I found Richard online after a year’s break from two years driving. In those two years I’d taken three tests and failed all of them. Poor Richard has probably never had such a disheartened learner in the car before! But with his tuition, it took me less than three weeks to pass on my fourth attempt – so technically my first test taken with him! His teaching methods are foolproof, and he emits such a tranquil aura that panicking is pretty much impossible in the hours you spend driving with him. It only took 13 hours for him to iron out all those little quirks (I’m sure anyone who has tried to pass a driving test will know how one little mistake can be catastrophic), and succeeded in making me battle-ready for my test. I cannot recommend him enough. I’ve had several instructors, and I can say without any doubt that if I’d started learning with Richard in the first place, I might’ve passed my test on my first attempt. New learners and seasoned test-takers alike will excel under his capable tuition. Thank you Richard! !

I will definately recommend learning to drive with Richard! he is an excellent instructor, throughout all my lessons with him I felt relaxed and learned at a steady pace building up confidence. I've now passed my driving test first time! couldn't have done it without him.

Richard is a fantastic instructor. He’s very patient and definitely knows how to teach no matter your level of skill. I started as a novice and he showed me through all the basics despite my many failings. It’s always a pleasure to drive with Richard as he shows real concern for his students – probably why he has such a high 1st time pass rate!

Took my DVSA Standards Check on Friday 9th November at 2pm at Loughborough. Got 45/51 Grade A Slightly disappointed didn't do better as I genuinely felt some of the lost marks weren't justified during the de-brief chat with the examiner....we had a healthy debate about his comments.....however I still respect his feed-back Just did a normal lesson with a pupil who does his lesson at that time on a Friday....special thanks to Joel Stevenson (my pupil) for making my job so easy

After 10 years abroad with very little driving time, on returning to UK I felt in need of some refresher driving lessons and so contacted Richard for a short course of lessons. He very professionally undertook a driving assessment, boosted my confidence and improved aspects of my driving. At the same time he was a font of knowledge regarding modern instructional requirements and aspects of driving on UK roads and also on the many developments in automobile technology that have taken place over a decade. Richard is everything you could want in a driving instructor; he's friendly, patient, funny and most importantly, he knows what he's doing. Before having Richard as my instructor I didn't have the best of experiences with driving. But once I stared with Richard I got more and more confident at driving with every lesson. I would highly recommend Richard as a driving instructor as he is funny, intelligent and there would never be a dull moment in the car with him. I particularly enjoyed engaging with the car on the very first lesson and the way in which Richard taught the lessons.
He was very patient when a mistake was to be made, but I think I did drive him up the wall when I would continue making silly mistakes! After every lesson, we would have a recap on what we had done and evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of my driving ability. I felt that this was extremely beneficial, as I would know exactly how I needed to improve in order to pass. Richard was very honest and was always willing to give constructive criticism, however, he would always praise me when I did something correctly. Richard really did build up my confidence, and without him, I do not think I would have passed first time.

Just when I thought I’d become the perfect complete driver, I found myself continuing to develop under Richard’s influence, and it’s that continued influence that turned me from a good driver to a confident driver, which is what I found to be the most important part of my time with Richard.
