Went to a local garden centre this morning and asked for help and was told that they couldn‚Äôt give me any ÔŅĹ Had wanted to give my money to a smaller business rather than a ‚Äėchain‚Äô but apparently they didn‚Äôt want it! Went to squires where everything was clearly set out, I could find exactly what I wanted without asking. However when I did ask for advice the lady couldn‚Äôt have been more friendly, welcoming or helpful. The plants looked better cared for too - even in this heat. Wish I‚Äôd gone there first! Might have been a few pounds more expensive but well worth it

Lovely place to have breakfast ÔŅĹand what a place

User

Brilliant. Well stocked and plenty of variety. The cafe was clean and the food fresh and well presented. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will definitely be back.

User

Amazing morning at Shepperton seeing the Christmas Circus. The general manager Martin was an absolute star and helped me avoid my daughter having a melt down. The show and its cast are brilliant and we will definitely be back again. Lovely place with a great feel to it could spend hours here.

User

Absolutely love the Garden Centre at Windsor. Such a lovely friendly team there and the café is absolutely fantastic! Was full to the brim over Christmas, used by so many I couldn't get a seat there one day - and there are a few!

Brilliant shop, and has become a hub for the local community. Love it!

User

The cafe is much improved with only one counter it is far less confusing and the staff not so stretched. The seating far better but lost a star as we only saw ONE round table that could sea more than four, enough tables seating more but in straight lines so our BIRTHDAY GROUP had to try and talk from one end to the other. No play area in the cafe which made a grate improvement. We will start going back again.

User

My wife & I had a breakfast bap plus a 2 coffees for £7 with their. Money off voucher. Good value in nice surroundings.

User

Purchased some fish from your garden centre. Although all healthy and doing fine a week on, I was disapointed to get home and find that of the 6 purchased 4 were male. This was after discussing with your staff about having a male already and not wanting more than 2 more at most. Subsequently my original male has died, possibly due to bullying from the larger males purchased from you. I am also now left with too many males, so will have to purchase more females or pass on some of the males due to fighting and stress to the females.

User

I'm sorry but really not impressed with the new restaurant at Shepperton. The menus on the blackboards are small and not much choice. I don't really want to then wait 30 minutes to receive my panini... if I wanted a restaurant experience I would goto one. Garden centre cafes are for a quick cuppa and a snack... not a half hour wait for the food to come out. It was all a bit too fancy and a bit too pricey. You should cater for the other end of the market too. I saw at least 3 lots of people walk in and then leave as not impressed with the food choice. Some people just want ordinary food, not all this overpriced, fancily titled gastro stuff. The place has been done out nicely, but it was perfectly fine before. Why change It?

User

Garden centre is lovely however came today for the children to use soft play and it door play area to find it's all been removed and now a small

Soft play area has been put in a corner. Very disappointed. We were looking forward to lunch and the children to play however you can't even order food in the soft play. It's like you suddenly don't want children there and have tucked them away in the corner.

User

Was really disappointed I loved the old restaurant and we tried the new one yesterday small choice of food and food wasn't nice and had to send back one of the orders twice as it was wrong and wasn't even busy for them to get it wrong

User

This review is for the restaurant in the hersham centre. I have never been involved in such a ridiculous fiasco when ordering food before. As the waiter handed out our meals & it soon became evident he'd forgotten mine. I went to the counter to mention it & he apologised saying he didn't think it was wanted as it was amended (the amendment was I didn't want the avocardo in my brie & tomato panini). He managed to bring it over within 5 mins, I then opened it up to sprinkle some pepper in only to discover what I had was brie, chicken & chopped up mixed peppers. I explained this wasn't what Id ordered & he said did I just want to have it anyway. I said no I wanted what I had ordered. So off he went, 45 minutes later & after several trips to find out what the hell was going on my food finally arrives. It was the most pathetic toasted panini I had ever had. It hadn't been in the toaster long enough so the under ripe brie was in no way melted & the ridiculously huge slices of tomato (6 in total) had made the inside of the bread really soggy. By this point I daren't send it back as the rest of my party had finished & my 3 year old was getting bored.

Definitely won't be eating there again!!

User

The restaurant, today I must say fair, had a bacon and tomato sandwich, bread felt stale, bacon was cold, extremely fatty, left most of it behind, latte double shot skimmed milk, can still be frothy on top was flat, was charged for twinings tea tasted like tetleys.

User

I ate there. Service was a bit slow and food is overpriced..staff are nice though and I love looking around the store afterwards even though the prices have also gone up. Saw an adorable toy dragon in children's section priced at ¬£74.99ūüėĪ

User

took my girls up to Chertsey this afternoon for a wabder round the shop and tea, only to find they were closing due to the..... World Cup Final. Really? Took my business to Hillier instead. Bad job Squires and I wasn't the only disgruntled customer being turned away.

User

Visited Squires at Milford today. Garden centre lovely, however the cafe left a lot to be desired. Waited 30 minutes for a jacket potato which after chasing them arrived cold. Took it back to the till point, and was completely ignored by the lady on the till, who carried on taking orders from other customers. Eventually after interrupting her the meal was replaced with no apologies from her or the person who bought out the replacement. Customer service skills are zero. Will not be eating there again.

User

Took my daughters to soft play at shepperton, bought them two drinks whilst in there. We then left the soft play and on walking to the exit a member of staff stopped us and demanded to see a receipt for the drinks we had bought in there, saying it was their policy to check we had not stolen them! Of course I could show a receipt but I have never been so humiliated and embarrassed and in front of my girls that are old enough to understand. Even after showing the receipt we never received an apology from the staff member.

User

Thought I'd stop for lunch in Hersham squires today... bad move! Every time I've been in there over last 2 years it just gets worse! Really rude staff! My soup was full of soggy croutons, not even put on the side so you have an option. I ate my soup and decided to get myself the SMALLEST slice of cake in the world! I'd made sure before I left my seat it looked like I would return to my pot of tea, arranged nicely and coat left obviously. I had to duck out the queue as my stuff was being cleared awayÔŅĹ. The man clearing didn't even apologise and just huffed, abruptly stating he was going to touch it even though he'd already take my tea cup (bad customer service!). Some of the cakes they had looked shocking, completely dried strawberries on the champagne and strawberry mouse cakeÔŅĹ, do they just sit there until they're sold??! Terrible

User

Re centre at Washington West Sussex..Advertising hoarding by main A24 reads 'evergreen azaleas half price'..another big sign with same message inside centre.Asked staff 'where are the half price azaleas..'dont know I'll ask'..calls to another staff member 'they are there and more behind the hut' is the reply.3 tatty unsaleable ones on a bench but about 15 good but small ones 'behind the hut'as I discovered. At the tiil I find they are not half price 'only with a coupon' 'not those particular ones' 'the offer ended yesterday' all excuses for avoiding the half price offer, surely they didn't invest in the large colour posters to sell 3 poor azaleas..even 15 seemsa bit extreme..unless of course the ad is just to entice customers in on a false promise. Other problems with labelling and till inaccuracy all combined to make this a garden centre one I would not use again..so sorry..such a proud history too.
