A massive well done to our professional chef Iain on achieving yet another 5 Star Food Hygiene Rating.

The children were very excited to see the amazing police dogs come and visit. The police dog handlers explained all of the different jobs the dogs do, the children thought the dogs were very clever. Thank you very much to Nicki and Rupert and their dogs.

The Pre-school children have enjoyed taking part in different activities throughout the week all to do with Children In Need. They had lots of fun making a big 'Pudsey Bear', using sponges and the colour yellow.
Also, they got sticky and messy making 'Pudsey Bear' faces and they were able to use different materials to decorate the eye patch such as buttons, paint dobbers and glitter circles.
We raised money by having a pyjama day and going on a charity walk around the commu...nity. Thank you everyone for taking part and donating!!

The toddler room have been very busy this week raising money for charity. The events that have occurred included 'spotty Monday'. This gave the children the chance to wear spots to raise money for children in need.
On Tuesday Jody did a sponsored silence, Jody completed this silence and managed to raise lots of money, well done Jody!
On Wednesday both of the children and staff wore their pyjamas, everybody was very cosy for the day.
... On Thursday there was a cake sale held, many people were very generous to donate resulting in a sell out of cakes!
Friday all of the toddlers got the chance to join in on a sponsored walk. One group went to the coop, who let us stand outside and ask for donations. The second group took a walk down to Allandale Road, this resulted in all the kind people donating lots of money. A big thankyou to every person who has donated, sponsored and taken part in our children in need week😁

Children in need is approaching next week and Jody from the toddler room has agreed to do a sponsored silence for this great cause. (For those who know Jody, you will know how difficult / impossible this will be!!) :)
The sponsored silence will be held on Tuesday 13th November. If you would like to sponsor Jody, please fill in the sponsorship form on the door of the toddler room. All donations are welcome, thank you very much 😁

The Preschool had an amazing Halloween today! The children and staff both had lots of fun dressing up in different costumes and everyone looked great! We carved some pumpkins and the children enjoyed exploring what was inside and feeling the seeds with their hands. It was a very sticky activity!
Jody also brought her black cat, Lowkey, in to visit us. He was very well behaved and enjoyed lots of strokes from the children.
Everyone made handprint spiders and had lots of fun... painting their own hands and drawing faces on their spiders.
Later Linda brought her face paints in and the children loved being transformed into lots of different things, including a unicorn, a cat, a fairy and a tiger!

The baby room have had lots of Halloween fun today. We carved some pumpkins and the babies took part in messy play, exploring the insides by feeling the cold texture and scooping the seeds.
We also had a very exciting guest visit in the baby room, Jody's cat Loki, who the babies were in awe of and some were even brave to stroke his soft fur.
In the lead up to Halloween, the babies had made some spooky crafts, including footprint ghosts and handprints spiders and pumpkins, they enjoyed exploring the texture of the paint between their fingers and toes!

The children have had lots of fun for Halloween today. The theme has been black cats and pumpkins. All 3 rooms have had the experience of meeting Jody's cat from home, 'Lowkey'.
The children got to touch Lowkey and explore how to treat animals using their kind hands. Lowkey got a little bit scared so some of the children gave him some cuddles. This has shown the children have started to understand emotions and how to react to them.

The Toddlers had a great time as they explored learning about reptiles as part of National Reptiles day.
They enjoyed holding, touching and hearing the reptiles as they moved around the circle.
It was a great opportunity for the children to learn about the World around them and how to look after animals as well as how we stroke and touch them gently. 🐍🕷

During the course of the week, the toddlers have engaged in various activities. They did some painting and sticking with a range of media to create a large ladybird. This was then used as a number activity where the children had the opportunity to match numeral to quantity.
They used different sized cut out circles to place onto the ladybird. This activity supported the children's ability to count, explore quantity and differentiate between big and small.

The toddler room have been experimenting with vegetables. Each toddler has had the opportunity to use their senses to explore the vegetables. Many of the children touched the vegetables and were asked" What does it feel like? ". The children each used their language and the responses included" Ew wet", "That's cold" "Feels soft".
The children then put the vegetables to their noses and began to smell them.
After exploring the textures of vegetables the children began to paint with them. They each chose their own vegetable and began to move them around in the paint, the children then moved the vegetables with their hand and began to make marks on their paper. They all got very messy with the paints and were given the chance to independently wash the paints off of their hands. This encouraged self confidence and independence.

The Pre-School children had a great time this afternoon creating their own pizza's for tea.

The toddler room have been very busy this week completing lots of craft activities. They have all learnt that autumn is nearly here and the leafs are starting to fall off of the trees.
The activities have included; painting with leafs, making leaf hedgehogs, painting with autumn coloured cotton buds, printing vegetables and gluing and sticking with sticks.
The children have had the opportunity to feel lots of different textures, explore autumn colours and also see how mixing two colours can create a new colour. They have all had lots of fun and are looking forward to autumn arriving

User

The baby room have had a fun couple of days. They visited Parklands soft play, where they sat in the ball pit and climbed on the soft play equipment.
They also went on a trip to Victoria park in the pushchairs where they had a picnic tea and played on the park, especially enjoying the swings and slides!

User

After the recent trip to the museum, the children have been very busy in pre-school making a dinosaur land! They enjoyed getting messy using the paper mache to make dinosaur eggs and a volcano.
The children also had lots of fun making dinosaur footprints. They enjoyed going on a leaf hunt outside and making their own leaves using different coloured glitter.

User

The staff in baby room are lovely and hardworking. They strive to create a home away from home for the children they care for.

Our little boy felt right at home from the baby room all the way through his current time in the toddler room. All staff have made the transitions seamless and the burst of excitement to run into nursery, is good enough for us as parents to know we chose the right place. We love the open and bright environment created for children, to explore and learn through various modes of play. Every week is brings something new and we have loved watching our boy grow week on week. All staff are extremely professional and have made the experience a happy one for us but most importantly for our boy.

My son took some time to settle but the girls were very accommodating and patient in helping him feel comfortable and reassuring myself. Really happy so far.

My eldest child joined nursery rhymes at preschool age and the staff in that room were excellent into quickly helping her settle from her previous nursery setting. I was happy with how well they prepared her for when she recently started school. My youngest child started there as a baby and she has enjoyed every single moment. The staff go above and beyond expectations and I am confident in the fact that my child Is extremely happy in their care. I can’t recommend this nursery enough!
