Today was mine and my husbands first visit. We went with our friends for one of their birthdays. We didnt mention it was a birthday celebration as the birthday girl wouldnt let us. However we were treated like royalty... the service was the best we have ever experienced. Peter was friendly, welcoming and helpful. The food was amazing and reasonably priced for the portion sizes, in fact they are very generous. The rhubarb martini is just delicious, the Prosecco and beer were also very nice. We will definitely be returning with our children and parents. Really liked the function room and its decor very in keeping with the medieval theme.

Service was very good as all staff members were so friendly and attentive. Peter was our waiter for the evening and made us feel very welcome. The food was fresh and tasted great.



Venison and grilled fish (bream/trout) were especially good. The building is also really well decorated.



Also if you like ale, try the dark house ale.

My friend took me for an impromptu lunch today. They have an exceptionally reasonable lunch time menu. The

Restaurant is very different to any I have been in before. The waiter service was excellent and the food delicious. What I didn’t realise about this place is that they cater for vegans and vegetarians. I had a delicious vegetarian dish and my friend a chicken dish. Thank you so much for making a mid week lunch so enjoyable x

By far the best food we have tasted in a long time. Everything cooked fresh and beautifully flavoured. Service was much quicker than the last time we came on Valentines Day and were treated to free prosecco, red wine and desserts as they were so happy that we returned. Wonderful experience and can’t wait to go back! Thank you Peter and all your lovely, attentive staff.
