"BEST MEDIUM BAR" - Nottingham Best Bar None Awards 2013

Rescue Rooms has been at the heart of the Nottingham music scene for the past 11 years. The Libertines to Kate Nash, Machine Head to Calvin Harris, you name them, they’ve probably played here.

Our 450 capacity venue has impeccable sound and no matter where you stand you’ll always get the best venues of your favourite band.

We have over 100 shows a year so keep an eye on our gig listings; you never know who is going to be making an appearance.

Our bar opens from 4pm Monday-Saturday and Happy Hour runs 4pm-7pm and all night on a Monday! With black leather chesterfield-style seating and a polished copper bar it is the perfect setting for after work and uni drinks. We haven’t been voted Nottingham’s best student bar for nothing you know!

As well as our gigs we have the best club nights Nottingham has to offer. Head over to each of the pages below and give them a like to keep up to date with all the latest goings on and drinks offers.

Saw Del Suelo and The Dead South there 26/04. Such a great venue, easy to see the stage from anywhere you stand. Also the security staff were fantastic!! Will definitely be coming back!!

User

I came to the Rescue Rooms last night with some friends to see The Quireboys…..

They were fabulous, as were the support band, what a cracking band.

But I have to also say a word or two about the fantastic Rescue Rooms staff……

The folks in the door security team and the bar team were exceptional. Such lovely, friendly people.

From the moment we walked in, it was obvious we were going to have a fantastic night.

Well done, Rescue Rooms, a definite 5 stars from me.

User

Had a fantastic time, lovely food, great music and a great choice of gins. Well done to everyone involved!

User

Had a fab time at your gin festival last night.

Great choice of gins food and music !

Please do again soon

User

Great venue. Decent sound. Security & bar staff top notch & happy to chat. £4 for San Miguel??

Long walk to the gents but a minor gripe. Always happy to go back!

User

Fantastic Night with Turbowolf, Puppy & Big Spring. Made the trip from the Norfolk Coast and the first time at the Rescue Rooms for us but certainly won't be the last, what a great intimate venue, atmosphere electric and the staff all really helpful.

User

Definitely Oasis! Great gig, great venue. Reasonable prices on the beer and a great view where ever you stand.

It's essentially a long, wide room with a stage and a PA system.

Love it!

User

Been to the rescue rooms to see Myles Kennedy tonight. Great little venue with the best security staff I've ever come across. Big shout out for Matthew, he is awesome at his job, went the extra mile with everyone. He sure enjoys his job, it shows. Deserves a big fat bonus

User

As someone who has limited mobility going to music venues can be a challenge if not impossible at times. The rescue rooms could not have been more accommodating or helpful. The stored my wheelchair away securely and placed a stool right near the stage (but in a safe place). The security guard (tall guy with a shaved head) asked where we wanted to stand and made sure we made our way in before the crowds. I would defiantly go there again and recommend it to anyine with limited mobility. Thank you for making live music accessible.

User

A massive thank you to Matthew and the security team. Professional, friendly and very helpful. As I'm severely visually impaired they helped to make my experience at the venue better than I could have hoped for. Greatly appreciated!

User

A great venue with a couple of outdoor areas to chill out at, and city-central.

Good drinks offers and good atmosphere. Staff were helpful.

Wednesday night is great quiz from 8 pm the Karaoke here is great for the younger and sociable and club-minded people, 11pm -3am.

The main area was cooking hot, the projector even shut down a few times overheating, and the cable mics could be a risk as the area gets packed, with traffic and dancing to singers, but that being said, all else was great.

DJ Mat & Kieran were good, clear and fair.

Good sound system, gets a great regular crowd, so be part of the karaoke-Krowd 🎤

Great mid week late one to check out. Come and join us next Wednesday, be early to get name on long list.

User

Great little music venue, multi story carpark ( Talbot st just a couple of minutes walk away from the venue)

Bar snacks - of the student variety I would say , we had cheesy chilli and chips. Inexpensive and tasty

Outside seating area for those wanting to smoke. Nice bar friendly staff and drinks reasonably priced

Balcony in the actual gig room so great views even if you are vertically challenged like me

User

Having attended the Square One first birthday at Rescue Rooms on Friday, I feel it necessary to alert you to some areas of development for your security personnel, which became apparent that evening.

