Fleas have voracious appetites! Adult fleas infest the pet and feed directly from capillaries and begin to feed within a few minutes (typically 5-10 mins). Did you also know an adult female flea can ingest about 15x her body weight in blood in one go? Therefore, heavy infestations on puppies and kittens may cause anaemia and can sadly lead to death. The Hedgehog Tick (Ixodes hexagonus) is the most common tick affecting cats in urban areas, and is 1 of the most common ticks affecting cats in the UK (the other being Ixodes ricinus). Ticks can transmit Lyme disease, so protect your pets! #TickProtection #HedgehogTick
