INTERCESSIONS EPITHANY SUNDAY 6TH JANUARY 2019
In Union with Christ and the Holy Spirit, let us pray to the Father.
Father, with the Anglican Communion, we pray for the worldwide mission of your Church and for the joy of the birth of the Christ child, that this joy may encompass all the people of the Earth, and that we may be reborn in him. LORD IN YOUR MERCY. HEAR OUR PRAYER
... We pray that more people will come to Christ, for those considering and preparing for baptism, for those who do not yet know Christ. We pray for those who, like the Magi, are now on a journey of faith. LORD… We pray for our brothers and sisters in the Anglican Church of Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia; Archbishops Philip Richardson, Dan Tamiheare and Fereimi Cama LORD…
Father, we pray for those across the World, the seas, and here in the United Kingdom, Leicestershire and Old Dalby who suffer from famine, lack of water, natural disaster, who are homeless living in the open and the streets, refugees and those who have no money or the basic necessities of life. We call to mind the violence in Brazil, Syria , Egypt and across the world. Open our hearts, minds and lift our eyes to you. LORD…
Father, we pray for your wisdom and glory in our lives; in our thoughts, actions, words and in the way we treat our neighbours. Grant us to be peaceful, giving, kind and understanding, always putting the needs of others first. LORD…
We pray for all who suffer in body, mind and spirit for their swift return to good health. We pray for their families, friends and those who support them. We call to mind [those known to us]…..LORD
Merciful Father, accept these prayers for the sake of your Son, our Saviour, Jesus Christ. Amen.
