It was my sons 10th birthday, and the restuarant had no candles for his cake. So Joey out of his own money gave us two 50p's for my Son to have some desert toppings as a happy birthday present. The small guestures in life mean a lot! Well done Joey, I hope your manager recognises you for the star that you are!

We came boxing day for my mum's birthday a large group of us we had a great meal the staff were great especially the waitress sue what a lovely lady so hard working really looked after us so thank you .

Visited this evening for my birthday and wanted to give a 5* not to the pub or for the food but to the waitress sue, she was absolutely amazing tonight and definitely deserves the recognition. When we arrived it was set up ready for a few Xmas party's we ordered our drinks and got our meals before people started to arrive for the Xmas meals but once they started to arrive it turned into chaos nobody knew we're anybody was sitting but sue swiftly got everybody seated promptly and got starters on the tables,aswell as this she was constantly checking on all the other customers. Sue was totally run off her feet but was happy and jolly throughout our desserts came out wrong twice and she was totally appoligetic and couldn't do enough to put this right for us. You have one fantastic lady working for you and I hope she gets the recognition she deserves well done sue!

Needed a nice dinner.. bit of a greedy git myself ... And have to say I was well pleased its was all good and couldnвҖҷt fit another roast patato in ....or pudding .. I blame the staff for making me eat so much it was very very nice they said go back if ya want more so I did ...couldnвҖҷt say how good the puddings was ...alas never had one пҝҪ

My partner and I have been here for a carvery today and had the beef x I have to say it was the best carvery we have ever had x the beef was absolutely beautiful cooked to perfection just melted in your mouth x definitely be visiting again x thank you x

IвҖҷd like to give these 5 stars to your wonderful staff member Sue, this evening she was challenged a fair bit by various customers and problems (none of which were her doing) and she dealt with everything quickly and was so polite, friendly and helpful when doing so. She was running around trying to keep everyone happy and make sure everyone had what they needed, sheвҖҷs a bloomin super star and it wa a clear to see how hard she was working. Well done Sue x

First visit and we really enjoyed it . I had the chickpea burger and it was delish .Staff very helpful and friendly atmosphere .

Disgusting food all the vegetables tasted the same meat underdone it was as if you were in a play group will not return

The food and staff was amazing but unfortunately when we got there I sat my 2 year down on a chair as you do and as I sat him on the chair he said ouch and pulled a nail out from under him. I took the nail off him and went to the bar and the waitress was apologetic and did take the chair away. However it did spoil our evening abit as he was upset as he did have a scratch on the top of his leg. I felt like it should have been dealt with a senior member of staff not a young bar maid xXx

Went for a carvery meal the food was at the most lukewarm. The pub felt cold and when I went to the toilets it felt like I had walked into an abbatoir refrigerator! !!!!

Was never as bad as this when it was Crown Carvery.

We visited on Sunday 8th July and was disgusted we first spent time finding a table due to table's being reserved yet while we was there nobody came to use the said table's ? Then the lady cleaning and setting the table's was muttering and slaming chairs about then we went for our carvery the choice of meat was Turkey Turkey or Turkey? When I asked why only one meat I was told it would be a hour before any meat was ready I was not informed about this when I purchased my 3 carvery tickets ? Then went to get a drink from the bar said bar man started to poor my drink he was then distracted by a customer who was complaining about a some plastic in her pudding 10 mins later I got my drink don't think I will be back

Since the refurb.. It might look nice.. But service has gone down hill. It takes ages to actually get a drink from the bar! Not only that, me and my family came for a carvery.. That was fine, until my partner went up for his carvery and was told the turkey wouldn't be ready until 6! This being 5:15 at the time and we were all Sat down already eating our dinner. He had to make due with sausage. This was our third visit since the refurb and I am not impressed with either visit. I think you need to hire someone who can actually mash potatoe too.

A few friends and I went today for some food. As it was a Sunday we called first and were told it wasn't busy. They were right, it wasn't busy, but it still took around two hours to be served and to finally eat. The queue for the till to pay for the carvery was horrendous with one till for both food and drink. God help those who just wanted a pint!! My girlfriend ordered pizza and the lady on the till had to come off the till to cook it! Carvery queue took around 30 mins as the person carving was struggling. The food was quite poor as it had sat for so long. No cauliflower cheese left so a further wait for that, followed by a further wait for gravy! I had to leave shortly after eating as it took so long but my friends told me that their dessert took just as long to arrive and their daughters food was molten hot despite it coming from the children's menu. Very dangerous. Overall a bad experience and will not return, especially not on a very quiet Sunday.

However, when you've stood for ten minutes waiting for things to be topped up and it's not happening, you have to make the best of what's there. Come on guys, the restaurant wasn't even busy and people were having to wait ages.
