Back in June 2017 after going down to view Caravans which were not adapted or suitable, before coming home I was shown Holiday Homes which were adapted, only one was adapted and suitable but would cost £39,000 + £4,000 Decking as well as the £3000 Ground fees. Only £10,000 was in the account at the time from fundraising/collections.
A deposit was put down and the Sales Rep took off £5000 so it would cost £34,000 and the Decking Rep took it down to £2500 so that was a big help... but still a long way off from making it ours for Matts Mission Children's Charity - Making Smiles Glow (So I thought)
Fundraising started straight away and with in 7 months later, £34,000 was paid off, the Decking was paid off and then the £3000 ground fees for 2018. £2000 was also spent on customising the Matts Mission Children's Charity Adapted Holiday Home Respite. I spent the week doing it up to the best possible standards, Sensory lights in the wet room were added and lots of positive quotes and Butterflys and Rainbows which represent the children no longer with us.
Over 27 sick children and families have used the Holiday Home so far and all love it, families have been able to have free respite. The £3000 ground fees for 2019 have been paid as well and only a few limited available dates for 2019 left.
It has been an amazing year for the charity with so many children supported, many on Oxygen or Terminally Ill, Cancer, Meningitis, Cystic Fibrosis, Special Needs.
Available dates left for sick children with an illness or severe disability:

2019: *AVAILABLE* 8-15TH SEPTEMBER. *AVAILABLE* 15-22ND SEPTEMBER.

Another family have completed a holiday respite in the Matts Mission Children's Charity Adapted Holiday Home Respite. inspirational Freya our little buddy who is fighting Cancer and her brother also has autism. They have had a lovely time and loved the Sensory wet room, none of them wanted to leave. We already had another family check in today who have a son also fighting Cancer. Already the 22nd poorly child to use the Caravan of Courage Rainbow Retreat since March. To think... this time June 2017 it was all just a dream and idea, 7 months later £34,000 was paid off, £2000 spent inside to make it a home from home, £2200 on Decking for our disabled visitors and £3000 to pay off this years ground fees. £3000 already paid off for 2019, none of the funds raised were given from big grant awards or big cheques, #Hardwork #Determination #Belief #Passion The breaks are free of charge to all our families.

... Some months are booked for 2019 already so limited dates available now, get in touch if you know a family with a sick child with a life threatening condition or is in a wheel chair and severely ill, we can accept oxygen in the van to which can be delivered.
Everyone using the van will get a free pass to go swimming on site and into the kids club and Entertainment which is a saving of over £200. The holiday £550 usually, is FREE to you but we do have to put a £50 charge per family in place, this covers GAS, ELECTRIC, WATER, CLEANING. This is not payable until 2019.

The decor in the caravan is lovely down to the smallest detail it’s cosy and comfy , the caravan itself is near to attractions and facilities. The amusements and pool is great for families . We are a family of 6 and it suited everyone, me, hubby , 15yo 12yo 10yo and 5yo with 2 children’s parks on site. The local seal sanctuary and horse riding is worth it for anyone interested in animals . We loved it and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves !
