Buxton Rugby Club, "SUNNYFIELDS", Buxton today
Most awful conditions I can recall for a game to be played in. It never stopped raining quite heavily and a freezing,half gale blew down the pitch. Players were coming off and had to be wrapped in foil to avoid hypothermia. When I got back into my car the temp. was showing as 3 degrees !!!! Fortunately the two Matlock players, Tom Wright & Mike Allen were OK.With Derbyshire leading 28 points to nil the game was abandoned 20 minutes into the second half.

As another season finishes, a special mention must be given to Rory Cookman who played every single 1st XV game this year! 🐝
