had a great weekend stay Friday to Monday at southview check in took minutes the accommodation was excellent

was a bit of a walk to restaurant and entertainment but that helped walk off the superb food we were served at the boat house.all troupers were really good and we even enjoyed the kids entertainment though it may take a while to get sparkies song outta my head.was our first trip to a holiday camp without our now grown-up kids but will be back hopefully with the grandkids very soon.

User

We stayed for a week at Southview Holiday Park. The accommodation was beautiful and extremely comfortable. The park itself was very peaceful although our lodge was a little out of the way. The food at the boat house restuarant was top class and could not fault it. The staff were polite and friendly and seemed to work very hard. The park troupers were brilliant especially Claudia who was always full of energy no matter the time of day. It would have been nice if the outdoor bar had been open on occasion but all week it remained closed. The entertainment was good and especially enjoyed Paul Zerdin. We would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend this park.

User

We have just got back home after staying for a long weekend, we stayed in a private caravan on the site which was beautiful ..

the site is very well maintained, has security, had no problems with noise or disturbance.. love the water features with the ducks and geese and also the play areas for the kids.. plenty of entertainment in the show bar and arcade area

Have been to a few caravan sites but this has to be the best so far.. loved every minute of it xxx

User

Still here and loving it.

Checked in within 5 mins reception very helpfull.

Caravan was spotless and in a location near the fishing pond just what we wanted due to limited mobility no outdoor seating area tho to enjoy the sun.

Dissapointed in having to pay for fishing seperate even tho pond belongs to site.

Boathouse staff quick and polite prices expensive.

Bus comes into camp for skegness so spent time there eating as less expensive.

On site chippy good! best chips ive had in ages.

The guy very friendly and happy in his work.

Nisa onsite shop extortionate £1.75 for bread loaf.Get your supplies in heron skegness save a lot of money.

Really enjoying our week so far and had carp after carp fishing on top. Will return again most definatly.

User

Just returned home from a nice break at southview. The caravan was spot on. Lovely and clean and plenty of room for the 4 adults and 2 children in our party. We discovered there wasnt enough forks in the kitchen but within 5 mins one of the park 'rangers' had delivered some more. The park was clean, easy to get around and plenty to do. The children loved the pool and even managed to drag me on the water slide. We ate at the boathouse which was enjoyable with fast service. On 2 occasions we attempted a night out at the showbar. Unfortunately there wasnt any tables available and the queue for the bar was ridiculously long. So we used evening entertainment off site. If the show bar is something you want to use I suggest getting there quite early in the evening. Checking in was quick an easy and the staff were really friendly and knowledgeable. We would definitely return.

User

Just back home after a lovely 4 nights holiday at your park ,We must say all the other parks we have been to your park is best one we have been to and we have booked up for next year again before we left thanks again all staff we’re brilliant

User

We stayed in the dainton lodge and it was massive (sleeps 8). It was a gorgeous lodge. No point having tellys in every bedroom though as the only one that worked was in the living room. This only bothered the mother when she couldn't get her fix of csi.

Lovely site, play areas nice and site not to big.

Swimming pool was great. Does get busy so be prepared to wait if it's full.

Wouldn't recommend the food place on site though. Food was awful and service was slow. Food was sitting on the side for ages before someone took it to the customer. Wasn't that busy either but staff were just standing around talking while one poor lad (with a cap on) worked his arse off running around.

Clubhouse is small and could do with a bit of tlc. Roof was leaking were we were sat because it was raining, so the seats we're wet.

I was surprised at the amount of absolute shocking caravans on there though. I'd never book a normal once incase it was one of them, so I'd stick with a lodge. They reminded me of caravans I stayed in as a kid. Proper retro and look like the they belong to the dingles.

User

We have just arrived back home from a nice week away. The only part what let us down was....

The heating in caravan was not working so at night/1st thing in the morning the caravan was very very cold. We had to use the gas fire at night and morning so my children and us could get warm.

1 more let down was towards end of week the arcades machines were not filled up with prizes so my children got bored very quickly.

But the staff and maintenance team was very nice and friendly. We shall be back in the future

Thank you!!!! X

User

Stayed here last week with my 3 year old son and partner. The caravan was lovely no faults clean and next to a little park. The only thing was getting to the complex took us 20 mins with our 3 year old but not a real issue. The troupers were wonderfull little boy loved dancing and playing the games. The toilets in the complex in the ladies any way was poor one with no seat floor always soaking and toilets felt like they was going to fall off the wall. But all in all good holiday.

