We've just been for a lovely meal at this pub,always had breakfast there and been very pleased,this was our first time eating dinner there. All had mixed grills and they were spot on. Service was by a young lad called Declan B, his service was brilliant and couldn't do enough for us. I don't normally leave reviews but I over heard the couple sat behind us complain quite rudely about the food and service and although I can't comment on there meal the service was above and beyond. Well done for employing great staff x

Once again an excellent meal with fantastic service from Louis. He greeted us at the door, took us to our table, took our drinks order and on returning with the drinks took our food order. He was efficient, pleasant and willing to adapt the food to our requests. The meals were brought very quickly and once again by Louis (he had also played his part in the cooking of them). Fantastic time was had by all, and we will certainly be returning. Well done Louis �

Great place clean and comfy food was lovely but was the service from Alice that made it for us thanks keep up watering the plastic plants from 2 coach drivers

Went for my dads birthday food and service was excellent. Just a shame that the steak I ordered was a bit tough. But never mind dad got a free glass of wine out of it lol.

What a palaver yesterday.. the car park is being ripped up to build 27 more rooms for the premier but it's the disabled places that are being ripped up. To park as close to the entrance as possible my husband had to take my wheelchair out then park as there was no room to get it out once parked I won't be going again until this has been completed able bodied people may think this is trivial but when you are in immense pain 24/7 things that seem simple when you are fit and well and that you take for granted are extremely difficult and inconvenient. And last time I came friendly servers that are normally lovely ignored me and when I tried to engage with them could hardly get a word out of them and it was the same yesterday no smiles no banter I don't know what I've done but surely servers are meant to be welcoming We used to come almost every week when I was feeling strong enough but there are other places I'll be going to with easier parking and less contrary staff

Staff very friendly but really need some customer and service training, the waitresses bring your food out and and walk off almost straight away without asking if you have everything or need anything else we had ordered additional vegitables and couldn’t manage to grab anyone’s eye until we have virtually eaten all the dinner, when the young lady came over we mentioned about the veg that was missing and before I had finished talking as I was going to say pleas just take it off the bill as it too late as we’re finished she had already rushed off to get it, seeing our plates was empty !

When she bought the veg out we explained it was too late as we had finished the dinner and again she dashed off,

Surely once served a staff member should come back within a min or two to confirm all is ok and if you require anything else, also as they are walking around the restaurant they should be looking around to see anyone needs anything instead of looking at the floor,

The rest of the staff was busy setting up the breakfast bar and it was only 20:30 they should of been loooking after the customers, we didn’t bother with deserts as wasn’t asked

Really not good service and I believe this is probably down to lack of training of staff

Went with the family to celebrate a birthday and have a nice relaxing evening. On arrival was told they had no record of my telephoned booking. Eventually got table for eight people. Beer was dreadful so perhaps as well my glass was not full to top. The service for the starter was slow but nothing compared to the hour we had to wait for the main course. Do these places not care if you return or not. Family was good company though.

Went for the first time to this Beefeater in Burton-on-Trent to try their vegan burger. Food was lovely however will never return to this specific one. The waitress was extremely rude and unprofessional. Before we even sat down me and my brother were asked what drinks we wanted, I chose an orange juice and when it came I took 2 or 3 sips but it just didn’t taste right. I then asked the waitress if I could change the drink because it just tasted like it was expired and was told that that’s just how orange juice tastes and that I could have other drink but would still have to pay for the orange juice!? When the food arrived I asked her to speak with the manager, she then questioned if it was due to wanting to change my drink for what I replied that I would not pay for a drink that I would not drink. She proceeded to change it without any more questions but she seemed very arsey about it. Really bad experience! Only not giving 1 star because the food was actually good.

Went for breakfast yesterday and what a very disappointing experience. After paying on arrival we found our own table and was told to help ourselves. There was no cups for the luke warm coffee and when eventually finding a member staff it seemed to be a major task. There was cutlery on the tables but no spoons for the cereals. Members of staff were very sparse and not one person came over to see if everything was ok. The whole place looked dirty, floors needed hoovering and the table next to us needed clearing away but in the 45 minutes we was at the premises it was not even looked at. There was large cobwebs around the light fittings that had clearly been there a while as they had a covering of dust on them. We will not be returning anytime soon which is a shame as it used to be of such a high standard.

This place used to be a great place to visit and well run, how ever today was a joke a meal for two no starters and no dessert and we was in there for 2 and quarter hours, We was greeted and seated straight away and a drinks order was taken, We was then told by the waitress ill be back in a couple of minutes to take your order yet twenty five minutes later i had to ask another passing waitress to take our order .

