WeŌĆÖve just had a birthday party for my grandsons 3rd birthday in coral reef and I can highly recommend it. The kids loved playing in the reef for an hour then had the buffet sandwich menu which was more than ample with nuggets, pizza, sausages, carrot and cucumber sticks, grapes... finished off with ice cream. Thank you to the catering team and thanks to Chris for supervising the children in the reef ’┐Į

I like going to the meadowside leisure center in burton because there is something for all aged activities for everyone during the day and is a place to chill with friends and to have fun

User

I go to the Meadowside for an aqua aerobics class. I really enjoy the class which is suitable for all levels and abilities - we are always given the easy or hard options. You can work to your own level. I also enjoy chatting to the other ladies before/after the class. And have lunch with friends in the cafe afterwards. Nice choice of healthy food. The staff at the centre are always friendly and helpful.

Not been here for sometime. Took 2 of my children and had a really fun time. We went into both the teaching and main pool and it was great. Plenty of floats etcetera for my children to have fun with. The pool was supervised well at all times. Showers were warm and area clean. The pools were not overcrowded. Fun had by all.

User

I have been working in Burton for the last two weeks and always take advantage of swimming and gyms in the area where I am working

Meadowdide liedure centre is one of the better ones I have visited around the country ALL staff showed kindness and courtesy on my 8 visits reception pool and gym

The car parking is second to none and prices very reasonable as is entry to the centre

The general public need to show respect for facilities they are using and not leave their empty shampoo bottles lying around

Only one downfall on a Wednesday after gym the swimming club sell sweets to raise funds and walking down the stairs after a gruelling gym session it is very tempting but it is a good cause and it would be rude not to

User

Great Zumba class as usual. Even though it was very busy it was still really enjoyable.

The only issue I have is that there's always a problem with the ticket machines. They never both seem to work at the same time and I normally pick the not working one first!

User

Generally, find it great here, but sometimes wonder what's going on. Last Sunday, lights not working in men's shower area and toilets in gym. Appreciate things fail or are faulty sometimes, but still the same this Sunday too?

User

The baby pool is cold and is almost always shut either for classes or for ladies only???, very difficult to time it so my son can go in big pool and I can take my baby into little pool!

User

Pointless trying to get a proper swim. The pool has a lane closed every time I visit so we have less space to swim in and pool is always cold. There's one lane dedicated to lane swimming but this isn't enough as it gets over crowded. Can you have a faster lane swim for quicker swimmers?

User

Coffee over priced if your a member should be cheaper

User

Been trying to call all day to book a squash court tonight for my husband and his friend, no one answering the phones? Maybe you should look into a online booking service if no one is available to take phone bookings.

User

Second time I paid for swimming and had to go home cause there was too many people on a main swimming pool all of them 60+ so there is no chance for a young person for a proper swim cause you have to avoid them people all the time.

Another thing is you see empty lane in the same pool which is closed all the time and you ask the guy if you can use it cause you swim fast and you came here to do SPORT not just stay in a water and wait till someone finish his lap for half an hour and the guy say "no you can't because it is closed" yeah I see but what is the reason "it is just closed" ahh ok thanks for wasting my money and time.

Pool is freezing. Got a 3 and 5 year old who both have blue lips and the shivers whenever they go swimming there. Not recommended

User

I would like to know why Meadowside have allowed swimming tickets to be sold ( with no expiry date on them) and then the people that have tried to use them are told..." You can't use the tickets, they are out of date " I think this is really bad management, and very unfair on the people who have purchased the tickets in good faith !!!!!!

User

First time there won't be going back found toilets to be disgusting when I took my 4 yr old to the toilet. We decided to take our children out of the training pool and go into the main pool then when we tried to go back in we where told there was a long wait I then explained that my 5 month old daughter was wet and she can't wait around and when I asked the manager why they where letting people in knowing the pool was full if we knew this we would of gone somewhere else

User

FIGHTING FOR JUSTICE. How many people get fobbed off by ill informed staff.

Lewis and I attempted to go swimming today at Meadowside. We came home wet but we didn't get to swim! We had books of tickets we bought over a year ago. The staff told us they were out of date! There is no expiry date on them and a statement on the tickets tells us that the T+Cs were on the front cover. There was no mention of an expiry date (see pics). The tickets were still valid. We protested! We were told the duty manager would come to speak with us...he did. First he said our tickets were invalid because we hadn't used the quickly enough and they had put up a sign saying the tickets could not be used. I did point out that we could not have read the sign since we hadn't visited the Meadowside. We protested! Eventually he offered us two swims for our six swim tickets if we bought a "card". We protested! We then waited while he went to phone the manager....this person was introduced as the duty manager! On return the "duty manager" told us "the manager" offered us four swims for our six swim tickets! We protested. Throughout I told him we would take the story to the Burton Mail, the reply was "They do not like us anyway". We gave the "duty manager" that turned out to be a "duty officer" one last chance to give us our six swims that we bought and payed for. I used the analogy that I have bought some first class stamps and can use them whenever I wish, the reply was "We are not the Post Office sir". Lewis and I walked across the road to the Burton Mail office and spoke to Helen Kreft. Neil took our photos outside the Meadowside.

I will be formally asking again for our six swims.

User

Don't take your kids swimming here! The teaching pool is nearly always closed to the public and when it is open its freezing... Dangerous for babies! When I complained to customer service about it, she said the chemicals wouldn't work if she heated it up -tosh! I asked to see their temperature chat and it confirmed that the pool was at 29degrees- should be 32 for babies and 30 for older kids.....

Waste of money and a bad attitude to the general public