User

Southview is a lovely site, with many scenic views. The addition of the numerous lakes, fountains and two waterfalls makes this site an absolute pleasure to walk around. It's lovely being able to get beautiful holiday snaps by these water features and the hotel would make for an ideal wedding ceremony or other event! The site is very large and its great to explore, especially if on a dog walk. The site offers good facilities such as the restaurant, shop, entertainment/arcades and swimming pool, however some of these are a little disappointing. We visited the restaurant on the first night, after previously having a nice meal in there the last time we were on holiday, however it was a complete let down unfortunately. There were two ques forming and it was not clear which one was for just drinks, and which was for food. It was only by luck that we found out from another guest, if not we would have been in the wrong que! Staff need to be more directive and put signs up. The food itself was not great, I had a chicken melt and it was not the greatest quality, the chicken seemed quite poor quality and one of the bacon slices was very overdone, where as the other one quite chewy and not cooked much. My meal was quite cold, and so was my mum and dads. They were definitely not worth the £10 each. We did not visit the entertainement as did not have passes, but from previous memory I think the entertainment is quite child based through most of the night which can be a disappointing for adults. However, I am not sure if this is still the case, but I had in mind most park resorts/parkdean sites were like this. Some of the security staff can be quite abrupt also, for example we were staying in a private caravan and upon entering it set off an alarm that we could not hear ( but it alerted security) as we were not instructed to enter a code to turn it off upon entering, and security came to our caravan 5-10 minutes later and were quite rude with insinuating it was our fault, even though we were not aware of the process. Our caravan was luckily enough to be situated in the middle between the shop/restaurant/pool and the entertainment complex/reception/chippy the other side, however I think for people that are located right at the back of the park it maybe a good idea to introduce bikes for people to use to get from one end of the park to the other as it quite spacious and could be quite far to walk, especially for children and the elderly. All in all however this site is very appealing and we would definitely use it again, however we will be avoiding the boathouse restaurant.

User

My family and I have been to many park resorts holiday parks for the last 12 years but this was only our second to a parkdean resorts. Southview is set in beautiful surroundings and the vans are lovely and easily accessible. We had meals in the boathouse which were very nice and reasonably priced. The pool could do with being extended/updated as it was very basic with only one flume and part of the pool was closed off every time we went. The queues at the bar were not unreasonable as we had heard and the staff were friendly. We did feel that the security men were not doing their job properly as there were a couple of instances with people being disruptive that they seemed to ignore, surely they should be looking out for the holiday makers as well as their own staff. There was also a few issues with the toilets not flushing properly, there being water all over the floors in both the men's and women's toilet and generally being dirty which we reported a few times but nothing was done.

The troupers were all lovely as we have always found, although there were times when we found ourselves a little bored due to a couple of troupers not really knowing how to involve the audience. I feel a few training sessions would benefit them as we have never experienced this before. However, There was one particular trouper, Tom Pound, who for us (and other people we had spoken to) excelled in every aspect of his job, he was very friendly and funny, energetic in the children's party dances, he knew exactly how to interact with the audience both adults and children and was the most AMAZING singer we have ever seen in a Park resorts/Parkdean resorts venue. The one thing we could not understand was why there were visiting artists who frankly were not very good when their own trouper can sing aswell as he does. After seeing many teamstars/troupers Southview are privelidged to have someone so amazing. I was disappointed that they no longer did 'nominate a teamstar/trouper' because he would definitely have been nominated more than once. We would definitely consider returning if the issues with the toilets were sorted out.

Overall we had a really good week and loved the fact the park was a short drive from Skegness itself.

User

Just got back from a brilliant holiday, couldn't fault the staff as they were always very helpful. Arrived before check in and the staff were pleasant and polite, Whenever we needed help they were on hand an fixed any issues that occurred. Water went one day but that was fixed promptly. The boathouse delivered excellent service and the food arrived quickly, The swimming pool and facilities were top notch. The Show bar was also a great place to go

The only things that stopped getting 5 stars was the fact that the van was so far away from anything it was a trek to get anywhere I think people should be asked if they have a car and accommodate accordingly (my wife has mobility problems) and the fact that the chip shop was closed for most of the week. Granted you can get takeout from the boathouse but only Fish and chips and at boathouse prices I assume this is only at this time of year

But all in all a good time was had was not expecting the quality of caravan we had as it was a sun holiday... Fab time had by all

User

Had a lovely four nights stay. Caravan was to a good standard and well kitted out. Only issue we had was the travel cot . Only room it would fit in is in the door way too the main bedroom. So myself and my husband had to sleep in the small twin beds !!

Site is well maintained. My only big issue was the gate to the playground area was always left open by the smokers, and you had to walk though the smokers area to get it the playground area. There needs an extra gate placing closer to the playground area .

User

The park is clean and the staff really friendly. My issues concern lack of staff in the Bar. 20 minutes wait on arrival to buy a cold drink. Went to watch the Entertainment and the queue for the bar was 30 long and hardly moved. As with all holiday park entertainment the sound system was poor.

