I have this little beauty up for auction this evening. As things stand, she's destined for South Korea. I wonder what the person that sat and stitched her back in the 30's would make of that. I don't think of this as very old, yet in that passage of time our world has changed immeasurably. <3

Darling bits of May. A few of the treasures that have been rehomed in recent weeks. But seriously, June already! Please slow down life. <3

Due to the great British bank holiday weather, this weekend has been far more relaxing than was planned. Hope you're all feeling rested and ready for whatever the rest of spring brings <3

Howden Vintage Fair

User

The car is loaded and I've packed my camera - the last fair was so busy I had no time to take snaps, this little pic is from an earlier fair and includes that lovely dolly that has since become my profile pic. She didn't sell at the fair and I'm so pleased, she was always destined to be mine <3 Well, we're looking forward to tomorrow's fair, If you're going too, stop by and say hi xxx

Dress rehearsal for Saturday <3

The one good thing about last week's snow was that it threw a lovely white light into the cottage so was perfect for getting a bit of painting done. <3

Looking forward to selling at this beautiful event. I'm hoping to get a chance to buy some treasures too. If you're in the area come and have a mooch, you wont be disappointed.

Three weeks ago I put my back out. Unable to get in and out of a car, besides going for walks around the village I've been housebound. Unable to tackle the housework and watching the dust levels build up around me is driving me nuts, so, a few little bear repair projects have kept me sane. Here's one of my 'before and afters'.

Is it really still January? Is it just me that feels like this month is interminable? Not that I'm wishing my life away, of course, but this year is off to a very slow start here.
I've done almost no buying. There are year-round markets here but the weather has thwarted our activity. So I've very little to share with you.....
Other than this cutie-pie. He's called Toffee and was a character from BBC Radio's 'Listen With Mother', which I'm too young to remember, naturally.
... Anyway, I picked him up, not knowing what I was buying, and the seller not knowing what he was selling, for £8. Did a little research and sold him for £134 plus post to Japan - now if I could do that on a regular basis I'd be laughing!
It might be a slow start to the year, but it's a good one!

Good things come to those who wait. Do you remember me buying these little blue shoes? That was back in March last year. At the time I said I'd love a pair in pink too. The trouble with vintage is that it's not just 'off the shelf'. So 10 months later and I couldn't even begin to guess how many miles I've walked and how much vintage I've rummaged through, but it's A LOT.... and at last the reward is mine. <3

The 1st January always feels like sitting with pen in hand looking at a blank page. But it won't stay blank for long. Here's a final flick through the pages of 2017 - just a fraction of the treasures that passed through my hands. Thank you so much for supporting my little business xxx I'm looking forward to what 2018 is going to bring. Happy New Year Gang <3

Fiver was quite insistant he sign off for my final post of 2017.
He's been gently cleaned, including that scruffy red ribbon tied so tightly around his neck joint it can't be removed without cutting away, but it cleaned up well and ironed as best we could while still attached, so hopefully now looks the way intended by the person who once loved this little bear enough to adorn him with a bow. He's had minor surgery to reattach the little right paw that he's waving at you, an...d obviously has a brand new pair of glass eyes so he may even be able to see you too, who knows what secret powers these old bears have?
I do know that while his previous owner believed I was his 'last chance', he's already seen more Christmasses than me and has many many more to come. Infact something tells me this little bear is going to outlive us all.
So from Fiver (and me) we wish you all a very Beary Christmas and a fabulous fresh start for 2018 <3 xXx♥

Sunday ShoutOut:
I know, another Sunday ShoutOut on a Monday - standards are slipping. Truth is silly season is upon us, and the thing with 'broken' families is that celebrations are rather spread out. I see this as a positive thing, because we get to celebrate for longer. So yesterday was our Christmas Dinner with all of The Mister's children, partners and grandchildren, what a joy. So apologies for neglecting you but busy busy and family comes first right? But I still w...ant to thank you for following my little page and for all of your interactions: Chloe Patricia Cheryl May Carole Dorran Paola Canino Vicky Cooper Yve Sydney L.A. Oliphant Ann Juliette Vikki Gibson Jackie Millins-Horne Teresa Cook Linda Moore Ruth Hensman Sandra Collier Janet Edmands Hughes Laura Malcolmson Tudors Crafts & Collectables Cindy Telford Rachel Freeman Carol Davies Christine Edwards Kirsty Brooker Amanda Towns Sandra Rowe Paula Duggan Sarah Jenkins Jenny Louise Smart Melanie Bright Katie Wilkins Tracey Martinez Julie Brooks Sheryl Hippins Amanda Stone Kathleen Turner Bronia Lee

We're never far from a floral finding here, and this pair of prints are swoon-worthy. While they aren't signed, I'm pretty sure these are the work of the prolific flower artist Catherine Klein which dates them to early last century - and as for those frames <3 <3 <3

Bought a few toys from Natasha. Love the idea of buying preowned toys and thinking about the history behind them and who previously owned them.

I have been very so happy with all my purchases! Cannot recommend Natasha enough. She is so knowledgeable about the items she sells. Thank you Natasha!! xx
