Went here for a friend's special birthday. Loved the old fashioned glamour of the place. Staff couldn't do enough for us and the food was scrummy. Great to sit outside whatching the planes land and see the spitfire across the field ..To sum it up a great bit of history, a bit of old England , coupled with great service and good food at a reasonable price. We will be back!
Very individual hotel. My accommodation was roomy and spotlessly clean. Had a meal in the bistro - really good and very friendly staff
This was our 2nd visit to the Aviator. First time was just a beer at Pistons and Props, this time we booked in to stay as my Father-in-law in law did the Spitfire flight, and wow! what an experience from the wonderful Art Deco surroundings, the amazing well presented delicious food the staff were all very polite and helpful to the prestine ample sized rooms in the sleeping block. What a place. We all loved it 10/10.
This was an exceptional day out. Our son (40) had his birthday flight in a Tiger Moth. šš
This art deco local airport is just fabulous in all respects. Go visit.
The aviator has neen my favourite place to visot for a drink, good food and excellent views and I took a small risk bringing a very dear friend and her mum (who were on holiday from South Africa), here for a drink and chat and they loved it, as did I and my Husband.
Thank you
If there was a tenth star......
Wonderful service
Brilliant place set in the 1940s flying theme, Resturant/Bar/Hotel/ watch the flying
Absolutely beautiful surroundings, old & new aircraft to observe, amazing food, all locally sourced and professionally cooked to order, staff well presented with top notch customer service skills. I am in the catering and hospitality trade myself and would totally recommend to anyone and will most definitely return ļæ½
We've had several parties at this lovely venue, starting with our wedding reception 24 years ago. A very good set of public rooms for groups of differing sizes - you can rent a hangar I think - and just a step away is stylish affordable accomodation. We've brought groups here for lunch events too. Food is very good. Thoroughly recommended!
The service is very outstanding, I am enjoying my stay and WOW the food is very delicious.
Itās a really nice looking Art Deco building.
Enjoyed y visit here.
Will call in again when in the area.
Great setting right on the airfield, a āmust visitā place for aviation buffs.
Had a night away with the wife and a kids free night to celebrate our wedding anniversary.
Can't praise the staff enough, very helpful indeed (especially Bobby) to make our stay special.
I can't fault the room, loved the art deco and breakfast was delicious (had 3 helpings).
Rated 4/5 because the bed was slightly too hard.
Highly recommended. ļæ½ļæ½
Really lovely place, shame it is tainted by the WORSE bed I have ever tried to sleep in. No point complaining now as we are leaving in the morning. Don't think I will come back.
They turn away disabled people... I'd rather die of thirst than drink here ... they had 1.1* star rating from 440 reviews but the page got removed.
Not impressed with food quality. Wasn't able to change cajun spiced wedges for chips with sandwich, was told I would have to pay for an extra plate of chips at Ā£3.49 if I wanted these making my sandwich lunch over Ā£10 each! Not everyone likes/can eat spice. Changed my order to the "special" beef baguette with chips & gravy @ Ā£7.25 each. Small plate of baguette with overcooked hard beef & 10 greasy chips. Won't be visiting again. Will bring my own picnic thanks.ļæ½
My friend and his partner ordered food, his partners came late. Because it wasnāt on the tab. When it did come it was microwaved and the chips and veg were covered in salt. And they gave a āRefundā for something she didnāt eat. Now has to go home hungry and or go elsewhere. Poor very vey poor.
And we have a huge Xmas doo here this year. I think that will be changed.
I dont even want to give one star.
Terrible I won't return again despite being quite regular.. ordered food half the order was forgotten(pie) so they stuck in the microwave and it was out in less than 5 mins. Soggy covered in salt with all the veg and chips covered in salt.
Asked for no tomato/mayo on the burger and it still had both items in it.
Took microwaved pie away and didn't bring it back just said that they'd refund. Didn't offer other meal unless it was paid for
So we left with no meal... paid full price for the rest it manager wasn't interested. hungry partner
.
To top it off we had to argue to get my partner another meal as they thought that taking the food and the money off our bill was suitible. all it came out as a free desert that no one came and took our order for 20 mins. And then tried charging us for the desert.
Oh and the desert came with cold custard on a hot desert.. by this point I couldn't be bothered to complain. Shall not be returning again
Had to dodge flying building rubble everything covered in dust absolutely no apology to lots of customers attending a very big wedding in August that had been booked for almost 2 years. Builders started early both days on the wing and floor we stayed on. Appalling lack of customer care receptionist not interested. We won't be back ever.
