We’ve been several times since the opening and introduced several people to the venue and ambience. It’s not for the faint hearted. It’s bold and brash a mixture of styles and histories too complex to understand. It’s Steam punk.

Enjoy the sheer colour and vibrancy of it all, relax and talk, take friends. The eating is good without being lavish. The range of foods and drinks is large. The service is good but not perfect. Mainly, be yourself. This is such a large space....fill it with good humour....at popular times book a table......

We had a big family meal for my sons 18th birthday..food was fantastic staff couldn do enough for us. Our waitress Georgina was great looked after us all night..was a tad warm in there but everyone had a fab evening

We don't go to Lincoln very often and stumbled on The Cosy Club during the lunchtime period. We went upstairs to see if we could get a table and were advised there would be a table 1330, only a 30 minutes to wait. We got a drink from the bar and took a seat to take in the surroundings. Such an unusual and interesting setting and plenty of time to read previous reviews. In our experience, we had a very enjoyable lunch. All the staff were friendly and engaging and the food was excellent. We would certainly go again. It is a little bit more expensive than other lunch time menus but it's the whole experience and setting which makes it just a little bit more interesting.

Stop reading reviews right now! Read the menu, book a table and go and have a splendid time! I have never had an issue with the cosy club and think the Lincoln branch is top notch! Great staff, great food and loads of fond memories.

Just went for dinner and cocktails with my sister for her birthday, loved it!! It great to have this fab place in Lincoln. The food was lush the cocktail where great and the staff was so friendly and we got free glass wine for her birthday. Thank you cosy club xx

Had brunch with my sister here last Thursday and it was gorgeous. Great service and props to the staff for that because they must stifling in there!

Went back with my partner for an evening meal on the Saturday and had some delicious tapas dishes. Nearly wept at how good the black pudding scotch egg tasted

Really nice to have a new restaurant in Lincoln live up to the hype! A big thanks to all the team for their fantastic service!

User

Great night , great food, waitress Martha couldn’t do enough for us . Got a special treat as it was our anniversary on the house which made it extra special!! Will definitely be back !

User

Positives...Gorgeous inside and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food came quite quickly considering it was lunch time and very busy. Not an issue having a pram and a high chair was waiting at the table for us as we sat down. Burgers the kids had looked lovely and overall the price was ok - restaurant, not pub prices.

Negatives...milkshakes were at least 50% froth, a sharing tapas platter, whilst nice, turned out to be a small pile of toast with a tiny camembert cheese, 2pickled onions, some fried bacon bits and a scotch egg. Didn't go far between 2 and wouldn't get this again.

Overall very good and its the service which got the extra star. Will certainly return here again.

My mum and I visited today for the first time , we were not able to book until we arrived in town but once we had we returned at our allotted time . Not sure why we had to do this As there were lots of empty tables ? Understaffed ? That aside we were greeted warmly and chatted about the weather with our waiter into Mum said it always rains on her birthday! Next thing I have a glass of complimentary Presecco!! We were attended to promptly and didn’t wait long for our food . It was absolutely delicious . We found the staff friendly and efficient , definitely going again great decor ,just don’t like their booking system!!

Having never managed to get a table in our local cosy club we were excited to give this one a go. Great drinks and the food was very good. The place was rather warm but lots of fans were out to keep diners cool and iced water was provided. Best meal we had in Lincoln. Would certainly come back.

User

Great food and venue, some of the staff look as happy as slapped slippers though. Could maybe at least try to look a little less miserable, it is customer service after all.

Other than that, it’s a fab place, but could do with the music turning down a tad, to a level that’s just background rather than disco !!!!!

User

The venue is nice, ( it used to be a roller skating venue, hence the nice big space!) most of our food was good and the one dish not up to expectation was sorted out. When you book you are told you can only have the table for two hours so it's a pity it takes nearly an hour for the food to arrive! Even though our table was empty some of our group were not allowed to sit there until more of us had arrived, and kept waiting while front of house chatting (for a while) to other customers. Think it's been a victim of its own success and will improve.

