"When I first started out with my fundraising, the amount I was due to raise seemed quite daunting.
"My advice is still to use any possible contacts or fundraising sources possible, and to not feel down if something doesn't make as much money or doesn't work out how it was supposed to." - Georgia, Zambia and Botswana, 2018

This year, some of our expedition teams have reached the high altitudes of Mount Everest's base camp, which is located 17,060 ft above sea level. Have you trekked to lofty heights? If so, what's the one thing you couldn't have made it without?

"My team and I really wanted to fundraise together instead of separately, so we came up with the idea of a teachers' rounders game at school.
"The tickets were just £1 which encouraged hundreds of people to contribute a small amount of money for a fun lunchtime laughing at their teachers.
"We raised around £400 which we put towards travel to and from the airport. I would 100% recommend trying this out!" - Ella, Tanzania 2018

"Since deciding to go to Zambia this year, I've learnt a lot by raising the money myself, rather than relying on my parents. So the learning starts right from when you sign up, not just while you're on expedition!"
Fundraising for your expedition is not only fun, but funding your expedition yourself through hard work and a little bit of entrepreneurial spirit will give you a great sense of achievement.

“My advice to fundraisers would be to find something that you enjoy doing and figure out a way to earn money from it and also to stick at it because every penny that you earn will add up, even if the individual sums seem a very small percentage of the total amount.” - Natasha, Borneo 2018.

The aptly named Thailand translates as ‘Land of Freedom’ and attracts free spirited, adventure-seeking #travellers from around the world.
This, along with its rich culture and awe-inspiring sites, is why it's one of our hand-picked destinations in our 'Explore' packages.
Our jam-packed itinerary will give you a real taste of what it means to live and work in the Southeast Asian country. You will live among remote hill tribes and work alongside local farmers in the paddy fi...elds, before taking time out to visit historic temples and learn more about Buddhism.

"Personally I think that the best part of the expedition was the project. The community were really welcoming and so grateful for what we did. They organised a dance for us on the Sunday following a friendly game of football, with live music from a fantastic local band.
"While there, we gave the children bouncy balls, skipping ropes and some other games to play with. Seeing how happy they were with the simple gifts made us appreciate what really matters in life. I loved wor...king together with the community to make a positive difference to their lives"
- Charlotte Bunnett, Participant

Not only do expeditions increase your self-awareness and develop life-long bonds, they also give you the opportunity to visit some of the world's most untouched and unspoiled places and give back to their communities through project work.
Working with local people to improve the environment in which they live gives you a real sense of accomplishment and allows you to really experience a country's culture, away from the tourist trail.
