Started here with my 3 year old who had developed quite a bad issue with swimming lessons

The reception staff were brilliant when I explained to them the issues on the phone, when we arrived last week the lady on reception did all she could to help build his confidence. He was taken to see the pool, meet his instructor and a lot of time went into engaging with him before he even went into the pool.

Second week and although he has issues getting changed and going in once he gets in the teacher is brilliant and has had more out of him in the last 2 weeks than his previous pool/teacher.

Couldn’t have asked for anything more from reception staff or the swim teacher.

Thank you

Love this pool. Swim there in my lunch break couple of times a week. I think its a real swimmer's pool. Lane swimming has three lanes, slow, medium and fast and then the rest of the pool for whatever. I like it because it doesn't seem to get over busy so I can swim front crawl in peace without fear of bumping into someone or being held up by slower swimmers. They have flags over the pool to help those doing backstroke (don't often see that). Staff always friendly and helpful. Changing rooms generally clean.

User

I use the gym , it's brilliant. Equipment is always in good working order , staff are fantastic , changing rooms always clean , tidy. Definitely recommend the gym. Just used the virtual spinning classes they now have ... its awesome ! X

User

I just recently joined gym as I was swimming a lot so had monthly D/D was worried about joining gym. with not long having a hip replacement & been abit overweight all the guys in their have been fantastic I was made to feel very welcome & ever question I had got answered they have took onboard what I need & I want to achieve so I plan a new me for 2017 x x brilliant job by all the staff oh ye all the staff meaning everyone & reception guys x x

User

I attend the Les Mills RPM classes held by Sue Lloyd. Guaranteed to make you work your hardest if you're true to yourself! Sue is the best Spinning instructor in the area... Love Love these classes - wish there was one every morning. Brilliant for the body and great for the mind!

User

Going to the gym here is just simply awesome. There is everything you need if your resourceful and don't expect everything custom made machine for every single tiny muscle. Pick up some free weights and kettle bells and stop being a pussy. It's never too busy and has plenty to enable flexibility in sessions. The environment is friendly with sociable people and the staff are always welcoming and friendly. The gym is kept pristinely clean and tidy and the water in the fountain tastes gorgeous like a fresh water spring in the Himalayas. The only thing that would make it better is if iron maiden were playing live in the corner. I'd also like a heavy bag to beat up and staff that would be willing to train arm bars, chokes and leg locks. Well done guys.

User

My little one has lessons here, the instructor is really nice Kirsty, only problem I have is they never want to put them in for badges I had to ask for his 25mts 4 months ago & not been put in for anything else, when I was little at swimming u had to be able to swim certain amounts before u where put up but not here. Plus when u get certificate u have to write on it yourself, should really be printed with child's name...

User

The place manages to look old in pool area and changing room ....not that clean and the water is always freezing not cold but freezing when you've been swimming a while you don,t warm.up either

User

My son was 6 months old when I started taking him swimming lessons. I first started on a Monday however the instructor spent most of the lesson looking through the I pad or clearing away from the lesson before. There was very little interaction from her to the mothers and babies. I then swapped to a Saturday to see if that would be better but it wasn't. It was a different instructor but pretty much the same. No interaction. You couldn't hear what she was singing as it was to noisey so the parents spent half the time looking at each other wondering what to do. I would try him again there when has older but definatly wouldn't recommend for babies.

User

My daughter ends up with a different teacher every week... When her teacher does make an appearance she does little to encourage. Been coming a year, no development no badges and told the same thing every week that all classes are booked up and no you can't change classes. Very frustrated as my daughter loves swimming!

User

Lack of communication on 2 occasions now. Lack of acknowledgement and actually noticing my kids at the pool side and 2 new adults there. Lack of ability to check who's booked on a lesson on 2 occasions. And asking my 2 children to get into the big pool bearing in mind it was their FIRST swimming lesson, but their strong swimmers.... no darling you didn't know my children you cannot make that assessment without them actually getting in the water!

So shocked at life guards stood in groups of 2/3 chatting, drinking lucazade ???

A formal complaint will be written

User

I've been using Sherwood baths/ Rebecca for many years but I'm getting fed up of the kids swim lessons from the way they are run to how much of the pool they can use to swim in and not progressing quick enough because there is no room for the next stage. management really need to give themselves a kick and sort this mess out plus the receptionist was not helpful when you are wanting to put a complaint in to be told you had to speak to the manager end of conversation honestly come on sort it!!!!!

User

I went swimming to day take my son who one there was some baby toys like balls and to play with and that was it there don't do mum baby swimming at all

User

We started to take our 16 month old last month and have already stopped going and cancelled it as there’s not really anything different from week to week, the pool is not hot enough for baby’s/toddlers as she had blue lips every time she got out and visible shaking but most of all is the teacher you could see she had no interest in teaching toddlers, it was my first time in with my daughter and all I was told was to watch other parents who didn’t really know either. Already found a much better place to go. It is the cheapest but there’s a reason for it RUBBISH

User

My daughter's lesson was cancelled at last minute by them because they had authorised a holiday and not arranged cover. When asked when I could bring her for her missed lesson, I was told I can't. I also cannot have a refund. I can have the value of the lesson to buy stuff from their shop such as goggles. My daughter does not wear goggles. So they have cancelled her lesson and kept her money. There's usually 9 kids in her class. That's £45 for that half hour session they've made from people. If that instructor teachers 6 lessons in one day (That's only 3 hours so probably double that) that's £270 they have made from people without providing the service people have signed up for. The front of house staff and then the manager were rude, argumentative and refused to give their name when asked. So not only have they taken money under false pretences, they then are rude and offensive on the phone about it.

Took my 3 yr old grandson for his swimming lesson, the swimming instructor pushed him under the water as he was not confident enough to put his head under.my grandson was crying and upset the bloody instructor laughed and said to him why are you crying? It did not kill you fid it?FGS hes 3 years old! I was too upset too challenge him at the time and dod not want to upset my little grandson any more FUMING!!!!!

User

Didn’t even get to the pool area. The receptionist was the most unhelpful, unfriendly woman ever. Looks like she should’ve retired 20 years ago as even a smile was too much effort. Looks like she can’t stand children which is odd considering she works in a leisure environment which children regularly attend!!! I’d spoken to someone on the phone about registering my daughter for lessons so came to sort that out and have a family swim at the same time. Ended up doing neither.
