So this afternoon I ventured up to Hats & Tiaras in clee for a little live to showcase a couple of Isabel Wallis wedding hair pieces, with the help of Jess Tatam. You seen sometimes you just need to see that hairpiece in styled hair for that inspiration. Hair and make up by me, hair was quick updo’s not perfect but gives you an idea 💡💋

I cannot stress enough the importance of skin tests re colours (and also lash and brow tinting, lash glue)
This is me, I did this Friday and within 10 mins I had a reaction. Now I’ve been allergic to colours (direct scalp application) for A few years now, and nothing has changed. I tried this because I want a full colour eventually to cover up those natural silvers that keep trying to pop through, so eventually I will have to go back blonder (only slightly) for now.. ill do ...what I usually do and have foils dark etc.
So, always remember you MUST have a skin test. If I forget to offer you one ( can happen) then prompt me for one, pop to me, it only takes a couple of mins and I’ll tell you though everything there and then. Even if you don’t come to me even if your hairstylist forgets to offer one then prompt them it’s so inportant.
Even if you are a box colour user, once again you must do a skin test! Box colours have a hell of a lot more chemicals than a salon based colour.. remember that!
I did speak with a Few other hairdressers on Friday for a bit of advice, one said I should of done it on my forearm because it’s too Close to my breathing faculties, I said its pointless if I didn’t react there then I thought it would be ok to put colour on my scalp I’d have been in hospital that night... it’s scary. Im pleased I checked myself.
Clients with foiled hi lights this isn’t always necessary!
Also if you find your skin is changing, hormones, on medication it’s always an idea to let us stylists know, these factors could have an effect, and i have witnessed it before too!
So after a few days it’s calmed down, I am blistered slightly. Imagine if I didnt do it? 😳
Remember SKIN TESTING IS IMPORTANT.
