested and entertained for Meerkat feeding, Animal Handling and Ferret racing with ease. It was then onto party food and birthday cake, effortlessly sorted by Rian and the cafe team. Finally half an hour in the play barn. Needless to say, they all had a fantastic time, and it was stress free for us as all we supplied were the cake and party bags.

Thank you Matlock Farm Park and well done!

User

We visited today for the first time and it was a lovely day out.

All staff were friendly and helpful especially the gentleman who showed us the baby Meerkat, the food in the cafe was very nice and I loved the option of a ‚Äúsnack plate‚ÄĚ this was perfect for my youngest.

The magician was very funny too and had my daughter in stitches!!

We will definitely be returning in the future, keep up the good work ÔŅĹÔŅĹ

We have not long returned from our daughters 5th birthday party at the Farm today. It was so much fun; 18 children and their parents well accommodated for with friendly staff, nice activities around the park, tasty lunch and fun in the play barn afterwards. It was really relaxed and very reasonably priced. We did animal handling, meet the meerkats and ferret racing. The only thing I would suggest is perhaps an extra staff member and more chairs/order during the animal handling; Phil did really well but there were lots of children to get around for just one staff member. The animals all seemed well cared for and the play barn clean and airy. Our party host was a young lad called Bradley and we cannot praise him enough for his attentiveness, manners and for working hard to make sure the room was prepared, children fed and watered and that we were happy. Would happily recommend the park for a party. Thanks again!

We have had an amazing time here today celebrating our daughters 4th Birthday with a play barn and farm party. The activities (meerkat feeding, walking and feeding the wallabies, animal handling, play barn and pony rides) were absolutely fantastic and everyone including the adults loved it! Phil our party host( I think that was his name ÔŅĹ) was fantastic and nothing was too much trouble. He even organised for our party to have a private ferret racing session which everyone thought was really fun. The new play barn is FANTASTIC! Would definitely recommend for a stress free organised party, all we had to bring was a cake!

We had a lovely day at the farm park today with my 3 year old and family on our 1st visit. The family of 5 ticket worked out good value compared to other attractions. There are all the usual farm animals to feed that you'd expect and more, like feeding wallabies or meeting owls up close. There are good play areas strewn throughout the park and a decent indoor play. There were entertainers (pirates) too when we visited, and events throughout the day. Everything is very well presented and kept, and the staff are friendly. I think the layout works very well, especially with the play areas spread out so they're not super busy. The cafe food seemed a little expensive but the food stand was reasonable and picnics no problem. We have farm parks closer to home but this is my new favourite.

User

We had a great day at the farm with our children and will definitely be visiting again. Our 3yr old loved the play barn, handling the small animals and the pony rides. There's plenty to keep them entertained with lots of space to run around. Would definitely recommend it to family and friends. Thank you to the farm team for a brilliant day!

User

Our first visit here today and I would highly recommend! We did the pre school horse riding session and my little girl loved her half an hour trek through the forest. Also enjoyed the playgrounds and animal handling. All the staff are so friendly and helpful and it’s such good value for money! We will be back soon.

User

On Saturday had my sons 3rd birthday at the park, with the meet the furries, feed the wallabies and meerkat package and it was worth every penny great party experience and the team was A1! Highly recommend, great day out.

User

My little boy had his 1st birthday party here and we all absolutely loved it! The play barn is fab, all the staff couldn’t do enough, food was lovely and all the children loved the animals.. we even had chance to hold the guinepigs, rabbits and a tortoise! I would highly recommend visiting Matlock Farm Park!

User

My Step daughter and I recently visited the farm for a pony trek. I would like to say a big " thank you" to Joe for making the experience so memorable for both of us. So much so we have made plans for a return visit! Hacking through the woods was great fun, and cantering over the fields was unbelievable. Neither of us has stopped talking about it. The horses were so well behaved and clearly happy and well cared for. I would highly recommend a visit to Matlock Park Farm and was great value for money.

