This is the company who found my purse on the road after I drove off with it on my car roof. Their mechanic stopped, picked it up and took it to the office. They then went to the trouble of finding me and reuniting me with my missing purse. When I went to pick it up all the staff I met were really kind and friendly.

Fantastic customer service, and I wasn't even a customer!

Special thanks to Jim the mechanic and Sharon who managed to find me.

Just returned from weekend coach tour to Twilight at Kew Gardens and Oxford. Very enjoyable. Kew Gardens was magical and Oxford interesting. Accommodation at the Holiday Inn, Reading was very good. Thanks to the lovely coach driver John Clarke who was very patient and diplomatic having to deal with passengers who failed to return to the coach on time, even though he had clearly written out the itinerary displayed at the front of the coach and had also read out departure times. 5/5

We have just returned from a 5 day holiday to St Ives. The pick up and transfers were very good. The drivers friendly and professional. The family Hotel we stayed in was the St Merry . It was lovely and clean and the food content and quantity was amazing. Blanche and Mike and there staff were brilliant. Nith8ng was too much trouble. The only thing tgs5 spoilt it for me was the excursions. The first day was to Falmouth which is fine but not for 5 hours. Surely two places could have been organised for the day. Then the second trip out was to Penzance, where we stayed for three hours wandering round shops. We have seen most of Cornwall but our two friends haven’t. We didn’t come to Cornwall to wonder around run down shopping centres, when there are many beautiful places to visit in Cornwall. Mevaguissey, Padstow , Moushole, Newquay. So very disappointed in the excursions for our friends sake rather than ours.

Murder mystery weekend to Cardiff and a visit to Gloucester, was a great experience. Must give big thanks to the driver, Neil (Scottish) who made the trip even more memorable. His humour was delightful and his driving was excellent. Third visit to hotel and this trip was much improved. The evening meal more substantial and tasty. The room was clean and comfortable. And plenty of choices at breakfast. Again, a big thank you to Neil.

This was our 2nd Day Trip with Skills after we went to Cadbury World / Sealife Centre, Birmingham a couple of years ago. Which was really good, I would give that a 5 out of 5.

We went to Chester Zoo yesterday which was a birthday treat for our son. Our driver was wonderful, careful on the roads and informative and polite however, the coach didn't look like it had been cleaned properly, I had to wipe our mini tables down with a wet wipe and there were crumbs / debris on the seat adjusters.

Our main gripe was the amount of time we had to spend at our destination. We didn't arrive until just after 12pm (already later than planned) and were told we had to be back by 4:45pm - not a great deal of time considering the size of the zoo and that we had just spent 3 hours getting there! We soon realised that we didn't have time to sit and have lunch and so ate sandwiches as we continued to look around and ate the rest of our food on the coach trip home! We knew we were never going to see the whole of the zoo when we booked as reviews said it needed 2 or 3 trips but I do think we saw less than we could have given the time we had there. I think it would be a better trip if the start pick up was at least an hour earlier. I would not have minded the earlier start if it ment our time there could have been a bit more leisurely!

Recently went to Ladies day at Ascot

What a journey ..picked up first stop Nottingham then when we finally set off pick up Loughborough then Leicester finally on route to London were we had 5 hrs free time ...Dumped and left to find you way nd get lost .

On way to hotel at last .. get there No room from 6.30 till. 8.30 I had no where to wash .. check my sugars change a dressing and when I asked our lovely coach driver replied "I got my own meds to do "

I was advice to go to dinner which was now being served 7pm

The food was disgusting

I am dirty from travelling all day I am tired and upset feeling vulnerable.

When I went back to reception they had allocated rooms for others but not myself ..

Skills were made aware of the problem and a week later there is still no apology .

There was more little mishaps and a comment from the driver I found offensive

Went to Chester and Tatton Flower Show 22nd 23rd July. The coach struggled going up hill and was cold, people had coats on.

When we arrived at Tatton Park we were told by the driver that we needed to be back on the coach at 2.30pm other tours that arrived at the same time were going to leave at 4pm . It made you mindful of the time and missed some of the events that were happening.

This weekend we went on the trip to Chester and Chester Zoo. The trip didn’t get off to a good start as we were picked up half an hour late. The driver didn’t introduce himself or talk through emergency exits etc. He later told someone that he doesn’t get his training until next week! The driver then picked up at Arnold, and drove into a tiny car park whilst passengers were clearly waiting on the path. This lead to a 10 minute delay trying to get out of the car park. By the time we got to the last pick up we were an hour late. As we were driving on the motorway we passed various signs for Chester, but didn’t follow any of them! As we approached Manchester the driver said we were 5 minutes from our destination... he didn’t know that he had to take us to Chester and was heading towards the hotel! He then announced he needed to take a 45 minute break, so pulled up in an Industrial estate. He then drove to a nearby KFC and everyone was offloaded for the break. He said that he didn’t have any information about going to Chester... By the time we got to Chester (after 6 hours travelling) it was 3pm. We left at 5 meaning we only had 2 hours in Chester, not really enough time to do anything, and then had an hours journey back to the hotel. Day 2 didn’t start well either, after saying we were leaving for the zoo at 8:45am, we actually left at 9:45. The driver then reversed into a tree, leaving a large splinter in the top corner of the bus. I’d hate to think what would’ve happened had it gone through the window! Whilst driving to the zoo, we missed various turn offs again, a few diversions and a dangerous u-turn in the middle of a road, not very safe driving all round! We arrived at the zoo well after 11am. The journey home also took a detour, avoiding the motorways, which would’ve been the quickest route. Overall we were very disappointed with the organisation of the trip. The driver was not very helpful and didn’t communicate to the passengers, leading to frustration as nobody knew what was happening. He laughed when he made mistakes, some of them fairly dangerous! Hopefully the mistakes are rectified to avoid others being disappointed

My sister and I have been loyal customers for several years yet when she tried to pay a balance today she was treated very badly, she was told she hadn't made a booking or paid a deposit, even though she was not only able to give an exact date she was able to give exact time of her phone calls .

