Wonderful experience; we were served by a helpful and highly knowledgeable member of staff who didn't try to force any brand or product on us and even suggested we sign up for the Mothercare Club to get 20% off the maternity wear I already had in my basket. Overall, great experience!

Never ever had bad customer service in this store. Staff always very friendly and helpful, giving us plenty of time and allowing us to try things in the car (bought the travel system from here before our son was born and today bought a new carseat as he is 6 months old). Great store.

I've just filled out a feedback form but I just wanted to publicly praise mothercare Derby for my experience today. 10% off at the expectant parent event was fab on our pushchair and Charlotte the sales assistant was brilliant; if she didn't know the answer (very new product) then she knew where to find it. She was also very good with my daughter getting her toys to distract her and we had a laugh in the process of the purchase! So over the moon and can't wait for my pushchair to arrive!

User

Fantastic staff, we went today to look at a new car seat for my lb and the staff where very knowledgeable and helpful. They even helped us with our current seat to ensure maximum safety. They where none pushy and really seemed to put our needs over a sale i.e don't actually need to buy a new seat yet as ours is fine after a few adjustments! We ended up getting a new one anyways but still.... they even price matched for us xx

Exceptional customer service from Lisa deputy store manager today! An asset to your company who understands how to deal with a negative instance & ensure the customer walks away happy & feeling positive about Mothercare as a brand.

User

Just watched the article on the BBC news regarding Mothercare, customer service within the stores was criticized. I feel this is unfair, they are short staffed. I found your staff to be excellent in explaining and fitting a car seat, thank you. Prams, car seats, shoes etc all require specialist customer service and this takes time and patience and this is very difficult when there are so few of you.

Yesterday I drove to the Mothercare store on the wyvern, derby to ask someone to check the straps on my daughters car seat. They seem to have moved down so she wasn't secured in safely. I parked right by the doors & went into the very quiet shop to ask for assistance. The lady I spoke to asked for proof of purchase- which I didn't have with me as the seat is over 12 months old & I was just nipping in.

She told me she wouldn't help me without the receipt.

I asked her why & she told me its because it's part of the aftercare they offer when u purchase from them & that lots of people could just claim they bought their car seat from Mothercare in order to get assistance.

So she would not help me.

She took longer explaining why she couldn't help me than it would have taken to actually pop out to my car. I literally needed her to show me how to move the straps higher & I told her that.

I would like to point out that she was very pleasant& polite, however I'm still stunned that she refused to help me.

The shop was very quiet, I was parked just by the doors & it's a child safety issue!

Who in their right mind wouldn't help in this situation??

Even if it were a goodwill gesture I can't imagine refusing someone in my position.

As it happens I did purchase the £250 seat from you along with my £1250 bugaboo donkey and numerous other bits along the way.

I'm a decent customer - however even if I wasn't the issue still remains that I was refused assistance in keeping my 2 year old daughter correctly strapped into her car seat.

I'm frankly disgusted.

I sincerely hope that it isn't your policy to refuse help without proof of purchase

Wish I'd read these reviews before I spent £200 on a car seat which is far too big for my car and my daughter is not happy or comfy in! Rude staff, some say one thing, others say different, terrible service!

I'd advise anyone to avoid this place!!!!!

User

Went in to look for some things for my son in the sale. Lots of things mis-priced or not priced at all. Ask staff members who just tell you rudely that it's not the price on the ticket. Shocking

We brought the Joie Chrome Pushchair and car seat in August 2015 and had been happy with the level of service given at the time. However we visited the store a few weeks later and found that the same pushchair/ car seat was on a bundle offer, offering the carry cot as well at the price we had paid just a few weeks before. We spoke to a member of the team and said how gutted we are and had we known this offer was going to happen we would have waited. The assistant then offered to help us by doing a refund and re sell so that we could take advantage of this offer. Great we thought at the time. The only set back was that although Mothercare are advertising the pushchair, the car seat and the carry cot they didn't have the carry cot in stock, the assistant advised that she would put us down for one and that we should receive an email in the coming days, 2 weeks have passed and no email. We have just been to the store tonight to enquire about the order and spoken to either a manager or assistant manger. We explained the above and I have to say that I have never been treated with such contempt anywhere else but here. We produced a copy of a receipt with our order number but rather than check the system a diary was flung on to the counter and pages were being hurriedly flicked through whilst huffing and puffing. We then got told that as there is nothing in this diary they would not honour the above and was that OK?. Not really but with shocking customer service like that what can you do. So thank you mother are but no thank you I will now take my business else where and urge others to do so to. You can find most of of the things they sell on line cheaper any way and you don't have to put up with rubbish customer service..

