Melbourne Sporting Partnership Description
The Melbourne Sporting Partnership was established in 2005 to bring together interested parties to drive improvements to the recreation site (‘the Rec’) at Cockshut Lane, Melbourne. The Partnership includes local sports clubs, Melbourne Parish Council and South Derbyshire District Council. It will seek funding to upgrade the facilities as a resource for the collective development of local clubs, and then take overall responsibility for their sustainable delivery.

The Dark Horse Festival event was excellent. It began with a fantastic video promotion by James Austin. And ticket sales leapt! The room was set up by Dave Goalen to create an intimate setting for a cabaret style evening. And then Dark Horse arrived. From the first tuning up, people who arrived early were foot tapping. And once the event got going, the audience were transported to Ireland and the Southern states of America, via Liverpool and Scotland. With a nod to the charts en route. It was a fabulous evening with great feedback. Which mostly consisted of 'When can we do it again?" Very well done to Dark Horse and the MSP team. And a big thank you to the audience who came out on a Sunday evening after a busy Festival weekend.
A super facility and a genuine sense of everyone being welcome, young and old, no matter what their sporting persuasion may or may not be.
A great facility for the sports clubs to use, something that has been needed for some time. Well done all those who helped make it happen.
Great playing fields though up here now and we can't use the toilets and the bar is closed