Second time we've been. The first time we were very impressed with the food and the service, despite it being extremely busy. Tonight the service was not great...Waiting to pay for drinks as the wine not on the til, a long time to wait for mains and corn flour not mixed into the curry! Also burnt chicken and small portions of fries for the children. Food was also slow to arrive, our children were quite hungry. We skipped pudding as it had taken so long. Won't be going back again

Went yesterday after shopping in town have previously been just for drinks It despite the size of the room and high ceilings it was extremely hot and airless despite the presence of numerous fan All turned full on we were told they couldn’t have air conditioning because the building was listed!!!

We ordered our drinks and food which came out in reasonable time the place wasn’t that full (maybe because of the heat)I ordered of the vegan menu because am nota great meat eater portion size was good for me my husband had spatchcock gammon (that’s a first) with a meagre portion of chips which looked a bit pallid and limp and peas well just peas really Our guests ordered the Sea bass plus a side of chipped sweet potato (mean portion for the price )2 people had puddings but not off the pudding menu (nothing they fancied)

So they had pancakes off the brunch menu Sticky tables did not enhance the experience

Overall ok ‘ visit again ?maybe in Autumn or Spring unless they get air con units installed

Would be more inclined to take visitors for a look and a drink but there are better places for food

Fantastic setting and very grand. A little pricey though. My main reason for the low feedback is that I requested to book a table in advance for brunch on a Saturday, only to be told by a member of Staff they don't allow bookings over certain time periods.

The reason for this policy is so you'll turn up and be told there is a 45 min wait for a table even if one is available and so they make extra cash at the bar during your wait. A very greedy approach instead of catering for a customer on a busy schedule.

There’s absolutely nothing cosy about the cosy club. Everyone is sardined together and I’d describe it best as a Mac Donald’s with nice decor. The front of house was unwelcoming, the bar service not much better. They served us a dirty glass and then replaced it with an even dirtier one. We had to go up to ask if the table was ready then when we followed the woman she walked off with someone else. So we sat back down and watched her then seat another couple who just arrived. The appearance of the food as I walked through the restaurant looked less than appetising. With the poor service and sight of average food we politely explained we would no longer be requiring a table and went to The Wishing Well where we had an exceptional meal and service with sparkling clean glasses.

Me and my partner came here for a meal. We were seated quickly and had a very polite welcome. Our drinks order was taken along with our food. The waitress came back to me to advise they’ve ran out of Pino (wine) so I ordered a sauvignon blanc wine, this arrived in dirty glass. My partner ordered a coke which was flat.

A new glass of wine was given once I complained.

For starters we ordered the soup, the waitress went to find out the soup of the day and advised it was spicy tomato, we both ordered the soup and our mains.

Within 5 mins a Waiter comes over and advises they are no longer doing that soup and it’s changed to oberguine soup. They did advise they could make the soup for us so we stuck to the original soup - BIG MISTAKE!!! The soup arrived with bread but no butter, it tasted like bolognese sauce, smoky bacon and cigarette ash, it was horrible.

We still had high hopes for the mains.

My partner ordered from the tapas menu but they only brought 2 of the 3 dishes out.

I ordered the Salmon fillet but had chips instead of roasted potato’s.

My dish arrived, the chips were on the bottom, the green beans and the watery dressing on top and then the salmon. As you can imagine the chips were soggy from the dressing. I asked the waitress to re plate my dish and explained to put the dressing in a different dish.

My dish arrived, salmon was as thin as a wafer, chips still soggy. My partner had fries, the portion is like a happy meal portion it’s that poor.

The inside looks amazing, the service was fine but little slow, the food itself was awful and I’m really disappointed as I had high hopes.

Dog friendly??? Not if you want to eat. A very disappointing addition to the Cosy Club chain. As dog owners, we were always so pleased to be able to go to Cosy Club Stamford and sit with the dogs and have lunch. We went in to the Lincoln Cosy Club with great expectations. The place looked great, we sat at a nice table with the dogs and went up to order some food. The bar person told me that they weren’t set up to serve food to the bar tables (which happen to be in the same room and about a couple of metres from the restaurant tables). For this very weak policy, you not only lost about £40-£50 of custom that lunchtime, but lost all potential custom from us. You want to tick a box to say that you’re dog friendly, but you don’t want to serve customers with dogs any food. Luckily, Lincoln has many more places that are ‘dog friendly’ and will serve us food. We will give our hard earned cash to these establishments instead.