Not good enough she was asked to check bank statements and ring back , this involved a journey to the bank, she was even asked if she was sure she had booked with skills

When she returned from the bank the operator said she would have to check their records to confirm that she had made the payment ( why she couldn't do this before one wonders ). She of course found my sisters deposit and that they had taken the money the day after we booked. She then recalled that computers crashed that day she obviously didn't ( ? )Remember this earlier

The offence and insult to my sister and the time she as wasted today is not typical of the treatment we have previously encountered but still hurtful

Going from nottingham to mablethorpe on Saturday was almost 4 hours each way without a break as we had to pick up at arnold and Mansfield ,were hoping to go to Blackpool for the illuminations but wouldn't like to think how long that would take so will give it a miss

User

Arrogant driver, only did what he wanted to do instead of what everyone else wanted to, he changed times and didn't inform everyone of any changes he also spent most of the time trying to queue jump and didn't take into consideration of people with mental and physical disabilities or those with other health conditions..... the holiday could of been a lot better than it was

User

im absolutely disgusted with this company. my mother has been taking coach trips with skills for many years. she's due to go to eastbourne on saturday. last week it was discovered that she had a tumour in her breast. luckily it was very small so they rushed the case through and had her in for surgery to remove it yesterday. she called skills up last week, as soon as she was aware of the situation to swap her trip to one in the future but was gobsmacked to be told that it is only possible with 40 days notice. how is this possible with a company that specialises in coach trips for the elderly? who gets 40 days notice of an illness? my mum is now determined to go on this trip on saturday just 2 days after surgery and i am worried sick and i promise if anything happens to her, i will be holding skills solely responsible and will make sure the whole world knows how you treat your elderly customers. i am disgusted that you would do this to a long term customer who has just been diagnosed with cancer. DISGUSTED

User

One word - shambolic!! Yes, I have received a response to my complaint, after chasing! And an apology, if you can call it that, again after chasing! Responses and apologies should be forthcoming as a matter of course, not because you have been shamed into it. Even more so when the problem we had was actually spotted by a member of our party and not actually by skills, a point which skills failed to acknowledge in their so called apology letter. Customer service seriously needs improving.

User

My family and I would strongly recommend NOT booking with Skills.

My mum booked a trip for the Doctor Who experience in Cardiff for this weekend as a mother's day and birthday treat (it's her birthday on 8th March). My sisters and I were very much looking forward to it but my mum very sadly and suddenly passed away on 22nd Feb.

With funeral proceedings and dealing with our grief, we are simply unable to go and we asked Skills for some discretion in this one rare instance - if they couldn't return my mum's money then at least offer us another trip so that we could go in my mum's honour. They refused us even that. They said that because of the amount of days to the trip they will not give us any money back or offer us anything else.

As anyone can imagine, this is a particularly difficult time for us. Skills have taken my mum's money and refuse to show any discretion or compassion. Considering Skills are a family business, this treatment is disgraceful and the entire company should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves.

User

I'm not happy at all due to go Legoland activity centre Manchester next Saturday, and this morning I received a letter to say it's been cancelled. So now I have to tell my 2 boys who have been excited about going for that we're not going now. Would of been nice to know sooner. Off putting booking another trip in case it gets cancelled again

User

Hi me and my mum have just got back from your 2 day trip to the waldorf with afternoon tea .we're do I start we were told to be at our pick up point at 7:45 am we didn't leave there till 8:45 on a feeder bus to Derby to pick up our coach .trip to London was fine till we got there the driver didn't have a clue what was going on there was no communication whatsoever a complete shambles we then had no idea what time the coach was picking us up the following day until 30 mins before we were due to leave .in the brochure it says we have free time in London till 3 so we thought great get picked up from the hotel at 3 but NO the driver decided we needed to go and be dropped off elsewhere. Anyway after getting back to Derby to get our feeder bus we was then messed about and told we would be the last drop off at the depot after going elsewhere your customer service is very very poor I will not be travelling with skills anymore or recommending you

User

Booked a holiday for my mums Christmas present to Norfolk. Since booking they firstly changed the itinerary and today informed that the whole holiday cancelled but given options of Devon, a steam experience and s £5 compensation. The holiday was booked for September and cancelled due to insufficient interest. Not impressed and didn’t see any terms or conditions regarding skills cancelling like this. Would seriously suggest not booking anything you look forward to like s holiday if they cancel like this. Now spending time finding a suitable alternative for my mums present. Worse still skills would accept the balance after they knew trip was cancelled, really poor. Thank you skills for a wonderful experience.
