About Nottingham Canine Hydrotherapy Centre

Nottingham Canine Hydrotherapy Centre Description

Nottingham Canine Hydrotherapy Centre owners Steve & Amanda Powell have shared their lives with Pedigree dogs for over 35 years.

As owners, breeders & even judging Rottweilers & Pembroke Corgis for over 27 years, they originally began hydrotherapy not as a business, but with their original pool only for their own dogs following injury & also to build general fitness.

They were then approached by local veterinary practices to offer hydrotherapy services to their clients whose dogs had suffered various injuries.

So in 2001, the Nottingham Canine Hydrotherapy Centre was born!

The centre is based in Hucknall - Nottinghamshire in just over a quarter of an acre of what many of their clients consider is a tranquil & inviting β€˜little bit of the countryside in the town’.

We are the most experienced Hydrotherapy Centre in Nottinghamshire and further afield, we are open 6 days a week and having vets from all over the East Midlands referrring to us as they know we have an excellent reputation.

Steve is a fully qualified Canine Hydrotherapist and he is a member of NARCH - the National Association of Registreed Canine Hydrotherapists.
Unlike many of the centres in Nottinghamshire - we abide by the rules of our governing body and we will only swim a dog once we have a referral for your dog from your vet! This does not mean that your dog has to have an injury, but it means that for the safety of your dog, we will approach your vet from your dogs medical history to ensure that your pet does not have an illness that could affect his health when swimming. This is for your dogs wellbeing and is something that many pools do not do - they just tell you to come along and have a fun swim!

We also do not charge you more for your session if your dog is having a Rehabilitation Session. Many centres charge less for fun swims than they do for dogs who have an injury . . . . . why should you be charged more if your dog is poorly? When you have had to pay vets bills the last thing that you want is to pay extra for your dogs rehabiliation! We dont penalise you. All swims take the same amount of time - we offer the same service and we give all dogs the same amount of care! So whether you are referred by your vet, whether we are recommended by your friend or if you have found us on the World Wide Web - we offer your dog and you the best possible service to help your dog get well or to get your dog fit.

So if you want a hydrotherapy centre that offers you the best service - give us a ring on 0115 840 7273, and we will do our best to help you!

Labradoodle Franklin has certainly had his fair share of setbacks, but he's incredibly strong (physically, as well as mentally!!) & he really goes for it in the pool. He certainly deserves his relaxing jacuzzi 😊

German Shepherd Nelly is such a beautiful young lady. She is another one of our more nervous dogs, but we take it slow with her & she's really coming out of herself now.... Once again the jacuzzi is a big hit 😊

We all get soaked wet through & have lots of laughs when StaffiexCollie Misty is in πŸ’¦πŸ˜‚ She absolutely loves being in the water & enjoys her hydro so much - pretty sure the whole of Hucknall can hear her excitement!

Rotti Lola is one of our more nervous clients, she doesn't love swimming, but she copes really well. I don't think she minds the jacuzzi or all the fuss though 😊
