One of my favourite places!

Fantastic staff, accommodation, food, drink and spa! Makes for a brilliant relaxing break.

We've been with two children for a stay over, which we all really enjoyed (kids loved the pool).

We've been just as a couple a few times and used the spa and treatments, which are amazing.

Lovely building in a great setting and very convenient being just off the motorway.

User

Been today with my friend for the time to melt package in the spa ... excellent treatments enjoyed every minute, thanks to the girls Shannon and Charlotte for an amazing experience... and Lesley in the reception/cafe for looking after us really well ... definitely recommend..

User

Stayed over last night for my fiancé birthday had the spa BB and evening meal package and I have to say we had a lovely time staff were excellent food superb enjoyed the spa Mrs had a massage this morning which she was very happy with, not much to pick at really although I did pay for champagne 🍾 and rose petals in the room unfortunately the rose petals didn’t show after waiting for over 1.1/2hr for our privalidge room to be ready (we did have a complementary drink whist we waited) though.

Over all happy with our stay will certainly return hopefully to room 709 as the piece and quiet was bliss with lovely scenery...

User

Nice hotel, pleasant grounds . Was given a 'free' upgrade, I think this was possibly because there were 2 wedding functions ,therefore moving us as far away from the noise as possible. The last time I stayed I was in a room overlooking the wedding party , the noise went on into the night, didn't bother me though as I like to know people are having fun,but if this would bother you , it's probably best to check with staff before going to your room as a lot of rooms are affected by noise from the function room .Never used any of the facilities so unfair to comment. The hotel is a bit disjointed , we had to walk to our room through the bar where there was a wedding party celebrating ,felt a bit uncomfortable and I'm certain if I were the bride/ groom I wouldn't be overly pleased that hotel guests had to use that particular walkway to get to their rooms.

The room itself was very spacious , quiet and clean. The bed was large and very comfortable, the mini fridge , which was slightly too big for the cabinet it was stored in, provided us with a few 'free' treats . The hotel is grubby in places and the smells walking through are not great, however,to re carpet and decorate would be a million pound affair so understand that it's not financially viable. On the whole it's a lovely hotel, the staff are friendly , the rooms are more than adequate . I would stay there again , no problem , very reasonably priced.

User

My time at the Dunkenhalgh hotel wasn't overly memorable but that was down to the fact I was attending a Speed Awareness Course there. But the boardroom I was in was well furnished with excellent tea and coffee making facilities. My arrival at the hotel was one of shame and remorse for my speeding conviction but was overly impressed with the stunning building. I would very much like to stay at the hotel but under circumstances where I haven't broke the law.

User

Me and my husband have just had a 1 night stay this weekend. We had a lovely time, hotel is stunning the rooms are clean we had been upgrade to an executive room which was spacious bed was very comfortable. The only down side of this we didn’t have any hot water so showering cold water wasn’t pleasant. We did report this and the staff said they would send the guy to fix the boiler but unfortunately this wasn’t fixed. On checking out and speaking to the manager Neil he was very apologetic and we excepted some refund off our bill. The spa/pool area was relaxing and you could spend some time chilling on lounge beds, swimming saunas and steam room also spa treatments, also there is a bar area. We had 2 course evening meal and drinks in the bar good service and staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast next morning was delicious and lots of choice as much as you could eat full English, cereals fruits, cheese etc this list was endless. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you

User

A large historic looking building, with very spacious rooms. We had an executive double that was huge and where you don't feel hemmed in. A bit of a hike mind from reception so Fitbit enthusiasts would be delighted. The swimming pool and thermal spa are again spacious and clean, but perhaps needing some TLC to lift its standard. Restaurant and food was great so no complaints from us.

User

This is such a grand building that you easily get lost in. It has a really decent gym and swimming pool.

The bedroom I stayed in was very spacious and comfortable. The only criticism about my room was the dim lights. They weren’t bright enough to read my book, so I had to use my torch from my mob to see the words! The food in the restaurant was quite nice but some dishes weren’t as described - sweet potato and black bean chill was sweet potato with 2 kidney beans in a tomato sauce. There was no heat or chilli taste at all. The bar area was comfortable to sit in but the wine was expensive. 2 large glasses of wine were £15! I’d suggest people look at the price of a bottle. I’d definitely stay again if I need to return for work.

User

Staff and hotel are fantastic, but I couldn't really say the same for the food, hmmmmm! You don't get a great deal for the money you pay, and I think that the restaurant should have a completely separate food menu from the bar. The specials menu, which is £22 for 3 courses wouldn't fill a squirrel in my opinion, put it this way, if it hadn't been a Sunday evening I would have gone out and found a pub to start all over again!

Other than that everything was fine, a touch of paint and tlc wouldn't go amiss neither.

All in all, a pleasurable experience, but I doubt I'll be returning.

User

Spoke to other members Gym & pool area seem to have problems way too often and not what you expect for the price of a membership. Don’t get me wrong I enjoy coming on a regular basis, but lack of info and facilities not working specially this month! just don’t get what you paying for needs some tlc

User

It was okay.... Looks amazing on the way in and some parts are very smart, but our room ('Classic' style) felt like the furniture had worked it's way down from better rooms! The dining chair at the desk was grubby and had paint on it, and the sofa was saggy with ripped fabric. Lunch in the Cameo bar took ages to come and the chairs were stained. Our room was a long walk away from reception etc, but that did mean it was quiet. The room was clean though and the bed was really comfy. Breakfast was busy but tasty food. Staff are friendly and the grounds are lovely.

User

A lovely looking building in a nice setting. My husband and I stayed for a wedding. Our room was very quiet and clean although the matress was a bit lumpy. There was only 3 milks in the complements box so could only have 1 brew each. We found all the staff in the bar friendly but drinks were priced a bit high. The breakfast was good quality but it was a shame they were unable to keep the food topped up. There was either no orange juice or bread or pastries and the cooked items were rarely available at the same time.

User

Just stayed over after a works Christmas party. Room size was great however the mattresses on the beds were way past due for replacement. Sunk straight down and could feel the frame underneath. Decor is dated but at the end of the day it was a clean warm room for sleeping in. However! DO NOT order room service... total rip off. My colleagues ordered sandwiches after the party was over as starving! What a rip off, they left a lot to be desired and massively expensive for what we actually got!

User

We stayed there for 1 night.. thank god!!!!! The room was Tiny.. the window was like a letter box.. the bathroom looked like something from titanic 3rd class... we got food there which was something from the 3 for a £10 in iceland.. the service was a joke. But the hotel looked nice from the outside.