It was not busy as when we was seated there was only two other couples in the restaurant, yet it toke another 35 minutes for our food to arrive, so it was almost a hour from receiving our drinks to the meals come, Not acceptable especially seeing it was quiet and plenty of staff stood about, And when the empty plates had been taken and we refrained from desserts as we did not have another hour to waste, no one offered us or brought the bill and i had to go up to a waitress at the till and ask to pay, In total we was in the pub for 135 minutes and just had one drink and a meal, and this was on a quiet sunday afternoon.

Arrived at 12:40 and never got to leave to 14:55.



the service was extremely poor and unacceptable, How ever top marks to the chef as the food was delightful its a shame we had this experience as Its a nice pub and does serve good food but let down badly by the service.

Arrived to ding a queue of customers waiting to be seated , couple at the front said stuff this been waiting ages , and left , to be fair there was definitely a shortage of staff only saw 2 staff, customers leaving saying it took 20/30 mins for bill to arrive and had waited an hour for food ,eventually got seated asked about waiting time was told 40/45 mins , so we ordered , food was very good but was definitely understaffed as they were very busy as to be expected at Xmas , hasn’t put me off going again

However we was expected to pay for our full breakfast before we had even sat down, which we have never had to before on previous visits. The waitress was lovely and friendly and came over to take mine and my partners order promptly. Whilst taking our order she informed me that there was no hash browns which I was absolutely gutted about as that is my favourite part of a breakfast. Upon having our food come out, my beans were cold and so were my eggs, my partners beans and eggs were also cold and his black pudding was soggy and full with water, no staff member came to check on us and ask if everything was ok, which resulted in me and my partner just leaving. This restaurant has really gone down hill which is a shame because the food used to be lovely. There used to be lots of choice on the continental breakfast, now there is only toast and croissants. We will not be returning.

The 1 star was for the waiter. Terrible food, no heating in the restaurant, no coffee as the machine was broken. It was empty when we arrived. We had to wait 40 minutes for our cold food while the staff stood talking. The food was disgusting my 2 year old granddaughters fish had been put into cold oil. I felt sorry for the waiter he couldn’t apologise enough. We sent all our food back. Eventually the manager came over and said she was sorry and they wouldn’t charge us for the food, as if I would have paid. I would say to everybody don’t waste your money going to that restaurant.

Still can't quite believe what's just happened! I wanted to order fillet steak and garlic potatoes instead of chips. As soon as I asked for garlic potatoes I was told "you can't do that"! I asked what the waitress meant and apparently there are only certain sides you can swap for and garlic potatoes isn't one of them! She kept apologising and said it's not her fault but I can't order that as it's not available on the till. I said I'm happy to pay for them as an extra but no, I still couldn't do that. She started talking to me about stock levels and how it works on the till. I told her I wasn't interested and asked her to bring me the bill for the drinks as we want to leave. Off she marched and then reappeared at a till with the manager, Josh. He was pointing something out to her on the till so the next thing she appears back at our table ordering me to go and look at the till with her so she can explain why I can't order what I want to order. I refused! The manager Josh hid in the back! This has been a regular dining place since it opened some years ago and we have probably spent most Friday evenings there. I vow to never set foot in the place again! Completely disgusted!

Not great experience, service was not what you would expect in a pub/restaurant. Food was below average. Waitress was rude and is in the wrong industry. It was my wife's birthday and luckily we went to decent restaurant in button for dinner, as if this would have been her birthday meal would ahbe spoiled what had been up to then a great day. Get more attentive staff who want to look after there customers and enjoy being hospitable. We won't be visiting here again.

Very slow service and when we did get served our steak was so disappointing, The starter potato dippers were like a bag of old wood shavings with a bowl of sick plonked in the middle. The steak was ordered medium but came mooing. When the young girl came to ask how it all was literally 2 mins later ... we responded - not great actually, a bit fatty and not very succulent but we'd carried on. 5 mins in we got more and more disappointed my partner's steak was blood red and mine was just fat. The young girl came back and we explained that we were unhappy but talked about some ' first check back' which had already been input into the system and therefore couldn't do anything (errr computer says no??). They did deduct the big steak but didn't enter into any negotiation about the second one although we were very disappointed If it was a £8/9 steak I would have tolerated it but at £17 and £22 it was a rip off!! We paid a £45 bill which I can only describe as deeply disappointing. If you like a decent steak - AVOID! Terrible service and food

Had a terrible experience. Got there with my boyfriend, seated. Ordered drinks, starters and mains. Chicken wings were freezing cold to the bone. Told the waitresses, waitresses were rude. Finished drinks and starter. Plates and empty glasses left on table. Bought out our mains out while dirty plates were still there. Didn’t give us more drinks. Went the whole of main menu thirsty. Tried to get several waitresses attention throughout whole main menu just for a drink. No one asked us how our food was throughout the whole visit. Waitresses rude, inconsistent, telling other waitresses so we were getting pointed and looked at. Very disruptive experience. For a special occasion as well. Disappointed. £60 bill for that...don’t think I will return again.

