School Of Calisthenics

About School Of Calisthenics

The School Of Calisthenics - online progressive training programs & workshops to help anyone redefine their 'impossible'.
As seen in Men's Fitness

School Of Calisthenics Description

Our School motto is ‘raise and rise again until lambs become lions’. Along your Calisthenics journey you’ll have to keep picking yourself up, time and time again. The important thing is not whether you fail or succeed initially but that you’re learning, and that you keep learning. Keep getting up and never give up.

At the School of Calisthenics (SoC) we are passionate about three things;
1. Using Calisthenics to explore and expand the physical limits and boundaries of our body and mind!
2. Learning new and seemingly ‘impossible’ things!
3. Helping others to redefine their own ‘impossible’ by teaching calisthenics safely and effectively using knowledge and experience of Exercise Science and Strength & Conditioning coaching.

We have therefore combined our knowledge and understanding of sport science, strength and conditioning, how the body adapts and how to practically and systematically apply that within the realm of calisthenics to develop the SoC Framework.

SINGLE ARM HANG HELP! We've talked a lot about the benefits of hanging recently.
Often going from a double arm active hang straight to a single arm hang and be a step too far, so we need a bridging progression.
... Give yourself a single, or two, or three to help progressively bridge that gap!

PODCAST Ep.49 - UKSCA Strength, Play & Bomb Proof Shoulders Presentation
We were fortunate enough to be asked by UKSCA (UK Strength & Conditioning Association) to present at the 2018 annual conference about using calisthenics to improve shoulder health and shoulder performance within sports.
We had a mixture of theory (rationale, science and research) and practical (coaching having the chance to 'feel' the theory in practise), the podcast here covers the presentation section ...but if you'd like to see the full video including the practical element then head over to our YouTube channel

Common mistake of the PIKE PUSH UP!
Do you struggle with this?

HAVE YOU GOT THE POWER? You need a powerful pull for the bar muscle up! Remember that;
POWER = STRENGTH x SPEED
... So you need to work on BOTH your strength and speed not just one of the other!

You guys are definitely the best I'm sure you guys will reach a huge number of subscribers and you will change thousands of lives!

You train for love of calisthenics and for the love of helping people. You are changing the world, guys. I hope someday I can meet you! Much love from Syria.

Took part in the Beginners workshop in Harpenden and it was better than I expected, Tim and Seth are two lovely patient guys very professional I hope to see more workshops in my area , practicing my frog stands and skin the Cat , Thank you Guys for a great day ! x

Took my first workshop with school of Calisthenics today and loved every min. The coaches are amazing, they explained everything really well and gave me lots of progressions and movements to work towards. I feel inspired with new challenges of movements and strength to work towards. But I also feel like I learnt a lot about isometric movements and the path to progress to where I want to be. Thanks for being so awesome !!!!

Last weekend (16th December '17), I was lucky enough to secure a place on the very first Intermediate workshop in Nottingham. #humbling #foundmyfocus #cravetheburn

The team we friendly, relaxed and informative and really opened my eyes to training in a new way. I've always considered myself athletic and strong but this weekend revealed a humbling weakness of mine- one of Jacko's keys principles, Balance .

I really bought into the concept of being a pupil at 'The School Of Calisthenics' and the course has allowed me to advance my training with archers, forearm stands, typewriter pull-ups and superman push-up.

Despite waking up as stiff as a board, I've been inspired to have fun with the concepts learnt and have the determination to be a qualified graduate .

In the new year, I look forward to revisiting the gym to show off my skills (after a lot of practise and hard work). Anyone wanting fresh variety in their workouts or a weakness to be exposed to then work upon should experiment with this concepts delivered upon this course and the apply the teams concepts. #IWILLRedefineMyImpossible.

I've recently finished one of their workshops and I can honestly say that they have taught me more in 2.5 hours than the past couple of years that I've been trying to get into calisthenics. They haven't just taught me that exercises but have also helped me to develop the proper form for each of them. I loved the entire workshop which was probably the highlight of the week for me.

I went to one of the progression workshops for handstands, muscle ups, and the human flag in Newcastle. As soon as I walked in both Tim and Jacko made me feel welcome and relaxed. Their approach to the afternoon was well structured and really enjoyable. All the activities were broken down into progressions for all levels and abilities. This included steps for moving forward if you mastered the skill in the session or already knew those steps. For anybody interested in calisthenics, body movement, or just a different way of training, then I would highly recommend these sessions or reaching out for some advice.

I have been into calisthenics for some time, playing around mainly but never got properly educated on it.

I travelled all the way from Gibraltar to Manchester this weekend to attend both the beginners and progressions workshops on the same day and it was absolutely awesome...full of great positive energy from the start to finish! Brilliant coaching from Jacko and Tim, very informative, and great fun...a whole day felt like a couple of hours!

They educated me on everything from stretching to improving mobility, movement preparation, applying strength, capacity, etc and they broke down every move with tips on progressions thoroughy yet in a simple way.

You can see they are both very passionate about calisthenics, excellent at what they do yet humble which is amazing! They really know their stuff and are great at delivering it too. I am so grateful and truly appreciate this experience and all the help and motivation that they have given me. I honestly cannot recommend these guys enough, their knowledge and expertise is second to none and I will definitely be attending more workshops. Meanwhile, I’ll keep working hard to redefine my impossible which, because of you guys, I know is now possible!!!

Thanks guys!!!! much love xx

I first saw these guys on Instagram so followed them as what they were doing was interesting. Because of this I then decided to have a go at calisthenics and their videos are great. I started training for the muscle up and when I contacted them for some training advice they gave me some great advice I also got there muscle up guide which is excellent. I have also now just attended their beginners workshop which you should all try if you are getting into calisthenics as it will give you a guide on how to work on some cool moves. Highly recommended and great down to earth guys willing to share their journey and knowledge with you.

Had an awesome time with Jacko and Seth today at the workshop in Edinburgh. They brought my skills on greatly with great explanations and demos. Would recommend to all and will definitely do it again. Thanks Guys
