Message from St Nicholas Church...
I have been to St Nicholas's Church in North Cotes this morning for it's regular Sunday service at 11am. Afterwards, I was having a chat with Rev Jenny West and her husband John and we were talking about how, the few people that go to St Nicholas's service, can be of use to the local community. Not many people go to church these days but are in fact spiritual people and/or interested in the history of the church and the village. So, I would... like to ask you all...What would you like to see happening at St Nicholas's Church in North Cotes? Perhaps you are interested in being part of the church community but are unable to come to the services and that is absolutely fine. The church is a building but the REAL CHURCH is the PEOPLE. We would like to get a 'Friends of St Nicholas's Church' organised where people could meet and share their skills for the benefit of the building. Perhaps you would like a craft/sewing group to help make cushions for those rather hard pews or lovely colourful banners to display in the church? Perhaps you would like to be part of a music group so we could play the songs instead of having to rely on a dodgy CD? Perhaps you would like a 'drop in' where we could meet and have tea and cake and a 'bit of a chat'? Bible study group? Sunday school? OR What do you expect from the Church? What would you like the church to do? How can the church support our local community? There are a few suggestions I have thought of but the congregation are looking forward to your suggestions. So on a pretty Sunday afternoon, we replaced our old curtain rails and curtains with new ones, all ready for summer! We still have net curtain to put up (next weekend :) ). Our new curtains and fittings were only possible thanks to Mr and Mrs Parker's estate legacy, and as always our thanks are given for all the support the hall receives.

Our AGM is this coming Tuesday 24th April at 7:30pm. Come along and see how you can support your village hall.
