Visited for the first time today with my 4 month old baby and loved it. The pool design is perfect for families and the mixed open plan changing rooms are fantastic. There's even free hairdryers that work! I agree that parking wasn't great but that's a problem everywhere. I've read some reviews about it being too open plan from the foyer. Child abusers can enter the pool! They don't need to watch from behind glass!

User

My wife recently joined The Arena and was very impressed with the friendliness and customer service she received from Denise Taylor. Nothing was too much trouble for Denise she is an asset to your company .

User

My whole family enjoy the facilities Rushcliffe arena has to offer. My son who is 11 enjoys the badminton courts and the junior gym sessons and never any problems getting a space. My Daughter also has swimming lessons which she thoroughly enjoy and the fact that she can have free swim session is great. Both my partner and I enjoy the use of the courts, gym and pool and never have a problem with parking. Great price for the family and like past reviews have stated, iv paid a lot more for far worse.

User

Luke and the team have been great in helping me through the gym membership joining process and inductions. Great value, great facilities, great team!

User

Love this place I love the classes and staff are great! I decided to try circuit training with Luke he's absolutely brilliant honestly can't praise all the staff enough..

User

Incredible for babies toddlers and children learning to swim. Baby pool and toddler sessions are an innovation that mums and dads have been wanting for soo long

User

I have just been for my first swim in over two years and I feel fantabulous after managing half a mile! As a disabled person, I've been looking for somewhere with the right facilities for my needs. What a brilliant place this is - highly accessible with incredibly friendly and helpful staff. I even survived the hoist so that I can come with one assistant instead of two! Time to get back into my fitness passion! Thank you!

User

Great Facilities, friendly staff and very competitive prices compared to close by.

Highly recommend it

User

Absolutely brilliant facilities, we have a family membership which is well worth the money. I am always able to book on the classes and use the gym at various times of the day and can always access all the equipment. My kids love the pool and the swimming lessons continue to be great for my four year old. I haven't had any issues with car parking, sometimes it is busy but there's always spaces.

I have always found the changing rooms and showers spotless.

User

Visited on a Sunday at 2.30pm.. Parked easily enough, guessing due to no office staff on a Sunday. Then joined a small queue at reception. After five minutes told swimming pool was full, so would have to wait twenty minutes. Thirty people allowed in, then thirty people after forty minutes.

Paid, then took a left towards the changing rooms. Outside the changing rooms there are several white patio chairs, had to sit down and take our shoes and socks off to keep changing rooms clean. Entered the changing room and changed. Only one hook mind, could do with more. Then locked our belongings away in the locker which takes a £1 coin.

Entered the pool area, which is a decent side. Very busy mind especially in the children's area for my six year old son. Good water play area, and nice long lanes in the large pool. Relatively warm small pool, larger pool a little cooler.

After forty five minutes left the pool and went to use the showers, but they were out of use due to drainage. Changed then left..

Overall it's a nice place, possibly something like a ticket system for when it's busy would be a good idea, as standing isn't ideal for children. Showers need sorting too as not very hygienic. Will certainly go again, but try to avoid busy times if we can.

User

Arrived 6pm. Managed to park just fine. No que. Gym facilites excellent. Managed to have a great work out. Used all machines i wanted to. Had a very pleasant swim afterwards even with a class taking place. Finished off with a sauna. Changing facilities uostairs excellent. Swimming pool changing seemed a bit dirty. Showers luke warm. Nowhere to sit to take off shoes when you come in so no one bothers hence floor dirty. No where to spin your swimming gear dry afterwards. But still good value for money. Will keep coming. Ive paid far more for far worse.

User

We went at 3ish on a Sunday and children's pool was quite full.price I found for family swim was excellent. Girl at side of children's pool looked bored out of her head. When I asked her simple question mumbled at me and went back to her vacant staring all she needed was chewing gum to complete the look.children running and not being told bit worrying. Changing rooms decent but floors soaked . Women's toilets dirty. My main complaint about it would be the full length glass at children's pool. Why on earth is it not frosted or something. Gave me the creeps at thought.however the main pool was lovely to swim in and I loved the proper steps.was cold but relaxing. Kids liked it and the shower cubicles.

User

Not happy about the exercise class provision. I can't get onto any class as they're all booked up or there's not enough classes running.

