This little lady has just come through as a possible stray. She was found on Naseby Street in Semilong about 7 months ago and has been loitering with her finders ever since. She's a young female with no ID chip or collar. If you think she could be yours please contact the surgery. Proof of ownership will be required.

Every year in early summer, the stag beetles emerge to find mates. They have spent the first five to seven years of their life underground as larvae and now have just a few short weeks to live as adults.
Stag beetles have been around virtually unchanged for millions of years, and are not equipped to survive in an urban environment. Their numbers have declined drastically over the past few decades and the species is seriously endangered.
If you see one on a pavement, please mo...ve it out of harm's way. Despite being large (the male can be up to three inches long), they are placid and harmless provided you don't stick a finger between the male's large 'antlers', which can inflict quite a strong pinch. Pick them up gently with finger and thumb on either side of the thorax (the middle part of the body, behind the head) and move them into a garden or similar.

We've been going to Rhodes ever since we got our dog. Sadly we had to have him put to sleep a few weeks ago and I cannot thank Rhodes and Kelly the vet enough. They have done so much and gone above and beyond with Archie in the 16 years we had him. Right down to sending us a sympathy card when we lost him. It will be a while before we get another not but you can be sure we will continue to use Rhodes. Thank you for all you have done for us.

Very caring and considerate to a stray cat I brought in today. Took care of her for no charge which is very unusual for a vets these days sadly. Was rushed in for treatment and I was very impressed. Thank you

Thank you so much for seeing Ralphy this

Morning after he had scoffed half an Easter egg. Your staff were so kind to us all, and gave him the treatment he needed quickly. He is still feeling a little sorry for himself but hopefully is on the mend. You have always looked after all our animals with patience and understanding, thank you again, and thank you so much for the puppy pad you gave us, this came in very handy on the way home.

Our cat was brought in recently and we discovered that she was incredibly poorly. Although our visits didn't have a happy ending I would like to commend the staff, from the lady on reception who handled my emotional phone calls with sympathetic tenderness to the wonderful vet who talked my daughter through the process of putting her very best friend at rest in a way she understood and wasn't frightened by. To allow her the extra time she wanted to say goodbye went above and beyond and helped immeasurably. Our situation was handled with such care and thoughtfulness, we really are grateful for the exemplary service we received and a big thank you goes to the staff that provided it. A special thank you for the card we received in the post too - a lovely touch. We were very moved by it.

My kitties have been treated well even if puds likes to wee on me when she goes, the pet plan is excellent. I had the unfortunate experience of bringing in a poor puss who had been killed on the road and left, they took him and even cleaned my car for me. Whats more the phone was ringing when i got home to tell me to poor little man was chipped and owners found thanking me for reuniting him with his owners. A surgery that cares thank you x

I have just deleted my review.I did not post it. I would never give Rhodes 1 star. I think they are an excellent veterinary surgery. The staff all looked after my dogs and cats for many years in the 1980s and 1990s. They gave excellent care. How this 1 star got there I don't know.

I have been going to Rhodes for 18 years now and cannot praise Kelly the Vet enough. I am very protective over my Cats who I have had over the years and I always feel they are in safe hands with Kelly. I even made sure that it was Kelly who was the person who I saw when my previous Cats had been PTS. Kelly is the most wonderful Vet!

Have recently registered the care of our beloved cats to Rhodes and today we had the first consultation with Dominic. Am extremely impressed with his professionalism, the advice that he gave and the care in general. What made the visit for us was the Receptionist on duty (am sorry forgot to ask her name) - she was so friendly and welcoming - really made us feel valued as a customer and had a great knowledge of products and services on offer. Lily is booked in for a dental on the 24th so will be seeing you again soon. Thank you.
