We had a brilliant meal at The Rodney last weekend! The new menu is great. There’s a great atmosphere now in the new dining room and the service is fantastic- so friendly and lovely

User

Very good food, including beetroot mint slaw. Pub could do with some more real ales. Lovely Belgian white beer though.

User

Lovely friendly place

Lots of pubs on our trip and this one was one of the top . With a beautiful fire on a cold day after walking about it was very pleasing and the food was excellent as well .

User

Just been in to sample the new menu and left very satisfied. Waiting time was good, presentation clean and fresh, flavours excellent. More than happy with my first sample and looking forward to trying some more dishes.

Great pub. Quiz night is brilliant. Food during the day is very palletable at good prices. Atmosphere is fun and friendly and a great selection of beers. What more do you need?

Cracking bar meal tonight. A large table of us all served promptly and politely and to top it off the sirloin was tip top!! Well done

User

Brilliant! Great place with great people. Supported the Christmas bike run to Newark, supplying bacon butties along with tea and coffee for everyone that arrived. Well done on your amazing community spirit. Thank you x

User

Brilliant oldie worldy pub with a roaring fire, games room in the back, good friendly atmosphere. Occasional live music too.

User

A lovely traditional pub the food was tasty as well

User

A great place to hang out with family and friends. Excellent service from all the staff, food lovely and good portion size. A lovely seated area outside in the sunshine if you desire or a great ambience inside if the weather is a little drab. We love this place.

User

Good pub grub which is unbelieveable value for money.

I wanted to like the Rodney however we were the only ones in there and the food took 45 minutes!

And the food was just ok!

I won't be rushing back.

Lion at Farnsfield or Bromley at Fiskerton both alot better for the price.

With the previous landlord I’d have given this place 5 stars, no mistake. It’s plain to say that this is NOT my local anymore and it will never be the same again now that it has been taken over. Where it was previously a lively, friendly pub where the landlord knew everyone it is now dull and cheerless and run by someone who apparently only cares about making money and scolds customers simply for trying to be helpful. The jukebox, function room, weekly quiz, monthly karaoke and framed picture of friendly locals are all gone. Also rumours are floating around about the place being turned into a fully fledged restaurant, but I’m not sure how much of that is true. I would not recommend this pub to anybody as I just don’t recognise it anymore. All I can say now is good luck on getting a significant number customers in the near future. Your competitors will now be doing VERY well on a Friday night.
