This Saturday 8 December there will be a Smithers Purslow stall in Uppingham at the Market Place from 8.30am to 12.30pm, full of delicious cakes & bakes as well as a TOMBOLA with the most fantastic prizes to be won!

... As you know, Smithers Purslow is currently celebrating 40 years in business (May 2018-May 2019). To mark this milestone the firm is currently in the process of raising over £40,000 for national and local charities. Nationally, the main beneficiaries will be children’s charities Rainbow Trust and Make A Wish; locally the Evergreen Care Trust, Matt Hampson Foundation; and a range of others nominated by staff.
Other charity fundraising events so far have included:
Smithers Purslow's 2nd charity golf day at The Leicestershire Golf Club, Evington in June where we managed to raise double the total of last year's charity golf day. All proceeds went to the Matt Hampson Foundation.
The Three Peaks Yacht Race Challenge in July this year, where a team of five sailed from Barmouth to Fort William, ran up to the summits of Snowden, Scafell Pike & Ben Nevis and back down again, as well as a cycling stage in between. Team Smithers did superbly well and won their Challenge category as well as raising the most money for charity thanks to the most amazing, overwhelming pledges that were given to help us on our way to the £40,000.00 challenge.
In October we held a German-themed 'Oktoberfest' at Uppingham School in the magical Memorial Hall. It turned into the most entertaining event with a live Oompah band, authentic German food and free-flowing German beer & wine throughout the whole evening. The Oompah band soon brought the evening to life with much hilarity and laughter and it was thoroughly enjoyed by all, as well as most importantly raising a large amount towards our target.
As well as the above, Smithers Purslow has also been involved in raising money for the usual yearly charity events it supports: The Macmillan Coffee Morning, Children In Need, Christmas Jumper Day....

We are so proud to be supporting Make A Wish as one of our charities on the Barmouth to Fort William Three Peaks Yacht Race Team SP are nearing the end of the challenge, have have been truly awesome. Once they sail in to Fort William in the next few hours the runners will ascend & descend Ben Nevis before a sprint to the finish!

The team have had a brilliant day of sailing today .... currently leading the field 👌🏻Some spectacular photos to share with you as they head for Fort William

Andy & Caroline arrive back in the early hours of the morning - elated, exhausted but the smiles never fade! Amazing achievement - well done Team SP....who are currently sailing away into the lead again!

2 out of 3 peaks conquered and now .....They’ve made it back! The cyclists 🚴‍♀️ 🚴‍♂️ are back on Team SP Clan Charters yacht and it’s smiles all the way....they’ve made it past the sea lock and are headed out to sea.