We bought a Joie addapt car seat yesterday for our one year old and had it fitted, rear facing by a member of staff at mothercare. I noticed when I got my daughter out the car seat moved, this concerned me. I pulled the tension on the seat belt to make sure the seat was properly secured and no longer moved. I sat down with the instruction manual for the car seat as I now had an uneasy feeling. Thank goodness I did! Reading the installation instructions they talk about a locking clip. We had been shown twice how to fit this car seat at mothercare, once with the display model to ensure it fits in our car and again when the staff member fitted our seat we purchased. On neither occasion was there any mention of a locking clip! I went out to the car to investigate and found the locking clip still stored in its bag on the seat, and even more worryingly, the seat belt was only passed through one of the shoulder belt slots on the back of the seat! I have now refitted the seat myself using the instruction manual. Never again would I trust someone at mothercare to fit my child’s car seat, thank goodness our journeys on the afternoon we purchased the seat were safe ones!!!

User

Waiting more then 40mins to be seen at the car seat section with 1 member of staff on!!! thought they would have more staff on with it being a Saturday and sales!!

User

Very disappointed with staff knowledge - wanted to purchase a next 2 me crib - big sign saying 20% off. After asking several staff members and getting fobbed off due to lack of knowledge we asked for a manager and eventually dismissively told the sign there didn't apply to the next 2 you crib and anyway they're out of stock not impressed with staff knowledge !

User

To be fair at least the staff in this store actually acknowledge you not like the Nottingham one. My problem is why employ staff that know nothing about car seats but put them selling car seats. I was trying to ask your saleswoman a question about the seat and she blatantly ignored me to play with the kid which is great that she's showing an interest In my child it's just we're trying to buy a car seat stop ignoring me and do your job..... Just a suggestion for the boss..... Actually visit your shops once in a while and see what a sham they are

User

Some great products in store however We found the customer service absolutely shocking! Will not be returning to this store.

Ordered an item for click and collect on 23/7/2016 and it was due in store on the 26/07/2016 however when I went to collect it I was told by a very nice but extremely despondent sales adviser that my item probably wouldn't be in the store room as they are having huge problems with yodel and lots of items are missing from the delivery, my item wasn't there and I was told to try after the weekend (that would be almost a week after I should have picked my item up and almost a week after my son needed the item) but he couldn't guarantee my item would turn up at all? Remind me Mothercare . . . If I order and pay for an item why is it acceptable to be told it might not turn up? We should have read the reviews before spending our money as it would seem it is common practice for mothercare to take customers money promise a delivary or a collection and then not provide the items? I would avoid ordering from mothercare otherwise you run the risk of having to spend a huge amount of time trying to find out when you will get your item that you have paid for! I'll leave you with the sales assistants parting words to me as I left empty handed (and £45 out of pocket) "just think what its going to be like at Christmas, lots of disappointed kids and annoyed parent's!!"

Next time we are buying from Toys R Us or Amazon at least they can provide the items when they say they will!

User

Ordered a walker for my 1 year olds birthday, not all the parts were contained inside the box and the staff would not help by sending me out my missing pieces! Good job my son didn't understand that several pieces were missing

User

Mothercare have absolutely been the worst company I have ever dealt with in my whole life. Highly unrecommended!! If something goes wrong your screwed... 2 months and no wardrobe. Boycott Mothercare. #complusiveliars

User

I bought a mattress from this store thinking mothercare was a reputable name! On trying to return the mattress in the same condition as bought was accused of Lying by the manageress! Very poor customer service! However the complaints service though the telephone were excellent and extremely helpful! I will no longer be shopping instore at the Wyvern!
