We had the nicest food and friendliest staff... will definitely go back again soon. Just needs a real open fire and it would be perfect!

This isn't one of my locals but I ended up in here after getting caught in a pretty major cloudburst. Major enough that my shirt became completely transparent. The barmaid Frankie (after struggling not to laugh, I did look pretty funny) gave me my pint and empathised. When she'd stopped serving the other gents at the bar she came over with a t-shirt and asked if I'd like her to put my shirt somewhere to dry, bless her! Also a guy came from the kitchen to apologise they couldn't put it in there (hygiene) but suggested the boiler room. Excellent customer focus, really friendly and the venue's great too. I'll definitely be going back, highly recommended.

Delicious food, a lot of tasty beers to choose from and a very friendly and nice staff. What else do you need?

The Busker is a very good meeting place also it shows sport which is the only pub in the area. The wine Thursday is very good starting at 5 pm. Seating outside front and back. Staff are friendly. A very nice place to go.

Steak was perfect Burger was good drinks spot on just needs tables cleared faster

Nice homely pub, a bit dark inside when the sun is shining but has a small outside backyard area, and limited tables out the front.

Well priced and food good too.

Lovely place

Great pub, always lively but still always room to get a decent seat or stool, everywhere in central Hove is a bit pricey but this place isn't too bad as it's still a proper pub rather than a pretentious wine bar like a lot of local places have become. Decent friendly staff, fella on the door is polite, unlike a lot of town centre doormen, never seen any trouble at all here. One of our favourite pubs in town. 👏🏻

Foods OK.. But never seen such a small portion of Mash and veg with my pie

. For £11 it made me laugh.

Went in to watch the Europa league final. Clearly not busy but for some reason a bar person on the door doing one in one out. I politely asked what the capacity was and she thought it was 150. When my friend (who has been in pub game for 40 years) and I eventually got in we estimated the count at 80 at the most. She admitted she had seen more people in but still didn't let anyone in. Also if you went out for a cigarette they let someone else in and you had to join the queue, even if your friends were still inside. No door accreditation and critically no clicker so in reality she had not the first clue how many people were within. Apart from that I find the staff void of any enthusiasm for the job or sense of urgency when it gets busy. All in all a very poor performance.

User

Pub dingy but would have lived with that if food had been good

Fish and chips just about ok but wet batter. Burger very overdone and mimimal salad filling

Cheescake warm on ourside freezing in middle

User

Nice friendly staff food over priced and poor very small amount of food was £9 for scampie and chips around 8 scampie some cheap frozen peas and very cheap and poor quality frozen chips will not be eating there again . Witherspoons is far better and much cheaper
