Went today with a party of ten from our Thai Chi class. We had booked the Festive Menu. At £10.49 it was excellent value. Crackers on the table. Starters were very good. Plenty of meat from the carvery and vegetables were hot and just right. We were amazed at the large size of the puddings when they arrived and all were excellent. Many thanks to the staff who looked after us so well. We had a very enjoyable early Christmas celebration.

We went for the first time yesterday as the kids wanted 2 try the pizza and what can I say it was absolutely fab kids enjoyed it food was hot service was lovely the lady who looked after us she went above and beyond to help will defiantly b going back x

We came here for our Christmas Day dinner and we can’t stress how lovely all the staff were as was the food. You made our day perfect thank you all and well done. Merry Christmas and a very happy new year xxx

We booked Boxing Day this year at the Jug and Bottle for ten people and certainly wasn't disappointed. The service was fantastic, we weren't rushed, it wasn't too busy to spoil the enjoyment and I couldn't fault my meal in any way. We had a three course meal, I chose prawn cocktail for a starter, carvery for main and profiteroles for a dessert. Compliments to the chef and also to the waiter who couldn't have been more pleasant and was even dressed in the Christmas spirit. Would definitely recommend.

Visited this afternoon for the first time in a long while. We were welcomed at the door with a smile. Service was good and staff polite. My husband had a pizza and I had a carvery which we both enjoyed. The pizza arrived quickly and was hot, plenty of veg, salad etc to choose from and we even got a check back from the waiter , that doesn't always happen in other places. Good value for money, well done and thank you to all the staff . We will be visiting again very soon �

This is the second time I've eaten here for the Carvery, the first being over 10years ago! It is still the same high standard with everything very fresh and piping hot. Delighted to see the pizza option with salad bar, something to suit everyone. Staff very friendly and helpful too. Well worth coming all the way from Scotland for, keep up the good work guys!

Second time back in a month. Both times food has been amazing - would definitely recommend the pizzas.



I would like to do a special shout out to Sam who has been fantastic both times we have come. Friendly and sincere - couldn't do enough to make sure we were comfortable and we didn't see him stop once. Tables cleaned, looking after other customers... just fab!

Love the Jug & Bottle - we visit as regular as we can and as a family of 5 we think it's great! Fantastic food and service especially Becky who my children love going to see as she always goes out of her way to chat to them (we have been coming since our eldest was small, he's now nearly 16!)

Had a lovely time with our friends on Sunday. There was 19 of us and we were all made to feel welcome and not rushed. Kids loved the pizzas and I had a Carvery which was gorgeous. It was a lovely day too so the kids worked off their excess energy off outside in the little play area �

Fab pizza in a warm and friendly pub ... great for a family visit .... staff were really good and more than willing to assist. Pizzas didn't take long to come and were cooked to perfection. Well worth a visit .... we'll be back

Excellent we love it here and visit regular great staff very friendly and especially the young lady near the ice cream and comes round to ask if everything is ok. The meals are the best and great value keep it up you're the best x

Been today for Boxing Day meal very nice and excellent service.

After having a not so good meal, we informed the staff and they invited us back.

And I have to say, the meal 100% better, the staff went completely out of their way to make sure everything was okay for us. Definitely would recommend anyone thinking about coming to try!

Not sure if this place has changed hands recently but its a lot dofferent .the interior has been given a makeover and it isnt an improvement .carvery wxcellent although i was confused to how they price it .i went for the small as i only have a small appitite and the lady at the till said " are you sure 3 sluces of meat will be enough for you " i assured it it would .so wht then did my husband who went for medium whi was given a larger olate still only get 3 slices of meat ? Bizare .main course lovely .we had the sponge pudding and custard for afters which was inedible as was the ice cream that my hubby had bright yellow & tasted vile. They brought the wrong pudding to begin with some sort of toffee apple thing and it looked equally dreadfull .when the waitress asked if we had enjoyed our meals i told her the 1st course was superb but puddings dreadfull .she offered us anither but i would have prefered a refund .thwy obviousley just cant cook puddings here so dont waste good money in that direction .this place has been considtantly good for years cheap but good .disapointed yesterday i have to say

Came for a family tea as home from working away in Newcastle and thought would try the pizzas,my lad hada burger which he enjoyed our daughter had fishfinger bap which she enjoyed we got a hoisin duck pizza and great balls they was tasty but not enough meat on them which was disappointing

The breakfast was lukewarm and we had to wait quite a while for fried eggs,bacon swimming in fat toaster took to long to toast the bread. Asked for a glass of water with ice and lemon told that you don't do lemon slices any more only limes if I had ordered a bitter lemon I would like a lemon slice not lime. Waited too long to get served at the breakfast bar. So really did not enjoy the experience will think twice about visiting The Jug and bottle again

I do know all the pitfalls as I worked in the pub trade for 38 years you should try and give the customers or guests what they would like

felt i had to write this went for a birthday meal tonight ordered food and was given a buzzer approx 30 mins later food was ready went to pizza counter to collect and found staff at bar had only taken order for 1 burger instead of 2 which when i ordered asked if both were without bbq sauce not too difficult this order there were only 3 of us so my wife and son ate there meal while the garlic bread brie wedges and onion rings were going cold waiting for chef to cook my burger nothing wrong with food when i got it but the service is terrible and no apology dont think i will bother again

We have come here for years but visited today for breakfast and was disgusted with the level of service we received

They have stopped doing scrambled egg and we don't like runny eggs so we asked if they could do us 3 hard eggs anyone would have thought we asked for the world! We was told they don't do requests so I explained because they don't do scrambled egg that's the only option just to be told again we don't do requests we are not a cafe!

Needless to say we won't be coming again!

Come here for breakfast staff was too busy round corner on phones and having conversations when finally got served, bacon was disgusting wasn't even warm sausages was burnt to a crisp yet still cold found egg she'll in my eggs that I was about feed my one year old tried tell staff after 10 mins not seein one is sight all could say is will tell them be more careful when they fry them wouldn't go again or recommend to anyone for the breakfast
