Wanted somewhere to celebrate my parents 45th wedding anniversary that could keep young children in our party entertained, reasonable prices and a good range of food to choose from. From my initial call to our arrival today Lauren the manager was fantastic! She organised a larger table for us, let us bring balloons and a special home made party cake, offered to take our orders at the table to avoid joining the queue at the counter, asked if we wanted food keeping warm while we helped toddlers with their food first, asking if they could help in any other way etc

The food was better than some I've eaten in really posh restaurants and for nine of us to eat a main course plus drinks for less than £50 I cannot speak more highly about this lovely place

Thank you so much for making my parents day of celebration such a special one

The best thing was the service. A young women there was fantastic when my youngest son couldn't eat his food, she switched it out and was very pleasant. Great with advice. It is very busy but the food was good overall. Really lovely place

First visit today, mainly for the Gruffalo Orienteering. Free entry with £6 all day parking is nothing when you look at the activities you can partake in; we've had a fabulous day! Lots to see and do for all ages. We can't wait to come back.

Been to cafe for years & years. Always great food but today we had Sunday roast beef dinner. Wow it was superb. Huge roast potatoes, Yorkshire pud, roast carrots, roast parsnips, cabbage, broccoli & swede, with loads of tender beef with gravy and a gravy boat too. Think it was £7 but it was so worth the money. Well done chef!! Will be back for sure!

After an enjoyable morning biking the red trail we headed to the cafe for one of their legendary sausage rolls. Unfortunately as both the cakes and rolls were in the open a large fly seemed to be enjoying them more which put me off buying them. Instead we played safe and went for the sausage cob option. A shame as the rolls are to die for.

Went to the blue cross five mile walk yesterday after the walk we stopped at the Caffè we only had drinks but the staff where plesent and welcoming and service was saficiant

User

Had nice lunch here after hunting for the Gruffalo. Only had sandwiches but they were freshly made and very tasty.lovely clean place and staff were pleasant and efficient.

User

A lovely place for all ages. Expensive car park charges but the money is being put to good use with all the ground work that is being undertaken. New Toilet block. £4 for 2hours.

User

Always a busy cafe. Jacket potato’s could have been bigger for the price charged, at least they were hot.

I have visited the cafe a couple of times now. The time before this mine and my partners food came out long before my small child's despite all being ordered at the same time which isn't easy to explain to a hungry 2 year old (our food wasn't really anything suitable to put him off with while he waited).

Yesterday on my most recent visit, the same seemed to be happening again. After a few minutes I went to find a member of staff only to be told that my child's food hadn't been put through with the order. I was given the option of paying and they would then make it, however that again meant waiting for his food while he waited. No offer of even a discount for his food by way of apology. I instead got him a cake which he could eat quickly as there were no sausage rolls or anything such like that he could eat straight away (of course I still paid full price for his cake).

The food is gorgeous however after being consistently let down by mistakes and staff too rushed to get things right and an apparent lack of organisation I will instead start bringing picnics when I come (I will not let these experiences put me off visiting an otherwise fantastic park).