The whole place looked dirty, floors needed hoovering and the table next to us needed clearing away but in the 45 minutes we was at the premises it was not even looked at. There was large cobwebs around the light fittings that had clearly been there a while as they had a covering of dust on them. We will not be returning anytime soon which is a shame as it used to be of such a high standard.

This place used to be a great place to visit and well run, how ever today was a joke a meal for two no starters and no dessert and we was in there for 2 and quarter hours, We was greeted and seated straight away and a drinks order was taken, We was then told by the waitress ill be back in a couple of minutes to take your order yet twenty five minutes later i had to ask another passing waitress to take our order .

It was not busy as when we was seated there was only two other couples in the restaurant, yet it toke another 35 minutes for our food to arrive, so it was almost a hour from receiving our drinks to the meals come, Not acceptable especially seeing it was quiet and plenty of staff stood about, And when the empty plates had been taken and we refrained from desserts as we did not have another hour to waste, no one offered us or brought the bill and i had to go up to a waitress at the till and ask to pay, In total we was in the pub for 135 minutes and just had one drink and a meal, and this was on a quiet sunday afternoon.

Arrived at 12:40 and never got to leave to 14:55.



the service was extremely poor and unacceptable, How ever top marks to the chef as the food was delightful its a shame we had this experience as Its a nice pub and does serve good food but let down badly by the service.

Arrived to ding a queue of customers waiting to be seated , couple at the front said stuff this been waiting ages , and left , to be fair there was definitely a shortage of staff only saw 2 staff, customers leaving saying it took 20/30 mins for bill to arrive and had waited an hour for food ,eventually got seated asked about waiting time was told 40/45 mins , so we ordered , food was very good but was definitely understaffed as they were very busy as to be expected at Xmas , hasn’t put me off going again

Arrived for breakfast this morning with my partner, it took 10 minutes for us to be acknowledged and seated (it wasn't busy). However we was expected to pay for our full breakfast before we had even sat down, which we have never had to before on previous visits. The waitress was lovely and friendly and came over to take mine and my partners order promptly. Whilst taking our order she informed me that there was no hash browns which I was absolutely gutted about as that is my favourite part of a breakfast. Upon having our food come out, my beans were cold and so were my eggs, my partners beans and eggs were also cold and his black pudding was soggy and full with water, no staff member came to check on us and ask if everything was ok, which resulted in me and my partner just leaving. This restaurant has really gone down hill which is a shame because the food used to be lovely. There used to be lots of choice on the continental breakfast, now there is only toast and croissants. We will not be returning.

The 1 star was for the waiter. Terrible food, no heating in the restaurant, no coffee as the machine was broken. It was empty when we arrived. We had to wait 40 minutes for our cold food while the staff stood talking. The food was disgusting my 2 year old granddaughters fish had been put into cold oil. I felt sorry for the waiter he couldn’t apologise enough. We sent all our food back. Eventually the manager came over and said she was sorry and they wouldn’t charge us for the food, as if I would have paid. I would say to everybody don’t waste your money going to that restaurant.

Still can't quite believe what's just happened! I wanted to order fillet steak and garlic potatoes instead of chips. As soon as I asked for garlic potatoes I was told "you can't do that"! I asked what the waitress meant and apparently there are only certain sides you can swap for and garlic potatoes isn't one of them! She kept apologising and said it's not her fault but I can't order that as it's not available on the till. I said I'm happy to pay for them as an extra but no, I still couldn't do that. She started talking to me about stock levels and how it works on the till. I told her I wasn't interested and asked her to bring me the bill for the drinks as we want to leave. Off she marched and then reappeared at a till with the manager, Josh. He was pointing something out to her on the till so the next thing she appears back at our table ordering me to go and look at the till with her so she can explain why I can't order what I want to order. I refused! The manager Josh hid in the back! This has been a regular dining place since it opened some years ago and we have probably spent most Friday evenings there. I vow to never set foot in the place again! Completely disgusted!

Not great experience, service was not what you would expect in a pub/restaurant. Food was below average. Waitress was rude and is in the wrong industry. It was my wife's birthday and luckily we went to decent restaurant in button for dinner, as if this would have been her birthday meal would ahbe spoiled what had been up to then a great day. Get more attentive staff who want to look after there customers and enjoy being hospitable. We won't be visiting here again.

