This association is basically religious and Catholic in nature. It is an independently run group governed by its own elected set of officers. It invites and welcomes the direction of and guidance from the Catholic clergy, in the person of the parish priest of the Blessed Sacrament Church in Braunstone, Leicester which is the central base of the association, for the spiritual growth of its members. It also subjects itself to the regulation of the local Bishop for its deep integration into the diocesan pastoral life and activities. Moreover, it also fosters mutual communication and fellowship with all the devotees to the Infant Jesus throughout the world, most especially with the Confadia del Santo Nio de Cebu devotees in the Basilica del Santo Nñio de Cebu in the Philippines where this particular branch of devotion originates. In this regard, the members of Santo Nñio Leicester consider themselves as confederate devotees with all devotees to the Infant Jesus worldwide. (Constitutions & By-Laws, art. 2)