User

I spent a fantastic day at the farm with my 3 year old last week, he absolutely loved it. Along with all the animals there are little extra climbing frames/slides etc all the way round to keep him entertained. He loved holding all the small animals especially a tortoise and getting to see a snake was also a highlight... He didn’t want to leave. The staff were all lovely and spent extra time talking to us about the animals when we asked questions. We will definitely be back. Thank you.

User

I cannot praise the park enough today! My daughter has celebrated her 4th Birthday at The farm with her gorgeous group of friends and family... the activities were great with lots of little things happening to keep their interest (the attention span of 4 years olds is short!!). They loved feeding the Meerkats and hearing all about them, the wriggling worms caused some excitement!! The variety of animals they were able to pet was lovely too! Lunchtime came just as the rain did - perfect timing!! Food was good and the staff in the cafe were fantastic! To top it off the horse riding!! Brilliant! All staff, especially Phil who was so patient in moving the crew of little 4 year olds around the farm, were excellent; caring, considerate and fun! We couldn‚Äôt have asked for more. Children left happy, or continued their days as families around the parts of the farm they hadn‚Äôt yet seen! It was fantastic value for money, a great something different to a child‚Äôs party and great customer service! A huge huge thank you to all the team at the farm! Incredibly impressed!! ÔŅĹ

Had our daughters 2nd birthday there in the rainforest play barn. It was amazing, all the staff were so helpful and nice! Totally stress free as they sorted all the food out and the cake ceremony. All the kids loved the play area, and the cafe served lovely hot drinks so the adults were happy too. The whole place as very clean and I honestly can’t say a bad word about it at all. You can see pics of Kyra’s farm cake on the page and although her face doesn’t look all that amused I can promise you she had an absolutely fantastic day. I would highly recommend a party here to any parent that wants a stress free party and a full day out at the farm. Thankyou so much guys!

User

Had a fantastic day at the farm. Lots of hands on activities with the animals. The new indoor area was brill too. All of the staff we dealt with were great, really informative about the animals. Lots of space to picnic but food prices reasonable anyway. ÔŅĹ We all had a great time.

User

Great park, fantastic play areas and activities for children all ages, the new indoor play area is lovely, couldn’t get my son out of there!

The food in the cafe is good and the staff are very friendly and polite!

Prices are very reasonable, we’ve visited many times already and will definitely visit many more times!

User

First visit today....thought it was going to be like white post...it wasn't. BUT that was a good thing. Perfect place for little ones. Just enough animal wise for them to see and interact with along with ferret racing and lamb feeds, with a great balance of play areas to fill in the gaps. We have really enjoyed today....thank you matlock Farm Park. We will be back. Xxxx

User

Came today for my daughters birthday and they did everything to make it special. The staff were so friendly and even though we came 20 minutes after lamb feeding time, they still let my girl feed the lambs. We did pony rides, fed countless animals, held rabbits and chicks, did racing and played on 2 huge play areas (and this didn't include the huge bouncy castle and indoor play area). I would recommend this place to anyone - they made my girls 3rd birthday very special

User

We went today for the reptile event. It was very disorganised and we couldn't actually tell who was running it. They didnt seem to have any knowledge of the animals they were showing. The bouncy castle was also set up in the same room which made it very hard for children to pay attention. I think a few parents were quite frustrated by this.

We also were not allowed to bring our pushchair into the cafe. My daughter is only 4 months old and too small for a high chair. This was very inconvenient for me as I also had my 6 year old and 2 year old who I had to manage in the play area whilst holding her.

User

Unfortunately during our trip to Matlock farm park my one year old daughter was hit in the face by two stones which were flicked up by an employee who was strimming. This could have been a lot worse if she had been hit in the eye. I mentioned it to a member of staff there and he didn’t seem bothered. I have since emailed them and haven’t heard anything back, which is just rude. If you are taking little ones please be wary if they are strimming!
