Peak Birthing

About Peak Birthing

A course of 4 sessions providing antenatal education about birth & parenting, run by a local midwife with over 40 years NHS experience and a local GP.

Peak Birthing Description

Apprehension is natural when having your first baby. First the birth, then the feeding and caring for your new child in those early days when your world is suddenly turned upside down. The more prepared you and your partner are, the more confident you will feel, and the more relaxed you will be.

These antenatal classes are run by a vastly experienced (NHS) community midwife and a doctor. They believe in a positive approach to natural birth, but with a realistic view to medical support where necessary.

The course covers three sessions:
1. What happens during birth
2. Pain management and handling complications
3. Feeding and coping with first few weeks

Cost £120 per couple. You can attend with your partner, friend, relative or on your own. Everyone will be made to feel welcome.

Next course is starting Monday 8th August, subsequent sessions on 15th and 22nd august. 6. 45 - 8. 45 pm at the Whitworth Centre, Darley Dale.
