Shree Ram Krishna Hari

A beautiful CD with lilting melodies in praise of Krishna and Ram. Listening to the tracks carries me to the flowing Yamuna river where Krishna plays the Raas Leela with the gopis.The music on

this CD flows like the Yamuna river, softly, melodiously and yet with so much energy and grace.

I was absolutely charmed by the manner in which the songs are meticulously interwoven into a rich tapestry of ragas.

Alaap Desai's Krishna invocation as opening piece sets the serene mood.Anup Jalota's traditional Govind Jai Jai and Shriman Narayan still so captivating in his rich voice.The ever popular Achutam Keshavam sung by Anupji has the energy of the dancing gopis.

Hariharan's traditional Raghupati Raghav sounds so refreshing with the inclusion of the lilting dhuns.Devki Pandits Radhe Krishna really sparkles with the special interludes.

One of my personal favorites is Krishna Kunjbihari by Hariharan.The rendition is so uplifting and yet so serene. And the accompanying flute just adds that special Krishnas touch.

Another of my favorites is Bhagavate Vasudevaya by Ajoyji.Based on Durbari , this piece is

so soulful and full of pathos. A real gem for meditation.The flute again lends to the soulful

feeling.

Kaushiki's Radha Madhav is refreshing, energetic and exhilarating . A beautiful rendition.

Ajoyji's Radhe Radhe in a fast tempo is so heart wrenching.

Hariharan's Keshav Madhav , a popular dhun with all the nuances and variations is really a divine piece, bringing the entire CD to a very divine and blissful ending.

The music on this CD is divine,serene ,enchanting ,meditative and full of grace. A definite

yoga mat companion.

I have been shopping at my favourite shop Sona Rupa for many many years. I have loved shopping for not just for saris and suits but also for my CDs especially the bhakti/bhajans, classical and semi- classical music.
