User

What a tart! Divine! Well worth a visit only.... do you have custard, cream or ice cream?

User

My Husband loves Bakewell Tarts, and as it was his birthday I decided to have a personalized one delivered. I contacted the shop and they were really helpful and efficient. The tart was sent out the next day, myself and my husband live in Amsterdam and I was amazed how fast it arrived and in perfect condition to say it had travelled overseas. The Bakewell tart was very tasty and is one of the nicest we’ve ever had, and thanks again for your organization - we will definitely use this service again.

User

I just wanted to leave a review to say I had the steak and Stilton pie, and it was I think the nicest pie I've ever eaten. Absolutely amazing. Thank you! üòÑ

User

Had a weekend away with my daughter at an event at Chatsworth House and couldn't resist giving Bakewell a visit so came to your lovely shop. Had an English cooked breakfast each and then purchased a family sized iced bakewell tart to take home. Breakfast was lovely and we enjoyed our tart with the rest of the family when we arrived home ÔøΩ

User

Cannot believe the 1* reviews I have read on here !!!!! We paid a visit 1st time last year, absolutely enjoyed our meal there. Yesterday visited for a 2nd time taking sister and brother in law with us. Wow were we delighted with our food this time around even more. Totally satisfied with everything from immediate attention ( we sat in the courtyard whereby you have to ring a bell) our drinks, main meal, our puddings and not least the service. Deffo deffo would returnÔøΩ

User

A regular return to our favourite tea shop in Bakewell. All day breakfasts do Sandwiches were fabulous and well worth the ride out from Stockport. Service was excellent and the food was tasty and lovely coffee and tea. We took home our usual Bakewell pudding and it was excellent. See you soon.

User

1st time visiting and wasn't disappointed. Beautiful Bakewell tart.

Many thanks

User

I had a steak pie chips and peas for lunch with onion gravy and it was really nice the meat was so tender, I took a large Bakewell tart home and I was really looking forward to a slice but I was so disappointed, I took one bite and couldn't eat anymore. The pastry was SO greasy and didn't really taste of anything, I'd go back for lunch but DEFINITELY NOT A BAKEWELL TART..

User

Hubby and I had a day out to Bakewell today so obviously had to have Bakewell tart. We decided to have the afternoon tea. At £19 for 2 this seemed like a good deal. We thoroughly enjoyed it but the scones were wonderful. We like to partake in afternoon tea and the nicest one we ever had was at the Ritz in London. We have never tasted scones as nice as theirs, until today!! So nice had to buy some to bring home. Thank you 5* scones.

User

Went in specifically to buy a traditional Bakewell tart. The service was fine, but I'm sorry to say that like many others on here I found the tart to be very fatty and the frangipane wasn't completely cooked. I put it in the microwave to cook it through a bit more which improved it but it was still fairly fatty. Probably wouldn't visit again based on this one cake which is a shame because the cakes in the counter looked very tempting.

User

We visited yesterday and I know it was a bank holiday and it was extra busy but we were left 15 minutes in the court yard without anyone taking our order, despite on two occasions when the waitress asked if the foodshe was carrying ours!. Eventually after asking twice to be served we did get our food and it was lovely but I did feel a little let down.

User

NO DOGS ALLOWED which was a shame on a cold snow day. But the Bakewell pudding was very tasty. It’s a shame that other food establishments manage to let dogs in and designate an area for them. Com’on owners we are a nation of animal lovers and most of us bring out pets on holiday. Not all Dogs are naughty and most owners responsible. Maybe next time I visit you will have changed your mind

User

Went today and bought 4 Bakewell tarts and 2 steak pasties £29!! And for that price I thought they would be amazing!

How wrong was I, there was no taste very bland no jam couldn't taste the almonds and it was very greasy, would not go there again!

And to think we drove from Manchester for a nice day and pick up the famous tarts plus she overcharged me £2!

User

Went to coffee shop today. Tables all crammed to close together. Couldn"t have sat on two of the four chairs. Went to order and initially ignored when I was then giving order girl turned round and had conversation with another staff member which I personally find very rude. Didn't get òur drinks of a simple black coffee and milk shake for at least 15 mins and kept waiting and waiting for order of Bakewell sundae and Bakewell pie until I got fed up and went as asked how long they would be which was at easily more than half an hour after ordering. Another table had a drink missed of their order and had to tell staff and the table next to us were served their bacon sandwiches and then almost immediately their puddings with ice cream as apparently the kitchen staff had made a mistake and prepared them too early so they were asked if they would mind having them on their table!! Puddings were good when we eventually got them but service was shocking.

User

We bought 2 Bakewell tarts today and they were disgusting. We took one bite and threw them in the bin! They had no taste and was just full of fat and the grease that came out of them was unbelievable. How can they be allowed to sell this is beyond me. Do not waste your money that was £3.50 which went literally in the bin!

User

My mum brought us a Bakewell tart from this shop on Tuesday. £4.50 and it was greasy and tasteless. It didn’t really taste of anything, not almond, could hardly see jam, couldn’t taste jam. Five of us have tried it and in the end threw it in the bin. Would not recommend.

User

I had carrot cake, which was very dry indeed and in places I couldn't even get my fork into the cake. Put me right off, couldn't eat it. My friend had Bakewell tart and custard, the custard was like water and the Bakewell tart was a bit dry, won't be visiting again

User

I brought a Bakewell tart from here and it was the worst Bakewell I have ever had. All you can taste is the fat and it was so greasy. One bit and the rest went into the bin.

Please everyone shop elsewhere it was descusting and such a rip off at an overinflated price.

User

I bought a Bakewell tart in Bakewell from the Bakewell tart shop. However, when you look at the ingredients on the back it is made by Jackson's in Chesterfield. It wasnt as good as the slice I had in Buxton. Tourist rip off instead of a local experience... very disappointing.
