Trail conditions are fast, dry and loose, that miserable long winter is a distant memory.
Take extra care though of front wheel washouts and in this climate rampant vegetation, weŌĆÖve been working hard to cut it back but thereŌĆÖs still plenty out there to catch you out.

It's not long now until another group of participants join us in the forest to complete the residential section of their Gold Duke of Edinburgh's Award. We do still have some places left on this summer's course which takes place 7-11th August.
If you're interested in learning bushcraft skills, making lifelong friends and celebrating your DofE success then get in touch with Bushcraft Ranger Emily on 0300 067 4255 or emily.butt@forestry.gov.uk.

The risk of fire remains very high during this prolonged period of dry and warm weather we are experiencing. In fact, we have suffered with forest fires here at Sherwood Pines.
So far we have been extremely lucky thanks to the swift action of Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service. With no forecast of rain on the horizon, we kindly ask that all visitors to site help us to take extra care whilst here. Put cigarettes out properly and not on the ground; do not drop glass and r...efrain from using barbeques on site.
Additional safety advice from Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue can be found below, but if you see a wild fire, get to a safe place and call 999.

Due to this prolonged hot and dry spell, the European Fire Information System have given our area the status of High/Very High Fire Danger Forecast.
Please take extra care when visiting the forest - Put cigarettes out properly and not on the ground; do not drop glass and only have campfires or barbecues in designated areas.
If you see a wildfire, get to a safe place and call 999.

The forest is the perfect place to visit in the hot weather. The trees provide plenty of shade to keep you cool even on the hottest days.

What a cracking venue for an outside concert. Well organised, plenty of staff on hand and an awesome band. We will be back for sure.

User

Went to see Gary Barlow lastnight the event was very well organised and getting out the car park afterwards was brilliant. Very well organised " well done" only thing I would say after going to a concert there before is please get some screens up so people at the back can see !

User

Well organised event, so easy to queue for the event and the pick up drop off system and cut off time was amazing for allowing a great flow for exiting traffic. Gary Barlow event was magical and the security staff were ever so friendly ’┐Į’┐Į’┐Į’┐Į’┐Į’┐Į

User

We only went for the UB40 concert there! Staff were very friendly and helpful! Even gave us free water! We were also given free water throughout the concert!

Only one small moan, the stones on the path hurt feet!!

User

We attended the UB40 gig and I have to say, you've got some bloody amazing staff! I was with my mum who has a disability but also recently had hip replacement surgery. The help of your staff was absolutely amazing! The layout of the event was incredible and all in all we were just blown away by the kindness of everyone! JOB WELL DONE!!! MASSIVE THANKS TO EVERYONE!!! (UB40 were bloody good too!)

User

Love it..

Went to see Gary Barlow...we had a 4 day break...and had the best time...

I've been one of the reenactors who come to do the annual Spring Thing, and it is regularly one of our own personal favourite events. The facilities are great, the ground is comfy, relatively easy to get to.

User

I love it at Shewood Pines, it was the first time I had been there last night to watch UB40 and I would definitely go and watch another gig there without a doubt. The atmosphere was absolutely amazing, the weather was gorgeous and UB40 was really good live so I couldnŌĆÖt have asked for a better experience. I would definitely recommend friends and family to visit this place ¤æŹ

User

Great place, fun trails to ride with a good cafe, cycle centre and easy parking. My only gripe is the amount of litter on the trails. I wish people would pick up after themselves.

User

First time here go ape is expensive but itis expensive where ever you do it but instructors were great with kids and kept them safe lots of lovely walks

User

Fantastic place , really enjoyed having a pic-nic and being able to chill before we seen eye Candy Gary Barlow. ’┐Į highly recommend sherwood pines for a venue concerts.

User

Fantastic concert Saturday night , friendly staff, great atmosphere, very well organised !

Lovely to sit with a picnic and didnŌĆÖt feel cramped up or on top of each other ,would definitely come again to see another concert !! 5 stars well done sherwood pines .

User

Came to the Gary Barlow show tonight and loved it!! Considering how many people were there it was one of the most organised concerts I have ever been to. The lovely staff got us into the arena quickly, and when leaving the car parks after the flow of the traffic was well managed and organised. Well done and thank you to all the staff working. Can't wait to come back for more concerts here.

User

Went to Gary Barlow concert on Saturday. Amazing organisation during the day ...great facilities for those queuing all day...and getting us to the stage in an organised and safe way. My only complaint would be getting out. ..we were in car park 4 and it took an hour and a half to get from the car park to the exit road....it seemed as if cars were exited from various points quicker than we were. ...

User

Went on an evening to attend a concert. Very organised attendants and majority of them were in good spirits and joining in with the crowd. The concert was brilliant and we were out of the car park within 5 minutes which compared to an hour at Thetford forest 3 weeks ago felt amazing... very enjoyable

User

My two boys (1 & 5) always love it here. Cafe starting to look better now the improvements are nearly finished.

New Go Ape being constructed, looks good so far but we really miss the board walk/tree house play area they used to have. It made it so much more fun there for the boys. My oldest used to play on it for hours with his little friends. They knocked it down, said something else would be built soon, then just put more picnic benches there and seem to have forgotten about it. So upset about that and I know plenty of other people are too.

User

I've been coming to Sherwood Pines fairly regularly for the last 5 years or so for the cycle trails. I've lost count of the amount of times that I've lapped the red route, which has got to be one of the tamest red routes in the country, but still a good workout. The facilities have been upgraded recently which is probably why the car parking charges have increased. I do find the ┬Ż6 to park all day a bit steep, which is why I park on the roadside and cycle in. All in all its pretty good, but not perfect.

User

Fist time mountain biking at Sherwood Pines and thought the red route was really good fun and flowy! Nice feel to the place! Only downside was the amount of litter on the route! Wouldn't put me off coming back though as we had a great ride!X

User

Never been before, normally go to Rufford park for a walk but thought we would try Sherwood pines. Would like to have spent more then 1 hour there but we thought the parking was very high ┬Ż2.00. Not sure if we would go back if itŌĆÖs going to cost. DonŌĆÖt mind paying for parking but at ┬Ż2 is a bit high. It should be one payment per car,all day.
