Went to see Embrace last night and can't fault Rock City. Being at the front makes my review biased though . Staff gave us water during the show ( much appreciated) Cloak room was useful and worth using . Love coming here :-)

User

Tickets checked and in. No hassle or fuss.

Straight to the bar. Quick service.

Atmosphere great with friendly staff at hand if needed.

Best place for a nights entertainment and live music by far.

You you all soon.

User

This place always gets bad reviews, usually about the door staff. Tonight a friend of mine had too much, the doorman (really wish I had gotten his name) helped me carry him outside, asked him if he was OK and went and fetched him a bottle of water. I wish this guy the best. He is exactly what every venue needs.

User

Saw stone sour hear last night supported by blood youth amazing gig. It was a hot and humid night in Nottingham and that had traveled inside the venue as well although the amount of people in ther didn’t help lol. The bar staff had put loads of free water on the bars so you could help yourself but if you wanted a bigger one all you had to do was ask it wasn’t a problem. I would suggest improving the ventilation as like I said I was an oven inside but other than that had a thoroughly enjoyable night will be looking for the next gig soon. I would recommend anyone travelling a long distance (I came up from Plymouth) book a room in advance had a bit of a nightmare getting some where but managed to get in to the igloo hostel highly recommend stay and it’s a 10-15 minuet walk.

User

Saw machinehead there last night and had to step out to cool down as I'm pregnant and the doorman was lovely he got me a drink and asked if I wanted to see a medic, I was fine I just needed a minute but he made me feel safe and as always machinehead were amazing

User

I my fiancée and her boy who is autistic went to Rock City for his 14th birthday to see SKINDRED, my fiancée is in a wheelchair and can walk very short distances, so was just about able to manage to go. The staff (especially the security team) were very helpful, they let us in round the back to minimise the amount of stairs we'd encounter, helped carry the chair, set us up under some stairs on a raised platform in the main room so my fiancée and her son would be able to see clearly. They basically allowed us to turn it into a private box. I can not stress how supportive and pleasant the security staff were to deal with and along with the show itself made for a great evening.

User

Great venue, close to the band's...easy to see from everywhere, atmosphere is amazing when you have great bands such as the dead daisies....rock by name, rock by nature. Rock city never fails

User

Another great gig Feeder with a two hour set, always love this venue if I had to change one thing it would be the choice of drinks. The San Miguel was awful, nice to see some locally sourced IPA, real ale, though you did have a good choice of tinned craft beer's.

User

Amazing staff. The Security Manager Shak has been absolutely brilliant with my teen daughter every time she has been. She has a few problems with crowds and interacting with people but he has looked after her every time and even offered to go to gigs elsewhere with her. A really nice guy, not many security men would look after a 14 year old girl like this.

User

All the bands I've seen there are awesome because I only buy tickets to awesome gigs. Great venue and if I was going to give constructive feedback then I like how you have a two pint cup but really we need to be making it a three pinta by now, it's 2018

User

A great venue with great gigs! I've been here a few times and always had a good night! I saw The Fratellis recently and they were amazing and so were the support group. The security staff at the front were also lovely and did a great job!

User

It's a great venue for live music, so many great bands go there but so many issues elsewhere. I don't bother with the bars any more - not enough bar staff and the beer selection is appalling anyway. Arrived in plenty of time to see franz ferdinand but missed two songs due to cloakroom inefficiency. I also wish the bands would start and end a little later... always seems a rush to get to weekday gigs from work and I am forever missing support bands!

User

Hi queued to get in doors opened went in staff was polite went to bar got served with one person in front got to front of stage at the side

Had a clear view of George Ezra

Stuck to floor a bit but if that’s the only thing to complain about

Fantastic night !! Thank you Rock City !!!!

User

Pretty good venue really, but I had to collect tickets on the day and it was a farce. Arrived and got in the queue with about 150-200 people in front of us. As doors opened, we moved towards the front, to be informed all ticket collections had to go into another queue. Half an hour later and still in the queue ( despite only a dozen people in front), all the general queue of around 1,500 had gone into the venue!! Open the collection boot earlier, so people who arrive early can pick up tickets and then get into the main queue!

User

First time I've been for many a yr. Last time I went it was carpeted round bars and walk ways. Well... that's if you could walk as you stuck to it. Was pleased to see carpet gone. Arrived about 6.30 no carpets but still stuck to floor at that early time in the evening.

Good venue for live bands and can see the bands from most view points.

Toilets horrible. Big ques at bars.

Nice to see somewhere with a smoke area for us sinners. Oh.... Feeder were fab.

User

Booked tickets on line n then queued for nearly an hour to get in, lots of security outside but worryingly not one checked any bags. By the time we got in first band was half way through, not well organised really !

User

Used to be good. Now just another rip off venue. Whichever dick decided you had to put a plastic bottle of water into a plastic cup needs a slap. Just a pure dick move. Won’t be returning anytime soon & I pretty much lived here at one point

User

It's difficult to find a good club with rock a d metal music and I thought this will be it.... the music and DJ's are great but that's it unfortunately. The worst is so called security which present them selves as no-brain ultimate rulers: they are rude to customers, treat them like necessary evil and feel like they can do what ever they want instead of securing the good fun for others they ruin it with their attitude. Most bar staff was nice but on the upper floor I was waiting forever with one more person to be served as apparently the woman behind the bar had plenty of more interesting thing to do.... not mentioning the horrible smell and sticky floor that would be it.

As a customer who leaves his hard earned money and is a part of your profit who expects to have fun and relax I felt like I went to wrong place, where you're treated like sh*t and staff was making a big favour with their so called service when it is their job which apparently is to difficult and complicated for them to do it properly.

User

I went to rock city last night with my friends and had a great night until one of them got physically picked up and dragged out the fire escape by the bouncers for absolutely no reason and not stating why. We asked them why he was suddenly kicked out and they stated that he was to drunk which he was not at all, if anything less drunk than others around us. The bouncers then threatened to throw us all out as well. They then made snide comments to him outside for being gay clearly kicking him out for this reason and seeming pleased about it. My friend then asked to let him back in and they said we were all ‘a fucking joke’ and picked her up and took her out to. There were then 4 bouncers who were incredibly intimidating to a group of girls shouting, swearing and spitting in our faces and grabbing all of us and physically pushing us outside. My friend asked one of them to let go of her as he was hurting her and he wouldn’t let go and then we were all pushed down the stairs in a really rough and disgusting way. We asked to speak to their manager and they refused and just told us to leave. I am appalled in the way that we were all treated last night and I think it’s disgusting that a club can let the bouncers be so homophobic and treat students, especially a group of girls in this way for absolutely no reason.

All the bands I've seen there are awesome because I only buy tickets to awesome gigs. Great venue and if I was going to give constructive feedback then I like how you have a two pint cup but really we need to be making it a three pinta by now, it's 2018

A great venue with great gigs! I've been here a few times and always had a good night! I saw The Fratellis recently and they were amazing and so were the support group. The security staff at the front were also lovely and did a great job!

Booked tickets on line n then queued for nearly an hour to get in, lots of security outside but worryingly not one checked any bags. By the time we got in first band was half way through, not well organised really !

Used to be good. Now just another rip off venue. Whichever dick decided you had to put a plastic bottle of water into a plastic cup needs a slap. Just a pure dick move. Won’t be returning anytime soon & I pretty much lived here at one point
