S. e. w. is run by me, a designer, stitcher, maker . . . . . lover of vintage clothes, gorgeous fabrics, hand and machine sewing and beautifully made anything . . . . . with a Masters Degree in Design and Manufacture, specialising in Fashion and Textiles, and over 20 years spent working in the clothing industry as a designer, pattern cutter and garment technologist.

I had the enormous pleasure of spending the day doing the patchwork workshop with the talented Mel last week. It was such a treat from start to end. Loved the way we began in the gallery getting inspiration from the collection there. The fabrics were utterly gorgeous, and it was such fun doing the whole process from cutting the templates to hand stitching the hexagons. So beautifully nostalgic of childhood patchworking, and I'm thrilled with the end result. Mel orchestrated the day so well, including yummy lunch at the Collection, and I would recommend her workshops to everyone, beginners or advanced alike. Worth every penny. Thanks, Mel!
