We stayed in the Hill Top room at the rear of the pub and it was absolutely beautiful. The food in the pub was delicious. I had the beer battered haddock and my husband had the gammon steak - we were both stuffed, but made room for the homemade Bakewell Pudding and custard! Breakfast was lovely too. This place is definitely worth a visit x

User

We stayed here for the last night of our short break in The Peak District. Everything was amazing! The staff were incredibly friendly and couldnโ€™t be more helpful. Our room was excellent and facilities superb! The evening meal and breakfast were delicious! We will definitely be back!

User

We had an over night stay here for my birthday - the room was amazing - loved the fact that the bed was so high we had steps to get in to it! The staff were friendly without being intrusive and the food was excellent - enjoyed the oatcakes with breakfast. We will certainly be back. ( added bonus that we had snow too)

User

We decided to visit Chatsworth and spent a wonderful night at the Devonshire Arms. We had our 17 month old son with us and the staff could not have been more accommodating. Booking is via a central office and I had requested a room at the front of the inn, a request which had been lost in translation. However, on our arrival the very friendly and helpful member of staff (who we sadly donโ€™t remember her name but thank you for your kindness) arranged for us to move rooms to allow our baby monitor to work so we could enjoy a โ€˜grown upโ€™ meal in the restaurant. I would highly recommend the Devonshire Arms for a stress free night away with little ones. Thank you so much, we will be back!

User

The most wonderful place to stay. Staff especially Johny were fantastic, we were staying with friends and 2 dogs who were treated like royalty.. we stayed in the farmhouse where we had the most amazing rooms with 4 poster beds and treats for us and the dogs. The food was gorgeous, just cannot praise this place enough. We will be back but next time for longer..

User

Sunday lunch with my husband and his aunt yesterday was fantastic. Great food, great friendly service and a lovely table even though we hadnโ€™t booked. Didnโ€™t feel rushed and were given the WiFi password upon asking. The waitress was so welcoming and made us feel like VIP customers even though we were lucky to get a table. Freshly prepared delicious food and condiments all from Chatsworth Farm shop. The best tomato ketchup I have ever had - might even splash out on a bottle next time we go to the Shop :)

User

Staying in Hilltop room and it is lovely and so comfortable. Had our evening meal here last night and the food was lovely, quite large portions, so don't eat much before. Comfy bed, slept for 9 hours which we hardly ever do, and sleeping in a four poster is nice. Breakfast is great, had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. Have a collie cross pooch and she was made so welcome as well. Staff really do try to help as we walked today and didn't want to take a mucky pooch to our room and they sorted out a way for us to clean her nice and easily. Would definitely recommend

User

Stayed 13th March in the Moor room , great room the extra touches such as shortbread and sweets added to the delightful stay. The bed was so comfortable and high . The evening meal and the choice of drinks made it a great night away, a good pilsley breakfast curbed the appetite for most of the day. Thanks again to the great staff and wonderful place , looking forward to our next visit.

User

Stay in the South Oaks room last night. Excellent room, decorated to a high standard. Loved have some steps to the bed! Evening meal was excellent. It was included in the deal we got and had to remind staff of this a couple of times, including when we got the bill. Breakfast was really good. A good choice on the menu. We will be back again and will bring the dog as it is a really dog friendly pub from what we saw.

User

Popped in yesterday for lunch- a beautiful pub in a great location! The staff were so friendly (namely the lady with the blonde bob, she was so polite and welcoming!) and the food was fantastic. We couldn't have appreciated the woodburner and the excellent sauvignon anymore on such a wintery day! Thank you! Jen x

User

My husband and I have just spent a night at this fantastic hotel. Our room was a beautiful four poster bed with everything we could have needed included. The dinner was one of the best meals we have had and the service was exceptional! We canโ€™t wait to return.

User

I would just like to say a big thank you for being so welcoming to us on Sunday 6th May. There was three groups from the Royal Air Force Air Cadets doing a Duke of Edinburgh silver Expedition and the three group needed to fill their water bottles and use the toilet. Thank you very much for allowing them to do this!

User

Had a great meal, lovely food and great service!

User

Got engaged over the weekend at Chatsworth House and stayed here in the evening, all the staff were fantastic, the Bramley room was quaint and ideal with one of the most comfortable beds we have ever stayed in, all the food was lovely (well apart from the plates being too hot, but cant complain at that) overall it was fantastic and will be visiting again!

User

Fantastic Inn, the rooms are lovely, spotless and cosy. The food is great, all our 3 courses arrived quickly and were really tasty. The staff were really friendly and the service was second to none.

User

We stayed yesterday four of us . We had Hilton and friends had moor rooms both lovely the little details were lovely .we had evening meal food exceptional service outstanding friendly iwas poorly but nothing too much trouble from all the staff .Breakfast was tremendous so much choice was nice to see bacon buttie as an option as I can't eat full English , the others had full English all hot and cooked perfect .checkout was easy and Jess was very friendly helpful . All the staff outstanding nicest bed and breakfast I stayed in thank you .

User

Had an evening meal. Mains and pudding were really good and tasted great. Sadly felt that ยฃ5 for 2 small risotto balls was quite expensive and they werent that tasty. Service was good. Didnt like the loud music playing in the restaurant. Needed to be a lot lower in volume

User

The pub was very nice, homely and warm, food was mediocre, our starter was just warm, turkey Sunday roast was ok but baby carrots had been kept warm for far too long (3pm) gone past their best, asked for coffee and glass of water, coffee came but no water, would go again and try something different just for the benefit of doubt

User

The accommodation was very nice which is why I've given this a three star rating but the customer service was sadly lacking. We booked a table for our evening meal both nights we were staying and the first night our booked table next to the Christmas Tree and Fire was given to a couple who had come in for a drink and then decided to have a meal. We did ask to be moved when they left and although the meal was lovely it did put a bit of a dampener on the night. The second night we were put on the table of invisibility. To ask six times for a jug of water over an hour and a bit and then be given just a glass with a meal which was tepid wasn't the best. Didn't get asked if we wanted a sweet or any further drinks either. Breakfast was good but they need more staff on as there was only two staff members on taking orders, waiting tables, answering the phone and attending the bar. I was told when I left that my comments would be given to the General Manager but noone has called and although I really love Chatsworth I don't think we'll be returning anytime soon to the Devonshire Arms as didn't really feel like we were valued as staying guests.