Very slow service and when we did get served our steak was so disappointing, The starter potato dippers were like a bag of old wood shavings with a bowl of sick plonked in the middle. The steak was ordered medium but came mooing. When the young girl came to ask how it all was literally 2 mins later ... we responded - not great actually, a bit fatty and not very succulent but we'd carried on. 5 mins in we got more and more disappointed my partner's steak was blood red and mine was just fat. The young girl came back and we explained that we were unhappy but talked about some ' first check back' which had already been input into the system and therefore couldn't do anything (errr computer says no??). They did deduct the big steak but didn't enter into any negotiation about the second one although we were very disappointed If it was a £8/9 steak I would have tolerated it but at £17 and £22 it was a rip off!! We paid a £45 bill which I can only describe as deeply disappointing. If you like a decent steak - AVOID! Terrible service and food

Had a terrible experience. Got there with my boyfriend, seated. Ordered drinks, starters and mains. Chicken wings were freezing cold to the bone. Told the waitresses, waitresses were rude. Finished drinks and starter. Plates and empty glasses left on table. Bought out our mains out while dirty plates were still there. Didn’t give us more drinks. Went the whole of main menu thirsty. Tried to get several waitresses attention throughout whole main menu just for a drink. No one asked us how our food was throughout the whole visit. Waitresses rude, inconsistent, telling other waitresses so we were getting pointed and looked at. Very disruptive experience. For a special occasion as well. Disappointed. £60 bill for that...don’t think I will return again.

We've just been for a lovely meal at this pub,always had breakfast there and been very pleased,this was our first time eating dinner there. All had mixed grills and they were spot on. Service was by a young lad called Declan B, his service was brilliant and couldn't do enough for us. I don't normally leave reviews but I over heard the couple sat behind us complain quite rudely about the food and service and although I can't comment on there meal the service was above and beyond. Well done for employing great staff x

Once again an excellent meal with fantastic service from Louis. He greeted us at the door, took us to our table, took our drinks order and on returning with the drinks took our food order. He was efficient, pleasant and willing to adapt the food to our requests. The meals were brought very quickly and once again by Louis (he had also played his part in the cooking of them). Fantastic time was had by all, and we will certainly be returning. Well done Louis �

What a palaver yesterday.. the car park is being ripped up to build 27 more rooms for the premier but it's the disabled places that are being ripped up. To park as close to the entrance as possible my husband had to take my wheelchair out then park as there was no room to get it out once parked I won't be going again until this has been completed able bodied people may think this is trivial but when you are in immense pain 24/7 things that seem simple when you are fit and well and that you take for granted are extremely difficult and inconvenient. And last time I came friendly servers that are normally lovely ignored me and when I tried to engage with them could hardly get a word out of them and it was the same yesterday no smiles no banter I don't know what I've done but surely servers are meant to be welcoming We used to come almost every week when I was feeling strong enough but there are other places I'll be going to with easier parking and less contrary staff

Staff very friendly but really need some customer and service training, the waitresses bring your food out and and walk off almost straight away without asking if you have everything or need anything else we had ordered additional vegitables and couldn’t manage to grab anyone’s eye until we have virtually eaten all the dinner, when the young lady came over we mentioned about the veg that was missing and before I had finished talking as I was going to say pleas just take it off the bill as it too late as we’re finished she had already rushed off to get it, seeing our plates was empty !

When she bought the veg out we explained it was too late as we had finished the dinner and again she dashed off,

Surely once served a staff member should come back within a min or two to confirm all is ok and if you require anything else, also as they are walking around the restaurant they should be looking around to see anyone needs anything instead of looking at the floor,

The rest of the staff was busy setting up the breakfast bar and it was only 20:30 they should of been loooking after the customers, we didn’t bother with deserts as wasn’t asked

Went with the family to celebrate a birthday and have a nice relaxing evening. On arrival was told they had no record of my telephoned booking. Eventually got table for eight people. Beer was dreadful so perhaps as well my glass was not full to top. The service for the starter was slow but nothing compared to the hour we had to wait for the main course. Do these places not care if you return or not. Family was good company though.

Went for the first time to this Beefeater in Burton-on-Trent to try their vegan burger. Food was lovely however will never return to this specific one. The waitress was extremely rude and unprofessional. Before we even sat down me and my brother were asked what drinks we wanted, I chose an orange juice and when it came I took 2 or 3 sips but it just didn’t taste right. I then asked the waitress if I could change the drink because it just tasted like it was expired and was told that that’s just how orange juice tastes and that I could have other drink but would still have to pay for the orange juice!? When the food arrived I asked her to speak with the manager, she then questioned if it was due to wanting to change my drink for what I replied that I would not pay for a drink that I would not drink. She proceeded to change it without any more questions but she seemed very arsey about it. Really bad experience! Only not giving 1 star because the food was actually good.
