for over two years I hadn’t been as the last time I went I was disappointed,, how that changed on Thursday night when I was out with a group of ladies of 23 or more along with a second group of about the same,, the meal had been pre booked off the festive menu but a menu had been left on the table as a little taster for us to surly visit again,, in such cases there is little veg but no out came all the trimmings and kept coming when asked,, the staff were excellent friendly and efficient,, we hope we showed our appreciation with our gesture,, the night was a tribute night and George Michael kept us entertained very well the atmosphere was amazing,,, Tracey on behalf of all of us we thank you for your hospitality please pass on our best Christmas Wishes to all of your staff. Wonderful menu, served brilliantly and in good time in lovely surroundings - not sure what you’d want more. Can see it being our regular!

User

What a fantastic evening at The Crew & Harpur on New Year's Eve. The food was fantastic and the music was great fun but just past midnight was the best ;-) Thank you to everyone who served us and to Tracey for making everything possible x

User

Thursday is steak night, 2 steaks and a decent bottle of wine for £22, I paid an extra £3 to upgrade to a larger Rib Eye, delicious and perfectly cooked, mum had breaded Plaice which she enjoyed. Service was friendly and attentive, Hobgoblin beer was nice.

User

Just got back from the Crewe and Harper at swarkstone. Really enjoyed everything about it. Service was fast and friendly. The food was excellent and such great value. The house red wine was very good to and great value. The decor and comfort was really good. Please give it a try, I know we all have different views on good food but the whole experience was really enjoyable. Well done to all at the Crewe and Harper.

User

User

Had a fabulous meal last night, really impressed with food & staff, really on the ball & polite, very impressed. Be visiting again soon.

User

First saw The Crewe & Harpur after being diverted from the M1 on route to our son's in Derby. Took a gamble and booked Sunday lunch to celebrate my husband's birthday /retirement. Was not disappointed. Good food , good value & good service.

User

First Mothers Day meal out in 18 years and couldn’t have asked for a better place to spend it! Love this place! As always, fabulous food & attentive staff and even flowers to take home too today! Keep it up everyone.

User

Called in for breakfast on the off chance and glad I did now. Continental, full English, juice and coffee for £5.95 and it was delicious. Great service with a smile from Ann, would definitely recommend if you’re passing by.

User

Very nice food, good gluten free menu, most items fairly priced. Only reason not 5⭐️ Is could have done with more chicken on Tiger topped fries.

User

It would be better to have table service outside but putting that aside food was good and reasonably priced.

User

I love the layout of the pub little rooms here and there very nicely decorated and cosy good food had 2 courses on the Sunday menu, and was a big portion, only thing negative to say is waited a while for drinks after we had ordered them

User

Was ok for one night.

Room was cold specially bathroom.

Asked for quiet room and was given room facing main road and over the entrance.

Mentioned that I had forgotten to say we booked online to get 20% discount on food but had no response.

Also mentioned we had logged into site and been accepted to get 2 free drinks on arrival.

My email request did not get a response so they only gave us one drink, pretty mean as paid full price for the booking.

Would we return? No.

User

Slightly disappointed on this visit. Recommended it and was left feeling embarrassed. Had to complain about the quality of our lunch ( which I never normally do) and was only offered more chicken to put in my sandwich by which time the moment had passed! Sorry, won’t be dashing back again, very disappointing !

User

Had the Sunday lunch menu yesterday the food was gorgeous 5/5 but the service was terrible hence the 3! We had 2 courses and it took 2.5 hours up of our time.

1. We were shown to our table but a young lad, he said I'll come back to take your drinks order. We waited 20 minutes....nothing! So went to the bar for our own drinks.

2. We had to ask a young girl to take our food order, still no sign of the lad! Over half an hour before food order was taken.

3. Forgot cutlery for main course as we'd used them for our starter we had to ask.

4. Took ages for our plates to be collected. I had to ask for them to be cleared and a dessert order for our table.

5. We asked for more drinks 2 large white wine, the waitress said do you want the offer where you get the rest of the bottle free. Yes please! We would have that first time round but it wasn't mentioned.

6. Bill was asked for when it came all the items were put through separately not as 3 X 2 course Sunday dinner so another bill had to be done.

The team were young but I think a bit of time coaching them on great customer service and looking after customers will really help and it doesn't cost anything to smile when serving. You're a busy pub, no wonder there weren't many tables. 2 courses not rushing should take about 1.5 hours, not 2.5 hours. You'd free up tables quicker.

User

sorry to say but one of our favorite places has slipped a bit - but simple mistakes with the orders means only fair rating - I asked for a steak dish but without the mushroom that comes as standard ,and asked for a pepper sauce - strangely i received the meal with the mushroom on the plate and a mushroom sauce - taking the mickey or genuine mistake ?? - corrected quickly but poor to be honest

User

Bit disappointed really!Me and my partner decided to have a ploughman’s dish for two and a friend had one for herself,we was sitting outside and when the meal came to the table my friend plate was the same as ours (which we paid more for)so we had two pieces of small bread each with loads of cheese on the plate😂didn’t bother complaining as the queue was to long! disappointed !
