Has anyone any experience of 'access to an oral language modifier' for exams please?

I'd read about the child I saw today before I saw him: 'out of control, a nightmare, violent, scares staff and children', sure he yelled at me to f-off and go f myself but he's actually a lovely boy in crisis; frightened and overwhelmed by the world. We need so much more understanding of SEMH in children or we will make the situation worse through ignorance and/or fear. Makes me very sad :-(
