Paolo'S Seafood

Well good morning all and sundry! I have just returned from preparing the previously mentined bluefin tuna. Please see attached photos.. It is a coldwater demersal fish, line caught in San Sebastian, Nortern Spain. we have taken a loin off, complete with belly flap, destined for a nearby Michelin starred establishment of note and repute. For the truly interested/sad, note the colour on the loin: it goes pale nearer the skin, this is a sign of high oil content, making it particularly suitable for raw consumption. I would heartily encourage you to sample this divine bounty.

First foray into Facebook; rest assured I am better with fish than with technology!

Wow, we're so lucky to have Paolo's on our doorstep. What a quality fishmongers this is. On this my first visit I got some smoked haddock for a chowder I was making and a big bag of jumbo (and I mean jumbo) prawns for the freezer. I also got half a dozen oysters as a treat and they were superb and some of the best I've ever had. Paolo is very approachable and a nice guy too, and his premises are spotless. So fortunate to have this kind of seafood quality so far inland. Bravo.

The best fish I've ever tasted! Its lovely to shop at a fishmongers with individual attention and advice as opposed to a characterless supermarket.

Just had the best seafood platter have ever had! Will be buying all our seafood from here from now on!!

Great scallops tonight. One minute to sear each side then topped with a butter garlic and parsley sauce. Perfect. Thank you Paolo.