The swimming changing rooms were filthy last time I visited. More regular monitoring and cleaning needs to take place especially at peak times as I couldn't put my toddler down to paddle and wade through dirt and hair. I don't like the exposure of the pool area facing out to Rugby rd. Can the view or glass be obscured in some way? It doesn't seem right.

Also the building and entrance in particular are cold, stark and unwelcoming. The signage to navigate your way around from room to room, is unclear. This is not the family friendly place I had hoped for.

User

Nice modern arena with good facilities however the car park is too small for the amount of people and there is no seating whereby you can watch your child during a swimming lesson. Who builds a modern pool with no seating? Had to watch my son swim from about 30 yards away through some glass in the cafe along with 30 or so other parents. The glass isn't even in line with the pool so you've got to constantly stand at the glass and bend your neck. The most ridiculous thing is that you can see it fine from the road in all its lit up glory, perhaps I should watch it from the car park next time!

User

Well after being a member of the old Arena and carrying on my membership throughout the works at a huge cost to me, how disappointed I am in the new facilities.

I've been half a dozen times now since it's grand opening, thinking each time it will get better.

Where do I start, hopeless Car Park- no space at all, too many office workers taking up spaces, contractors vans still everywhere.

Changing rooms badly designed, no room to actually get changed.

The gym has been absolutely rammed every time I have been, so much so that I can't actually get on anything.

Classes; well what classes, fully booked up two weeks in advance for anything.

Swimming pool, shocking design, my kids keep badgering me to take them and frankly I keep coming up with excuses, how can anyone think that putting kids in a goldfish bowl with everyone to see is a great design. It's so uncomfortable it's untrue.

Quite clearly it's been poorly thought out, taken on far too many members for the size of the place. Unfair on those that have had membership for a number of years and were promised so much if we kept our memberships on whilst the place was closed, what a waste of money.

It's been clearly designed with the council workers in place and the facilities were an after thought.

Thanks Rushcliffe council.

Took 2 year old to 'inflatable fun' today. If you are imagining a pool full of inflatables, balls, floats etc and a hoard of happy kids then you will be very disappointed. there was just one big inflated slide, down the deep end, and a rope partitioning off the shallow end. So in essence, if your child can't can't swim, all they'll get to do is watch shivering from the shallow end where there was nothing for them. And the kids pool was shut as there was a lesson in one tiny section of it. Drove 30 mins to get there and paid over a tenner for the privilege.

User

Today my husband and I took our 1 year old and 6 year old swimming at 11:00 only to have paid £13.50 to find the children's pool closed due to the "swimming lessons taking place the children get distracted while having their lessons"! As this was our first visit (and last) we were totally unaware as there was nothing on the website and no signs put out plus when the receptionist took our money asking the age of my children did not let us know! The main pool was freezing, no toys provided (would had taken some if we had known) and as my 1 year old had arm bands on she was not allowed past mid way as it was deep- while I appreciate the safety aspect we were trying to find some space! Safe to say we got out after 15 minutes! All the showers at the front of the changing rooms were all out of order! I did however get a full refund on request but think it's appalling theat the children's pool is shut on a Saturday morning when you are trying to build your children's water confidence and this is where they can do this! There was a lot of unhappy customers today and I think if they do not re-think this they will loose a lot of money! The experience has put me off to the point I will never return!

User

The car park is an absolute joke. How when planning they didn't realised they'd need more spaces to accommodate the clients they must've known would be needed the space to park. Missed classes as there was no parking! Make the reception smaller, get a few cars in there! Awful. Classes are just as good as they where at the old places, brilliant instructors. Swimming pool is too open, anyone can view the pool from the outside, doesn't seem right. Also, it's now near impossible to get onto classes that we've been going to since it was at the old gym. People book on and don't turn up! Well done with that, you've achieved 1 star

User

Rushcliffe Arena you really need to take your safeguarding responsibilities seriously.

In May 2017 my daughter reported to you that she had been filmed whilst getting changed after swimming. She identified the man who had put his camera under the gap between the partition wall and the floor. The Police were involved.

You promised to block the gaps so that this could not happen again......

You did not block them and the same man - Gerard Thomas - did it again in October. This time to a 12 year old girl who was understandably traumatised. He may have recorded several other females between May and October -

You should be ashamed that you did not take action when you first knew. You could have prevented this predatory man from preying on young female victims.

I hope that you have taken action now.