After arriving at the venue, me and a friend queued for approximately 20 minutes, during which time we struggled to find her ticket on her emails. When we reached the security, we still hadn't found it, and asked if we could stand on the other side of the barrier, and rejoin the queue once we had located the ticket. When we did find the ticket, we asked to resume our place in the queue, to which one of them said 'nah, you've pissed us about now, go to the back of the queue'.

I'm not quite sure if this gentleman adopts a different definition of 'pissing about' to the general populous, but at most, this would be characterised as a minor inconvenience. We were then required to queue for another 20 minutes, which resulted in us arriving in the venue 5 minutes before the end of 2 of our friends sets. (It might be helpful to interject here that my friend and I had travelled from Sheffield and Bristol respectively, for this particular event)

Just as patrons of music venues are encouraged to leave their egos at the door, I think it would be prudent to advise members of your security staff to do the same. Maybe this was a severe case of little man syndrome...who knows? But it resulted in me parting with some cash behind the bar to relax a bit before I could enjoy the night. (Perhaps this is all part of your cunning plan to maximise bar revenues!)

Overlooking the aforementioned issue, this was an excellent venue, and the members of security inside the venue exemplified professionalism. I hope to return, but if I have to tolerate either of these prickly individuals, I may weep.

User

Usually a good idea to have the door staff in place before doors due to open, not over half an hour later. And don't close the balcony an hour after you've let customers in, because you apparently haven't sold enough tickets to warrant it being open. Have been to the venue many times in the past and always had a good time - this was piss poor though.

User

the event itself was okay but the security guards were absolutely horrible! My friend was drunk, as everyone else in the club was, and was absolutely fine but because of the rain she slipped on one of the steps. The security guards grabbed her by the arm and dragged her out the club calling her a dirty whore and a slut for no reason other than she was a bit drunk?! They were all extremely nasty and called a group of 19 year old girls all sluts, whores etc which is SO unacceptable. We had done absolutely nothing wrong. Disgusting behaviour from grown men

User

The place is poor for viewing on a busy night unless you're around the front of the balcony or at the front or are 7 feet tall, you will have a job getting to the bar when busy and forget the merch man. Also Mop the floors ffs!

User

If anyone was in Rescue Rooms nightclub at around 2:15am on Wednesday 14th March was wondering if you could help!

Did you see what happened to the young lad that was injured?

If so please private message me! Thanks in advance

User

Have to say this had a passport taken from a friend of mine and a week later we went to get it back to be told the room it was in was locked and there was no manager on the premises to open the room after numerous calls and emails today we finally got s straight answer that they had sent it back to passport office which yes I know they have to do but we have tried to collect it in the past so they knew we were coming to try and get it but discarded that information. They should also let the persons know if they’d be sending it back to the passport office which we were never told! So people be warned make sure you take bank cards and other forms of id to prove you are who you are! This place is a joke !

User

Had tickets for Jinkx Monsoon - 8pm-11pm. Due to the fact the evening did not kick off before 10pm, had to miss most of this!!! TERRIBLE. No-one explained what was happening - we just stood in a queue for most of the evening, and got about an hour show. If you have tickets, you should adhere to the information printed on them. 8-11pm should mean that and not 10pm until (I assume) 1am. Had to leave, just after 11pm for bus so don't know what time event finished. If knew would be so late, wouldn't have booked, but stupidly thought as ticket said 8pm, would start at 8pm. Lost two customers here - will NEVER return.

The folks in the door security team and the bar team were exceptional. Such lovely, friendly people.

From the moment we walked in, it was obvious we were going to have a fantastic night.

Well done, Rescue Rooms, a definite 5 stars from me.

Great venue. Decent sound. Security & bar staff top notch & happy to chat. £4 for San Miguel??

Long walk to the gents but a minor gripe. Always happy to go back!

Fantastic Night with Turbowolf, Puppy & Big Spring. Made the trip from the Norfolk Coast and the first time at the Rescue Rooms for us but certainly won't be the last, what a great intimate venue, atmosphere electric and the staff all really helpful.

Definitely Oasis! Great gig, great venue. Reasonable prices on the beer and a great view where ever you stand.

It's essentially a long, wide room with a stage and a PA system.

Love it!

Been to the rescue rooms to see Myles Kennedy tonight. Great little venue with the best security staff I've ever come across. Big shout out for Matthew, he is awesome at his job, went the extra mile with everyone. He sure enjoys his job, it shows. Deserves a big fat bonus
