The joy of farming doesn't stop at 5pm!
Last night when we were checking the young cows that are due to calve over the next couple of weeks, we could see that one of them needed some help.
After 2 hours of hard work (at around 10pm!), we managed to get Herbert the calf out! Both him and his mother are doing fine, and being closely watched by the other cows in the pen 🐄🐮🐄

Wow Lianne are you for real ? The craft area was busy because people was enjoying there selfs, and people can't go around on there own as if you got bitten or kicked no one would be there to help !

Instead of pulling small businesses and farms down try being more supportive ! Oakley grange farm my family and the kids five adults and 3 kids we all loved the day , the farm tour was lovely with the baby lambs and the Easter hunt was fun , all the staff was friendly and helpful and it's nice to see the place so lively thanks again from some happy customers

We had a quick lunch on Monday at the last minute for the first time. The sandwich and jacket filling choices are very good. I loved the granary bread and the coffee walnut cake was beautiful and tasty. The only tiny thing for me is that I like really strong tea so maybe I will ask for more leaves in my pot next time. Definitely recommend to anyone and everyone. Thank you, still intrigued by the cactus 😉

My daughter and family took me here for Mother’s Day and I can honestly say it’s the nicest lunch I have eaten this year. There was quite a wait for food as they were very busy but nobody minded as the staff were so lovely and friendly and the food was well worth the wait. A great selection of fresh vegetables served with main course and deserts to die for. Will be eating here again .!

I booked a table so that 4 friends could enjoy celebrating birthdays in peace. I hadn't been before but Oakley Grange was recommended by a friend. Soup was lovely and very much homemade. Tea was plenty for each person to get two cups, and decaff option no problem. A few items on cake menu were unavailable, but this was explained before order taken. One friend really enjoyed watching the farmer at work through the window. Would recommend booking beforehand, and hope to return in the future. Track up to cafe is quite bumpy in our small car, but fine if you take your time.

User

Found this fantastic place by chance, and what a find it is! Lovely setting, fantastic food, friendly folks and a great deli shop too. We'll be regulars from now on!

User

Came here today for the Easter egg hunt, with our 5 year old and baby, we got there early and had a great time, paid £5 to do everything and entered the Easter bonnet competition. Our daughter had a great time, we enjoyed the farm tour and egg hunt and then had a fantastic meal in the cafe, took a while but was fresh and hot and well worth the wait! Would come again next year.

User

An enjoyable afternoon at the Easter Egg Hunt. Loved seeing all the piglets & calves. Enjoyed our drinks in the cafe - will definitely return for a meal at some point.

User

A range of tasty home cooked food in quant surroundings, there is a farm shop with local fresh produce, ranging from Jam, honey to beer. I would highly recommend a trip, it is a bit difficult to find but worth the journey,

User

A great find, lovely fresh breakfast, plenty of tea and lovely staff, will definitely return if I’m ever back in the area

User

Went for lunch yesterday. Booked a table as we know it's very popular there. Had to wait a good 45mins for our food. My two and four year old were starting to get a little restless. A small childs menu would be nice to see.

Waited a little while for our drinks too, maybe some more staff for your busiest periods.

Food nice and fresh though and we will return again.

User

We went to Oakley Grange farm for their open farm day yesterday 11th June ( my birthday!) had a lovely tour with Richard the farmer and learnt a lot about Organic Farming. Had a delicious lunch afterwards in the cafe. I had a lamb burger and my husband had fried pork and potatoes.

User

Nice location and superb bistro and lovely staff. Lovely cauliflower soup very thick and hot. Good gluten free options but scone was very disappointing small biscuits would describe it better and lots of jam and cream but no room for it on the biscuits.

User

User

I love coming here for relaxing ambience and good food. Always welcoming, often busy, and lots of little piglets to ooh and ahh at. Situated at the top of the hill between Shepshed and Hathern, you get the sense of space and light. Good views towards the Soar Valley. The only thing I could wish for is an area where dog owners could bring their dogs while enjoying a coffee. A covered outdoor porch would be something. Oh, and there's plenty of quality fresh and chilled meat to buy as well if you want to pick something up for dinner.

User

I visited Oakley grange on Saturday to hold a surprise baby shower for 2 of my friends. The staff were accommodating by letting us bring decorations and letting us arrive early to set up! However we did wait a while (over an hour and half) to be served despite it not being busy when we arrived but when the food came it was very nice!!

User

Visited for the first time today after recently moving to the area. Enquired about an item on the menu as I’m dairy free, only to be told that it wasn’t possible to do it without dairy. I was offered no alternative either. I asked about scrambled egg, we all know that you can make scrambled egg without milk & butter! I was also told that soya milk would arrive with our tea, but it didn’t. Luckily I carry my own.

Hugely Disappointed as I much prefer to support local businesses. Usually local places find it easier to cater for my dietary requirements, as they make everything fresh. This was not the case here unfortunately.

User

Really disappointed, had heard a lot about this place only to get there sit down and find other customers being served before us despite coming after us. Not much of a friendly welcome, someone needed some training in smiling. Had the special lamb burger, which didn’t come in a burger bun but a small ciabatta bun the size of a kids meal. Just the bread and burger!!!!! Salad was on the side, didn’t even come with the sauce it was meant to and had to request it. Burger was bland and my salad leaves looked like they had been eaten by caterpillars first then served to me!!! I want to go back hoping it was just a bad day, I really hope it was as the place was beautiful.

User

I visited with my mum a few weeks ago for the first time.

Didn’t get an overly friendly welcome, we found a table and sat for a while as we were not sure if it was table service or not. My mum went to the counter in the end and was served. Again she said it wasn’t overly welcoming. We just had drinks in the end as we felt uncomfortable. The hot chocolate tasted like warm milk with very little chocolate taste. Very disappointing.

User

What a dreadful Easter egg hunt this year! We paid £3 per child and stayed 15mins!! I was given an empty brown paper bag to collect a few paper eggs. I questioned why we didn't get a quiz to be told that this was 'only' if you paid £5. However all the signs state it IS included.

The whole site was massively smaller than last year. You couldn't get to the crafting area as it was so cramped, you weren't allowed around the farm unless it was on a tour (which didn't start for another hour!) even though you could last year. The actual Easter egg hunt was also smaller than last year and with no quiz was over in minutes!

Overall incredibly poorly managed and a very very bad experience for our whole family. It needs to be changed for next year!