Paid for an upgrade a few days before I left home as the weather is so hot so chose to have a caravan with a veranda, fridge freezer and a DVD player....... got none of these. Complained at reception but didn’t get anywhere, was told I had a 2017 caravan with freeview TV and a fridge freezer. No, it’s a fridge with an ice box, not a fridge freezer in my eyes Had to have them come and look at it too because the fridge is not very cold either. The maintenance man also confirmed that this was not a fridge freezer.

User

Caravan park is lovely & well kept. There is a regular bus service running from the camp right into Skegness which is great. The entertainment was great especially for the kids but if you aren’t down the club by 5.30-6pm at the latest then you will struggle to get a table. The club is not big enough for the size of the camp. The good from the chop shop outside of the arcade was disgusting & I was charged twice for chips which were barely cooked. The burger bar in the club is a lot nicer food. The swimming pool is nice but I would strongly suggest u get your swimming costume on before u leave to go swimming as u will struggle to get a changing room. The swimming pool & changing rooms are far to small for the size of the camp.

User

But has a lot of room for improvements, needs outdoor splash parks and small water slides this is one of parkdean Resorts bigger parks but it facilities are don't match the 4 stars on the entrance wall, the caravan were in has a poorly hung curtain rail, and hand missing of a bedroom window

User

Its a good holiday site if you don't have toddler's, they have a great park outside which for some strange reason is the same place they have located the smoking hut. At night when the entertainments on they come out of the bar area for a smoke and leave the gates open, toddler's see an open gate and run for it. Even the arcade staff and the door staff go for a smoke and leave the gate open. Poor show really

User

This is a message i have just sent to park dean, lets see what kind of response they give. Lets see if they disapprove of how their parks are really run or try to fob us off like their managers do!!

I want to make a massive complaint with how your Southview resort is being managed and run, and how our caravan which is IPP is being treated. My wife and I are owners who have just upgraded to a brand new 2017 Atlas Everglade. Because Southview paid £7000 towards our upgrade we had to agree to them let it out for the first year. However, the way our caravan is being treated is disgusting to say the least. The first two weeks that they had it there were boot scuff marks all over the walls, poo left on the toilet floor, a skirting end cap had been knocked off and lost, 2 stool end caps had been knocked off and lost, two curtains had some of their clips pulled off and nothing had been cleaned properly by their supposed cleaning crew. When we went into the office to complaint about how our caravan had been treated in the first two weeks that they had let it, we were basically fobbed off with “there’s nothing we can do its just general wear and tear”. Well excuse me this is a god damned brand new caravan, this is not wear and tear. Now, this weekend my wife has going down to the caravan with our son and she has called me telling me that the park are now letting people smoke like chimneys in our caravan after we stipulated that under no circumstances did we want any pets or smoking in our caravan. Whoever was in there last has been smoking heavily and has been using our crockery as ashtrays. My wife knows this because they didn’t even wash the dish out properly. I am getting sick of this and I want something done about it because this is getting to beyond a joke. They have got our caravan for another 4 months and if this is how our caravan is being allowed to be treated then god only knows what it will look like at the end of the year. At the end of the day are Park dean resorts going to pay for a full valet of our caravan and repair all the damage that is bound to be caused? I don’t think so because they expect the owners to pay for it with their own insurance!!! Well this is not going to happen because this is happening while it is in their hands so they are responsible for anything that happens to it and I will make sure they are held accountable even if I have to take them to court. We want this sorting and we don’t want to be fobbed off with some rubbishy excuse. If its not sorted then we will find another way for paying off what we owe and remove our caravan from the site permanently.

User

Second day into a very expensive weekend and the water supply is off. No running water for drinking , washing or the using the toilet. Was given 2 bottles of water on Sunday to last until the water supply is back on... arrived Friday ! Sunday evening and still no luck on the water front.

Second day into a very expensive weekend and the water supply is off. No running water for drinking , washing or the using the toilet. Was given 2 bottles of water on Sunday to last until the water supply is back on... arrived Friday ! Sunday evening and still no luck on the water front.

User

had a great weekend stay Friday to Monday at southview check in took minutes the accommodation was excellent

was a bit of a walk to restaurant and entertainment but that helped walk off the superb food we were served at the boat house.all troupers were really good and we even enjoyed the kids entertainment though it may take a while to get sparkies song outta my head.was our first trip to a holiday camp without our now grown-up kids but will be back hopefully with the grandkids very soon.

Site is well maintained. My only big issue was the gate to the playground area was always left open by the smokers, and you had to walk though the smokers area to get it the playground area. There needs an extra gate placing closer to the playground area .

But has a lot of room for improvements, needs outdoor splash parks and small water slides this is one of parkdean Resorts bigger parks but it facilities are don't match the 4 stars on the entrance wall, the caravan were in has a poorly hung curtain rail, and hand missing of a bedroom window

Second day into a very expensive weekend and the water supply is off. No running water for drinking , washing or the using the toilet. Was given 2 bottles of water on Sunday to last until the water supply is back on... arrived Friday ! Sunday evening and still no luck on the water front.
