The choices for you all this fine Wednesday. And a couple of Ashover Ciders on the sticks too!

User

New beer on the bar today. Who's ready for a pink pint this Tuesday evening?

User

Beers to start your week off. A first visit to Stanley's for the very good Brass Castle brewery, all the way from Malton, and some old favourites.

And don't forget it's cheese night tonight 🍺🍷🧀And don't forget it's cheese night tonight 🍺🍷🧀

Thursday evenings beer board for you all. Hillbilly Rye seems to be a very aptly named beer for us!

User

Mich is back on the bar tonight, Friday night too with Helen and then again on Sunday. Time for a Stanley's re-union party I recon. Also making a return on Sunday afternoon is the amazingly talented Phil Ashmore - Singer songwriter and guitarist with great high tenor voice. Think Ryan Adams, John Mayer and of course Phil Ashmore. All good reasons to call in for a pint (not that I'll need a reason of course).🍻🎶

User

Well Mich seems to have things well under control (and seems happy about it too!)

Well this week we really are going back in time. Not only have we got Helen on the bar, but........ Mich...........is back pulling the pints on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday this week. (We all hope this will become a regular slot over the forthcoming weeks.) We’re turning back the clock on the beer prices too with some ales at £2.90 a pint! 🍻 Stanley’s has gone back to being open on Monday and Tuesday evenings too for that early week tipple! So to all our customers and friends... old and new, call in and say hello to Mich and Helen they will be dead chuffed to see you all...... Rumour also has it that Mick will be calling in for the odd pint or two as well. It’s a shame we couldn’t get him to bring some of that wonderful Bumpmill beer with him but I recon he’s supped it all. Girls, I do hope you don’t mind me digging out the old photo.......I thought it kind of suited the occasion 😂💕can’t wait to take an up to date one 📸

User

Sunday's beers and ciders.

User

Don't forget it's cheese night tonight, a few nibbles to acompany this Thursday's beer selection. Come along and say hi to Brad and sample his wares.......

User

Get your glad rags on and come and have a taste of our Disco Balls. They're (sorry it's) gluten free too.....

User

Somebody must have told Mr. Dragonfly that we have just put Blue Bee's Mango Milkshake on the pumps cos he's popped in to say hello! He left unhappy tho cos unfortunately for him he'd forgotten his ID 😢

User

Guess who's back...........

User

New beer on the bar today, perfect for this sunny Saturday afternoon.

Thank you to everyone who came down to see Saskia searle yesterday afternoon - a great young talent and a great Bank Holiday vibe! 🎸🎙️😀 Next up, we're proud to be involved with Smedley Street's annual 'Vintage Summer Social', this Friday from early evening until late. Free vintage snacks all night, the usual great range of drinkies, and we even have a late licence! 🍻🧀🍾 It's also a bittersweet celebration as it will be Pete and Emily's last night before they move on to pasture...s new. So tag a friend, grab a 'trail card', and we look forward to seeing you there! 🥂🍷🥤 - - #matlock #matlockbank #derbyshire #shoplocal #micropub #realale #caskale #realcider #supportyourlocal #shopindependent Matlock and Dales Camra Chesterfield CAMRA - The Campaign for Real Ale

Wonderful venue

User

Visited here earlier today, had a lovely chat and a warm welcome with the relatively new managers and theyre doing a great job. Delicious pies, great ales (good variety of beers all in top condition). Well worth the trip up the hill. Hope to visit again soon as this is a great pub with a stunning view. Wish them all the best!

User

Superb place and 1 minutes walk from my place. Proper beer and good prices. Can't wait to get to know the place better.

User

Superb little place. Good atmospheres and great choice of changing beers. Mick and Mish and all bar staff are very welcoming. If I could award 6 stars I would. Great find. :-)

User

Played a gig there last night. Pete and Emily looked after me perfectly and they know how to keep and serve beautiful real ale!

User

Our first visit despite passing regularly. Very friendly ‘real’ pub type bar with a selection to suit everyone. You don’t feel like you’re second to diners so it’s just a nice relaxing place for a couple of pints. To cap it all they had Titanic Mild on draft. Prices pretty good as well. We’ll be back.

User

Lovely micro pub situated in Matlock, cracking ales and friendly service.

Definitely worth a trot up the hill to find it!!!

User

Let these people introduce you to the wonders of chocolate sout. It's cake in a glass! Really nice people who allowed us to take 2 pints over to the registry office for our bride and bride to sample. The cost... A simple return of the emptys! Many thanks guys, the ladies loved their wedding sout! We all highly recommend you to anyone and everyone!

User

Great real ale venue, plenty of choice and kept well

User

Friendly, eclectic and well kept boozer. I’d recommend a visit!

User

Friendly staff and great beer. Not a traditional pub, but has a small, cosy bar. Well worth a vist and you'll get fit walking up from Matlock town centre :-)

User

Fantastic place! Called in with the wife as we'd heard it had a great atmosphere and wasn't disappointed. Was welcomed by the bar staff, great selection of beer, was also offered to sample their free cheese board that had just been put out

We'll definitely go back

User

Fantastic place that we’re so lucky to have on our doorstep, thanks guys!

User

Fantastic friendly pub with a great selection of well kept real ales. Staff and locals very friendly - treated like we have been going here for years - hill is a climb but worth it! Xx

User

Excellent vir'gin' and tonic for a woman that drives a man to drink.(Also drives him home again after said drink!) Good selection of real ales and ciders in a convivial atmosphere, well hosted by Steve and Catch. Pity it can not be transferred a little nearer to home so I can sample the big selection of real gins!!

User

Definitely the best bar in Matlock. Love the decor, staff were beyond friendly and cider was worth the hike up the hill. Wish we had this in Leicester....

User

Cracking little bar away from holiday crowds. Good range of hand pulls and wine

It's a good pull up that hill though but I'll cycle next time

User

A small little space with a great offering .. Loved the pews in the window and had a fantastic pint of honey cider .. Awesome

User

Great pub and deserving of its local Pub of the Year award. Definitely worth seeking out. Docked a star during my visit as, although there were a good number of interesting beers on, there was not so much variety in the beer styles offered. This will probably change on each and every visit though!
