Are you sitting down today for your work? Check in with your posture, are you slouching?
Slouching doesn't always cause discomfort, but over time this position can place strain on already sensitised muscles and soft tissues.
Are you hunched over your keyboard or mobile phone?
... Over time, this type of posture can contribute to you developing a rounded upper back, which can cause shoulder and upper back stiffness.

Persistent pain is different to normal pain. We all feel pain from time to time. When someone injures themselves, specific nerves recognise this as pain, which in turn triggers the bodyโ€™s repair mechanism. As the problem resolves, the pain tends to improve and usually disappears within 3-6 months.
This type of pain could be argued to be beneficial: if it hurts, you are likely to try and avoid doing whatever it is that has caused the pain in the future, so you are less likely to injure yourself in that way again.

What is #Osteopathy?
Osteopathyโ€™s basic principle is that well-being depends on the smooth combined functioning of the skeleton, muscles, ligaments and connective tissue.
Patients visiting an osteopath may have a sports injury, or a work-related strain or may not be sure how their pain started. All ages can visit an osteopath from the retired generation to children, although it is worth noting that a child under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult during their visit....
Osteopathy treatment can help to maintain the functioning of the body and minimise the stressful effects of modern daily life. In the same way you would keep your car serviced to maintain its effective performance.
