No need to discard any of your sourdough starter when you are feeding it to make your sourdough bread doughs..!!
Why not make some very simple sourdough waffles, they taste delicious easy to make and taste fabulous and they also freeze beautifully. Then you simply pop them in the toaster or under the grill for a few moments before drenching them in maple syrup or any sweet or savoury topping you desire. You can also make many variations of the waffle batter to suit your own p...references.

We had the new Malaysian cookery course on Friday evening. We were preparing the classic Chicken Satay skewers, Peanuts Sauce, compressed Rice Cubes and cucumber and red onion salad.

I've been working on some new course content for the pudding club this Autumn, my Mum gave me some Brambley apples from her orchard And my brother and sister in law gave me some wonderful dessert apples so I thought I'd make that fabulous Austrian Pastry Apple Strudle.
It's fairly easy with a little practise to learn the skill of pulling the the dough to achieve the super fine sheet of pastry need to make the delicious gently spiced apple and fruit filled pastry.

Thank you to all the students on yesterday's Artisan Bread level 1 and 2 courses over the weekend. We had some fabulous loaves of bread, old English Muffins, crumpets and Stottie. I think my family and I will be in for a bit of a "carb" overload for the next few days.

Great to be back in the school today after the summer break. On Tonight's class we have a new short course "Hand Raised Pork Pie" on this short three hour course We will be preparing the hot water pastry, preparing the seasoned pork filling from cuts of belly pork, learning the different moulding techniques used to form the pie and finally I will demonstrate the adding Of the jelly that surrounds the pork pie.

Thank you all to people that attended yesterday's Afternoon Tea Event at Keyston Village Hall to raise money for Raunds 2nd Scout group, thank you also to all those that contributed cakes for the cake sale and afternoon tea or helped to run the different stalls and games.
I'd also like to make a very special thank you to Angela and Kimberley for all their hard work organising a very successful ... fundraising event, they managed to raise over £420 for the 2nd Raunds Scout group so well done to you both..!!

Whole lot of baking going on today at home..!!
A glut of eggs from our girls and Mum's given me a large bowl of plums from the orchard.
Angie and Tilly baked a fabulous vegan Chocolate cake with Avocado which tastes amazing...!!
... I've been baking an Italian Plum cake, I'll post up the recipes if anyone is interested, happy Hols all ..!!! X

I had a great day at James' cooking school making focaccia and cavaletti with duck in valpolicella - oh and a wild mushroom risotto �� I learnt so much, and not just about the things I cooked. James has some great stories, and was a fab teacher and host! I'll definitely be back �
